My design is not going to transmit that much heavy load and not going to run at high speed though I am getting face width as 8.25 cm. There is no other option to change the value. But in r. S. Khurmi machine design book page no 1121 says (b=0.73* dia of worm gear). Pls clarify my doubt

Size of wheel actually bigger, so it should be cast iron., The speed reduction and size of worm is small... We can choose steel. For hight speed reduction like more than 15times, go for castiron.
