I just found your tutorials. I am newer to EPP and am finding them very informative. Thank you for sharing your time and skills. I now have your rotating cutting matt and finding it very useful.
I've watched many videos on paper piecing and quilting but still never seemed to get it right. But since watching all your videos and the Missouri star quilting company video tutorials.everything now actually makes sense and simple. My work from the cutting to designing and finally sewing has become so neat and tidy thank you I can finally complete projects I'm proud to show off. You usually say less is more but in this case keep doing more of these tutorials I look forward to them all.
Hi Just found your fantastic lessons on paper piecing wish I had seen it before. I started! Have found out so much in the last 45 minutes. Thankyou so much from UK xxx
WOW! I really enjoyed your EPP School videos, Sue. I tried EPP earlier this year, but my 6-pointed star didn't line up very well. After watching your videos with your tips, I feel more confident that I can do a better job. Thanks so much for sharing your experience!
I'm new to the English Paper Piecing - you are helping me get over the fear of hand sewing everything. I'm willing to learn new things. I have been quilting for 5 years now. I love the quilt behind you - what pattern is that?
Hi Claudette, depending where you live you can find everything you need from my online store www.busyfingerspatchwork.com or if you're in the USA and prefer to buy something a little closer to home you can find lots of my products at Missouri Star Quilt Co.
Great tutorial ‼️Thanks for sharing 👏👏👏 what about clamshell? Where can I get a 3.5 inch acrylic template with a “window “ inside the 1/4 inch allowance? Will appreciate very much your advise🎈
Thank you this was wonderful! I hope you still keep up with comments because I would like to know what pattern the quilt behind you is using - it's not quite Brimfield....help?
Hi, Sorry for the late reply. The quilt behind me is called Square Dance. It is from my first book which is still in print. You would need to buy the paper & template pack separately however you will need a copy of the book as the pattern can only be found there. Book is called New English Paper Piecing and the accompanying Paper & Template pack for the quilt you like is called Square Dance. A lot of the shapes you describe as six pointed stars appear to be diamonds. They don't become six pointed stars unless six of them are assembled in the correct configuration. Pointing at a four pointed diamond and calling it a six pointed star can be very confusing.
Hi Kevin, Thank you for your comment. What we call a 6pt, 4pt, 5pt, 10pt is named this because when you join them together that is what they form. I understand that when alone they are a diamond however it is easier to name them the way we do for what we do rather than using angles to distinguish between all the different ones we have. Thank you for you time and if you have a better name for them we would be happy to hear.
Camera work and working with white papers makes it difficult to follow. You are clearly a talented quilter, but it's too frustrating to watch these videos.
Is there any reason why you wouldn't use the glue pen instead of the applique glue for sticking the star down? I'm thinking of what I have on hand, and I always have your glue pens. Great tutorials, thank you for taking the time to make them :)
Love your very informative blogs. Just getting started in English paper piecing.

Thank you Ronni
That is good stuff....I can almost design my own Pattern !! 💕
Excellent ...thankyou. I have some star points that need appliqueing for my Mrs Billings, and wasn't sure how to go about it.
Great help
Thanks Sue

brilliant video - really helped me get over my fear of geometric shapes and what can fit together. So many new ideas.
i guess I am quite off topic but do anyone know of a good website to watch new movies online?
@Avery Moses Flixportal :)
@Vihaan Maximus thank you, I went there and it seems like a nice service =) I really appreciate it !

The quilt in the image behind Sue is called "Square Dance". It can be found in her book "New English Paper Piecing". I found it on Amazon.

And where do we go to obtain your bag of pieces for beginners?? And the fussy cutting mirror??

I am really enjoying your school and I am learning so much. Do you sell the pattern or kit for the quilt behind you in lesson 4? It is beautiful.

What did you use for the quilt behind you, beautiful
I have a question about quilting the final quilt top in EPP. Do you machine quilt it? Any reason why you can't?
Hi Sue, Yes you could machine applique the EPP down to your background. I have hand applied but machine applique would work perfectly too.
How can you end up with a square?

Your camera should be behind you it will show us better what your doing

The Sewline Glue Pen is a temporary glue and isn't strong enough for me so I use applique glue for when I'm appliqueing.
