Restoring WILD TROUT in the River Nidd

The Nidderdale Angling Club had been stocking their waters with farmed fish for a number of years, but a few years ago decided to rebuild the wild trout populations in the river Nidd. With the help of The Wild Trout Trust and Yorkshire Dales Rivers Trust the club have worked to restore many of the juvenile habitats in the tributaries which in turn has created an incredible increase in the number of wild fish.

Cracking video. I’ve been fishing the nidd for 3 years had lots of stocked fish. And a few wild ones. Went up one of the tributaries (crimple beck behind the show ground) which is a good way from the mouth where it goes into the nidd and had plenty of wild trout cracking little things

They costantly do jorvikangler, the amount of time i see the glasshouse pump station pumping sewage into river is a joke, those company bosses should be jailed for what they are doing to our rivers.

As a lad I fished Ripley beck and it was always full of trout some big fish as well not fished the beck for about 40 years
