    Love this board! TIP: Take care on a very hot, sunny day to keep the boards in shade - the dark coloured bottom absorbs heat. We had ours on the beach during recent heat wave and the seam burst after sitting there for a couple hours - I can only assume it was increased pressure due to heat rise. Luckily, Costco took it back and we were able to capture a replacement from stock they had just brought out on the floor that day.

      Very good tip for any inflatable SUP! If the weather is hot under inflate it so there is room for the sir to expand when the heat of the day builds and yes, always keep it in the shade where possible. Glad that they looked after you!

    Thank you for this excellent video! I was looking for a video on how to fold the board back into the bag... but learned a lot about the board instead. Thanks! FYI: the icons on the board are helpful to newbies LOL... As a beginner, I would have never recognized that I have the opportunity to attach a cooler or the ideal placement.

      Glad it worked for you! It's a great board and yes the icons are helpful but a little large or something that could be covered in the instruction manual. Just my opinion though. Enjoy it!

      Good feedback, thanks. The icons aren't bad, but I think they could be included in the instructions rather than on the bard graphics to keep it clean and sleek looking.

    Well done video. I have the 2019 and added this new 2021 model. They both handle and perform the same and are built like tanks. I've been using mine with a stadium seat when I take out a camera and with a double blade kayak paddle, this board MOVES on the water.

    • @Backcountryskiingcanada
      @Backcountryskiingcanada  3 года назад

      Hey Jim! Yes, they got the design right on this board so no need to really change it much with new iterations but the new features they added to the 2021 version make it even better and I dig the new graphics too.

    This board is 400 at costco and I like it so far it seems thinner than the 2020 but maybe I'm wrong. (Not the 5.4 thickness, the width)

    • @Backcountryskiingcanada
      @Backcountryskiingcanada  3 года назад +3

      Yes, somehow Costco does sell them cheaper than the MSRP, in Canada they are $500CAN - great deal! The board is thinner but still the same length and width as previous versions. Glad you like it.

    Can you show how to properly pack it back up in the bag & adjust the back pack as well? I purchased the same one but not sure if I’m packing it correctly. Thanks!

    • @Backcountryskiingcanada
      @Backcountryskiingcanada  3 года назад +2

      Hi Andrea, Packing it away does require some learning but after a few attempts, it gets easy.
      The key is to start off folding from the nose and then work your way back to the fins but start smaller than you think as every fold adds to its volume. You do this so any additional air can escape the board as you roll it up. I only fold the nose over about 12" and then keep it tight as you roll. Anything larger to start and it will be too wide for the bag.
      Keep in mind that you should not store it folded as it'll crease the board over time, best to store it slightly inflated so it retains its shape. If you have a bed you can slide it under that is a great spot to store it not in the pack to ensure it last longer.

    When traveling by air w back pack SUP, are the fins ever broken off by luggage workers? Do you recommend a particular way to roll in bag for traveling by air

    • @Backcountryskiingcanada
      @Backcountryskiingcanada  2 года назад

      Hi Michelle, I've travelled on several trips with my Body Glove Performer 2021 Stand Up Paddle Board and have not had any issue with the fins breaking off. I roll my board so that the fins are in the middle of the roll and also use the inflatable 'water wing like' fin protectors that came with my board and this provides some protection. Good luck on your next trip and have a fun adventure.

      Yeah, It's a super easy board to travel with especially since they now include the electronic pump, although you do need a car outlet to use it. Still, really useful and everything you need to get on the water-anywhere!

    wait... WHAT?! $1349.99 CDN??? I just bought the new version of this board from a Costco Canada warehouse in February of this year (2022)! It's literally everything you mentioned in the video. How did the price come down THAT much in only approximately 8 months time??? Or... where did you buy it from!? I feel shocked to hear this.

    • @Backcountryskiingcanada
      @Backcountryskiingcanada  2 года назад

      That is the MSRP Russell and if you buy it anywhere other than at Costco that's the price, not sure how Costo can sell it so cheap, even with volume discounts. It's a Mystery-but you got a crazy good deal on a great board. Enjoy it!

      Second question... Can you mount an action that isn't a GoPro? I have a waterproof camera so it doesn't have the little feet and I'm having the hardest time trying to find something that I can put that will attach my camera to board!!!???

    • @Backcountryskiingcanada
      @Backcountryskiingcanada  3 года назад +1

      @@sarahcards Hi Sarah, yes, you should be able to. There is a screw hole in the middle of the action camera mount so you should be able to find an accessory that would help you mount it to the board but this depends upon your camera of course. I'd take a picture of this and take it to your electronics store along with your camera and see if they can help.

    Thanks for the very informative review, I think this is the board that'll get me into the sport. You mentioned you've been surfing some decent sized waves when talking about the camera mount, on this board? I'm under the assumption only rigid boards should be ridden in waves.

    • @Backcountryskiingcanada
      @Backcountryskiingcanada  3 года назад

      Glad the review worked for you. No, inflatable boards are better for waves and they flex a little but any board with low profile fins (for maneuverability) and rocker in the nose (for staying on top of the waves and not diving) will do.

    Can you please confirm if the logo on the paddle is to be facing front or back to use it properly? Great video BTW.

    • @Backcountryskiingcanada
      @Backcountryskiingcanada  3 года назад

      Good Question! On any SUP paddle you want the maximum reach so typically they are held the reverse of what one would naturally think. For the Body Glove paddle, the logo would face you so the scoop maximizes the power and ability to pull water towards you.

    • @GregKingston
      @GregKingston 2 года назад

      Seems to be some debate about what is best. The manual states to start at the nose and roll, but I noticed when unpacking mine that I just got that it comes with the fin end rolled first. I think to get the most air out you need to start at the nose, but it will get more compact roll if you then reroll tail end first.

    Thanks for the great video! I recently purchased my board (love it!!!) and was wondering about your GoPro mount.
    My GoPro won’t lock into place. The buckle isn’t quite long enough, so the middle silicone buckle part isn’t able to be pushed down.
    Yours looks like it locked into place. I emailed customer service for Body Glove, and they said all of the boards have the same size mounts and they aren’t GoPro specific. Do you have another brand or something?

    • @Backcountryskiingcanada
      @Backcountryskiingcanada  3 года назад

      Hi Allison, great to hear you managed to buy one as I hear that they are sure selling fast. My GoPro is the standard mount and it was a tight fit but a bit of muscle persuaded it to lock in, maybe try forcing it as it worked well but was tight.

      Experience helps with any board and things will improve for sure. Some boards are more stable but they are also then slower in the water. The Body Glove Performer 2021 Stand Up Paddle Board is pretty stable as far as boards go, I bet by summer's end you're a pro at it!

    does the paddle float?

    • @Backcountryskiingcanada
      @Backcountryskiingcanada  3 года назад

      That's a great question and one I had not investigated. I would assume so as most if not all SUP paddles float otherwise you'd be in a predicament if you fell off and let go of the paddle. Perhaps someone else viewing the video can comment on if they have tested this with their Performer?
