Fantastic blizzcon, loved the announcements. Hearthstone duos sounds super fun, would actually get me to play again since I could play co-op with a buddy! 3 expansions has me hooked long term for sure. War within looks amazing and it’s extremely exciting knowing that we will get consistent updates and plot lines for the next few years with an expansion every year and a half or so instead of two years. Very exciting times to be a retail wow fan :D
I think what they're going for with Thrall saying he's not sure who's calling out, is that he is skeptical. It very well might not be the world soul itself.
As someone who got to 3rd place legend rank at one point in Hearthstone I really can't take that game seriously as a "competitive" card game. Sure its fun and you can do some cool stuff; but the fact the rng is so high that someone can just discover a random card with random effects that randomly wins them the game at any point in the game is wild.
Ive played a lot of ccgs, and hearthstone isnt any more random than any of the others. If anything it gives you more control over the rng than others, cause rng is staple to ccgs as a whole.

The war within anduin, and within azeroth is a cool twist on the name. The references to the lich king (pose) and to Saurfang (what i've seen, what i've done) give him depth. And most of all *it makes sense*. Nothing gets me more hyped for WoW than Metzen, but holy fuck did he blow me away this year.

Also also, midnight going back to Quel'thalas, then Last Titan to Northrend. Maybe these are the "world revamps" Ion hinted at. They are the oldest zones left. Also reusing old assets would save development time and mean more work on WoW 2? But why revamp then WoW 2 :(
I was just as suprised as Necrit that such a huge amount of players look at Season of Discovery with disgust, but apparently many people wanted Classic + to be normal classic with more phases after phase 6 and just more scraped content like Class quest for every class and so on, maybe some balance changes to classes that aren't viable but nothing of the scale shown here. I myself am looking forward to it, but feel like warriors the class that sucks every expansion outside of classic is now gonna suck even in classic if you look at the dogshit we get compared to other classes, I really think every expansion after classic was a nerf and we would need new abilities not TBC or Wotlk stuff.
Classic + had, to at the very least balance the class viability. Ppl who want to play vanilla classes can still do just that. Increasing the number of available tanks and healers is a win on its own.
Another note- in the "whats next" panel, they don't say the Old Gods are dead.. they say that Xal'atath says their dead. We can't kill Demons on azeroth, they just get sent back to the twisting nether... I have a feeling the old gods aren't actually gone.
WoW 2 was The Burning Crusade. WoW 3 was Wrath of the Lich King. We are on WoW 10, Dragonflight. Next year will be WoW 11, The War Within. There will never be a completely different WoW, it will always just be part of this cosmos/storyline.
I don't play WoW, but how do you join hardcore? It'll probably be exactly the same as that. Given that it starts at lvl 25, it's clearly going to be a complete fresh new server.

@patrickfosby2074 it'll have a launcher. It isn't out yet dude, that's why you can't find it. It'll be a classic+ server. When it first launches max level will be 25, but there'll be a bunch of new features and a lvl 25 raid, and after a while they'll start iteratively increasing the lvl cap and adding more classic+ features.
Necrit comparing a Samoan hero to an Nigerian inspired Champ, also the armor concept art is for Reinhardt when he was going to be an African hero from Numbani, not the same ethnicity

Nobody track all the bloated bs that retail wow has become. They keep leaking more and more players because there's no nice way to onboard new players. Even the revamped new player experience leaves you wandering around with no hook at exactly the point where they'll naturally be thinking about whether to commit or quit. There's no reset for a world reset to make everyone lose their shiny things, and they don't need to wipe a single character. It's just the world itself that became too big and bloated with abandoned zones, systems and cities.

Supposedly works on omproving wc3reforged started anew and the biggest patch for hots (since it was put on life support) was launched on hots ptr. So who knows, maybe there's a tiny chance. Abyssmal barely nonexistant chance for hots. For Diablo though, idk. They improving the game... Kinda. At least in some aspects and slowly, but they do react to palyers feedback, so who knows what will happen to it in the future.
