@@davidtipping1370 I lived in the village for many years so l fish the beck only down as far as the railway line kept me out of trouble in the school holidays
Lovely video. I can watch it again and again and see something new each time. My local stream is much like your beck. I rarely see another angler and it holds wild trout, mostly browns but occasionally rainbows. The stream hasn't been stocked since the mid 1960's. Cheers, Steve.
David I have watched this video many times and I have to say it leaves me every time very happy and restored for the future. Great video and good learning session.
Good luck if you decide to give it a go. They key to success is stealth and concealment - you need to present your bait to the trout before the it detects your presence and spooks. Get that part right (easier said than done) and you will catch. Bear in mind that the many occasions when I messed-up have been edited out of the video!
Various farmers/land owners. The north bank between Pannal church and the A61 Almsford road bridge adjoins fields which, I understand, are owned by the local council. I've fished there and never been challenged.
+Clifford Hatton It's a labour of love Cliff. I'd love to do it professionally (the wooden narration would need improving) but am not holding my breath!
It's the Crimple Beck, near Harrogate, in case you don't know. The stretch I was fishing is private - I have permission from the land owner. There is about half a mile of fishing downstream of Pannal village (entrance through St Robert's Church), which is owned by the local council, and I don't think anybody will object to you fishing there. Same in the Great Yorkshire Showground area.
Great video take’s me back to when I fished Ripley beck
I fished Ripley Beck myself - used to enjoy catching chub in the little weir pool directly below the lakes, until I got kicked off for poaching!

Thanks Ray. I have a long association with that beck...caught my first trout there over 50 years ago and still live within walking distance!
Very enjoyable video. Fishing for wild brownies in small streams looks challenging but rewarding. Inspiring me for next season!

Who has the fishing on Crimple ? I am literally a stones throw, and have always wondered about fishing it.

Very professional, Dave...must've taken an age to produce. Excellent stuff!

The narration definitely isn't wooden. Its very subtle, measured and relaxing to listen to. Fits the films perfectly. Really excellent series.
