  • Following the collapse of MG Rover in 2005, Chinese automaker Nanjing Automobile bought the MG marque and the Longbridge facility for £53 million the following year.
Some 12 months on, Shanghai-based SAIC Motor acquired the Chinese car firm along with the British-badged carmaker that was first established in 1920.
Since 2007, three MG Motor models have been launched and part-built in the UK.

Urban Exploring or the Exploration of Abandoned Places is a hobby which has been around for many years. I explore derelict buildings mainly in the UK to try and uncover the history or discover the story behind why they have been left. Sometimes we find Mansions Full of Stuff or disused properties that have just been forgotten about. Either way, Urbex is always interesting. So join me as we Explore and peek behind the curtain of these Amazing Places.

Like Abandoned Cars? Check out these video's:

I visited Longbridge earlier today and had a drive around the site. There's literally nothing left now, I don't even think there's an MG dealership on site anymore. Very sad.

I had a tour of this factory when it was producing cars in the early 70's. I also visited the British Leyland Special Tuning Department based here, which was responsible for producing all the rally winning cars of the 60's and 70's. Very sad that it's all gone now.

Let's hope that SAIC go the same way as MG Rover. And very soon.

I can appreciate what your doing etc. with this vid, I'm sure it was kinda interesting, but to show an MGF shell on a semi-darkened production, as a title is going to get viewers in hook line and sinker. To watch the whole vid only to be told at the very end that there is nothing was a bit poor.
