Also I love the gameplay of blood contract, having an immortal army of zombies as long as Iphi is alive is really fun.
She’s such a fun unit to use! And thank you for fighting curio! It gave me a lot of ideas! Edit: also, Curio is a shade attacker so her zone boosts his damage too…. That was a sad realization for me XD
Glad to see you got her Wil, and very good showcase. Haven't really tackled the last boss you fought, but seeing how she decimated EPS Murphy and laughed at his barrier was something else 😂

Can set crit, awaken zone, inflict elemental break and increase power/int/speed and weapon damage by up to 75% AND can convert your team damage to the active zone type. Easily one of the strongest units in the game right now. Great fun to fit in any elemental zone.
Pulled her 4star and decided to upgrade her 5star. I did 3 runs of Man Eater Marsh. And got the Carmilla tome. Spent 800 Tsubaru gems for the last 2 chant scripts needed. Now I’m trying to understand her. Thank you 😅
Great video as always, Wil. You demonstrate shade change skill, auto revive and barrier penetration really well. I think only knock back immunity that you didn't have in this video. Other than Iphi, only Yipha as have knockback immunity skill (I think!?, sorry if I am wrong, I didn't have her)

As a greek I confirm that. I haven't done her quests yet but the fact that her name is I-[PH]-i and not I-[F]-i kinda betrayed it for me. Iphigenia was the daughter of king Agamemnon one of the protagonists of the trojan campaign in Homeros' epic of Iliad. Moreover the "ichor" in her attack is the name used in Iliad to describe the blood of "gods". Another eden generally has many greek words scattered all around the gameplay, some used pretty accurately and some amusingly tacky.
Wait, isn't rose liliac a Quadruple debuff? It debuffs pow, int, spd, and type res for 35%-50%, not to mention permanent surehit pain and poison... Uhhh sixtuple??? Also she DEFINITELY worth 4th slot imo
Hi Wil!! Not sure if you will see this, but i just recently returned to another eden, and purchased the the 1000 stone cheap pack with weapons, and managed to snag me a 5* iphi on her banner. But im like ... 3 year returning player 😅 i have no idea who to play her with. Do i just slap on any shade character i have? I have "normal" thillelille and "normal" necoco, is there any new characters available for free or units you would recommend with her as an old player? I am missing a lot of the new units, but i do have a handful of some AS.
Congrats! She can actually be used in any team to either make them all shade for 1 turn and attack with shade DPS, or mainly to keep everyone alive. She runs well in shade, magic and basically any team you need survivability. The blood contract mechanic is her strongest feature!

This isn't related to the video but, as a newbie thinking of getting into this game, it seems to have so many complex synergy mechanics that are so confusing. Really debating if I should invest my time into it. Thankfully I know that it's very much a "play at your own pace" kinda game, but there seemingly being so much mechanic bloat is making it hard to dive in I feel. I feel like I read a character's skills in the wiki and have no idea what they actually do or how you're supposed to use them
The game’s gotten more complex over the years but is still very fun. I wouldn’t worry about the complex mechanics yet, they’re usually only important at extreme endgame. My Back to Basics playlist will cover a variety of topics that can help you see various aspects of the game. You also can check the wiki, or watch boss fight videos (or other 5* review videos for more explanations). But I still highly recommend playing it and enjoying the journey!
I was enjoying AE for more than year by just playing story on my own pace. Like Will said you should care about mechanics if you want to kill optional superbosses (new ones).
I'm more of a casual player myself and I get off from the game for months in time until I pick it up back again. You'll get the hang of it as you go along the main story! Honestly, they give out so much free characters, and powerful ones too. Mechanics can come by in the end-game. I'd say just have fun figuring it out!
I rolled for Iphi cuz she is cool, but even though I watched the video, I still have no idea on how to use her, do I just go ham with Walpurgisnacht and deal lots of shade? i guess it depends on the enemy, but I have like, Harle and a 4.5 star Milsha as the only characters who can take advantage of Shade Zone so Imma use her with a staff team that I can turn to shade
Sorry for the late response. You can set zone or replenish blood contract with Walpurgisnacht, or debuff with Liliac, or boost with Procession. I found her better as a support because it’s hard to get her to 3 stacks quickly unless your whole team dies. But if the fight lasts longer then you’ll have the 3 stacks, activate her lunatic and spam her DPS move. And yes if you need to, she can change your whole team to shade!

Hey Wil, I was able to save up for another 1k, and managed to get Camilla now, plus a 4.5 premaya (sorry i stole your last collection 😉). So that's 14k CS for this banner for 14 4.5/5*, Thille and Melina still avoid me, but at least I got a couple of new units from this with good rates.
Did you already upgrade your Iphi? Didn't get her tome so far and I actually bought the 10 additional red keys after I got her. Can't wait to be able to upgrade her.
If you guys still hesitate whether to pull for her or not because of her gameplay, then at least pull for her story. It was SOOOO GOOD, gosh, I'm crying in the middle of the night. It's like Jade's character story all over again 😭😭😭😭🤧🤧🤧🤧

I'm down 16k and no Iphi. My lesson: I don't care how good the unit is, never pull on a banner that has an extra unit that you're not trying to get. I'm only ever pulling on single rate up banners from now on.
Basically all superbosses with AOE cant do anything to you. This is so broken. One for sure after Iphi gets released in JP new bosses are going to have some ridiculous skills.

Thillelille, Milsha, and Nona would be a good shade team combination with her zone. Speaking of Thillellille, I just got her.
