Moog, Dave Smith, Tom Oberheim, Roland etc all had the opportunity to re-release their classic retro synths. But none of them wanted to, none of them wanted to go there. They totally misunderstood what alot of people wanted. Thankfully, Behringer saw this opportunity and started designing analog synths based on tried and tested designs. It's a huge bonus that they are affordable too. I think the days of elitist analog synths with artificially inflated prices are gone now. Thank god. I literally had to wait 15 years for this to happen. As an owner of Jupiter 8, prophet 5 etc the market for these types of synths was unsustainable and crazy. I now see myself having a studio of Behringer synths - now doubt this was their game plan.
Niles Peter Clemens Your math confuses me. Ebay made a 40 year old Sequential Pro One available to us for $2000. DSI made a new Pro 2 available to us for $2000. Behringer made a Pro 1 avalable to us for $350. If it were to cost us the same amount “in the end” wouldn’t we have nearly 6 Behringer Pro 1’s?
Yes but behringer is a mass production company, so instead of supporting smaller synth manufacturers you give your money the a huge corporation instead of supporting people that make synth for passion rather than "money". They did! Moog has released a one-to-one rebuild of the original Model D for approx USD 3'800 in 2018. Unfortunately in a limited number. All sold out. Tom Oberheim has released an exact rebuild of his SEM few years ago for approx USD 1'000 plus two extended versions with Midi as well as a Four Voice incl. Keyboard (approx USD 4'200). Again, in a very limited edition. And again, all are sold out, unfortunately. Especially the run for the SEM was such enormous that one should think twice about a re-launch in mass production. One of the best sounding synth of all times! Finally Roland has made a re-creation of the system 100. Nowadays as System 500. I am a proud owner. But they missed to do proper marketing. Therefore you'll find very limited vids on youtube or elsewhere. Even in the modular scene it is not a realy aware of the system 500. But it sounds absolute outstanding!!! But you'r right. Especially Roland had have the potential to re-launch all it famous originals for a reasonable price. They didn't and don't understand the demands of the market and mde the focus on cheap digital clones and consequently lost a lot of potential business/market shares, obviously. The same with Yamaha. Totally agree - it's really frustrating when you WANT to buy stuff, but people WON'T LET YOU. Here we are, listening to a Pro-One that sounds and acts just like the original, with a handful of new features that only improve and do not dissuade the original in any way. Sorry Dave Smith I couldn't give you the money for it, but you wouldn't let me.

So when I first heard THIS demo I was all in - bought mine as soon as I could and yeah, it's EFFIN amazing. Love what Behringer is doing, but I can tell you as a current owner of two CS-80’s and many other classic and new synths, that the CS-80 will never have a legitimate copy. There are so many things that contribute to its unique sound and playability, that an effort that way will be in vain. Deckards Dream have a commendable effort, and even with a polyphonic aftertouch keyboard controller such as the Hydrasynth, it simply doesn’t have the magic of the CS-80. Not even close. I think they would be better off spending energy creating an amazing synth of their own styling and design features.

Behringer is doing it like all the great companies do(Apple) dolling out less than they have in store to ride the money train but I’m friggin grateful, this post is cause when they drop the poly synths(Jupiter, oberheim) it’ll change everything in music again
Behringer has been absolutely hitting it out of the park on the synthesizer front for the past 3-4 years now. It's unreal what they're doing. They're putting extraordinary recreations of classic synthesizers within the budget of everyday people like me. People like me who always dreamed of the sounds of all these classic synths yet couldn't afford them. But they're not just recreating classic synthesizers, they're releasing completely original units as well. One thing I think would be interesting to see is Behringer recreate the Moog Taurus. I had to laugh out loud when I noticed what the PRO-1 was balanced on. This beast sounds gorgeous, I'm getting one.
Glad you did not forget SKinny Puppy. They're the reason I'm getting this.
BEHRINGER : DO A JUPITER 8 AND A CS80 !!
Cs 80 is on its way!!😜
@@neptunesgold1216 ya?
@@skipper6528 Yes sir google it!! This one Im really excited about. Yeah we are gonna have CS 80 soon😉
@@neptunesgold1216 super,
Did u ever look at deckards dream?
@@skipper6528 yeah That one looked real nice! Behringer DS 80 will probably cost half the price of deckards! Behringer has been very exciting for po boys like me!!
The sounds on this are ridiculous! Well done Behringer
YES. I need this now. I make synthwave and hybrid cinematic scores, this is gold to me.
Sooo good. Hanging onto my Toraiz AS-1, but thing sounds as authentic as it gets
i was thinking about the Crave to go with my AS-1...and another blinding update from Pio `cause they treat us so well;)
the sodium lights did the AS-1 just get an update?
@@brentvalleywhag3477 don`t be daft, you know that`ll never happen. I once asked the pio/tor mod if an update was coming in the 12 months and they couldn`t even answer that.
the sodium lights yeah, it’s pretty disappointing that they never got around to fixing the syncing issues for the sequencer. I use it in the studio and like having the ability to store patches though. Still a fan. This Behringer thing is enticing though
@@brentvalleywhag3477 likewise.
I’m so impressed with Behringer. Great job.
The original was my first synth. can't believe how close this sounds to it. Looks like I'll have to purchase a new synth, after watching this video. well done!
Skinny Puppy mentioned! 😍❤ I'll buy this just because of that. 😆
SP#1
and check out 7:00 in the video, i swear it's straight off bites
@@jdrukman 👍🏿 I'm pretty sure it was intentional. 🐕
oh good fuck, i was thinking SP, not the only one
So Yazoo. What a great synth to resurrect.
Sounds Awesome! :) By the way...When the UBXA too? More news please ;)
Love it. CS-80 on the way I hope 🙏
:D
I really want them to call it BS-80, and really hope that it's even better than the original =)
LEGITT That’s a great idea. They can deflect any criticism saying “well it’s a bullshiter so what did you expect”
LEGITT LOLS I came here to write the same thing. Great minds alike and all that...
Who wants a Korg MonoPoly Clone? Then thumbs up.
Behringer clone of Oberheim
@@Frozirra yes please.....
Would looove one
Now they announced it
@@holygeneration7 Yup, it's legit. As soon as they said MGMT loves it, it shot straight to the top of my wishlist, lmao. Too bad there's no eurorack module version. ruclips.net/video/zoohp8UrxcE/видео.html
great phaaaaaat tunes. cant await. hope i get one from thomans first batch. well done dear Behringer Team.
Hello payroll department?
Can you start sending my paychecks directly to Behringer from now on? Thanks.
I love the demo tracks you make for these videos! First the K2, now this...
Of course, the synths themselves are lovely too ;)
I think I know what to buy my cat for being such a good boy
Upstairs at Eric's has a lot of pro one on it. This sounds bang on. Well done Behringer!
What an album, so atmospheric, and the cover art...
@@creativecascades1328 the 5.1 mix is really well done. It also highlights the spartan nature of the production; some tracks barely had more than 5 tracks.
Wow 😍😍😍
Holy shit this sounds dope.
Pure 80s
Sounds brilliant, I’m so glad you are making all of these adorable synths🙏
Used to have a Pro-One till it got upgraded to Roland JX-3P in 1984. Having lived through the 80s once, I like to move forward. But if I would buy one of those old synths again, it would be this one.
Oh wow - I'm 35 years younger all in a sudden. Really nice demo.
Oh yes!! Can't wait for mine on pre order with the RD8. Will be an outstanding addition to my Neutron and D .
This bloke does some of the best synthesizer demos, - definitely a quality sounding unit.
*"Time to stop wasting my money on over-priced eurocrack."*
it fits in a eurorack case!
Not in mine it won't...; )
Euroracks seem like a waste of time. I haven't been impressed with any sounds coming from it.
Skinny puppy 🐶 the pro one was all over remission and bites. And this puppy sounds quite like it.
Take my damn money behringer..
Wasnt Brap same old school era just remastered? Pro 1 on that?
@@ashleymartinez7704 yeah there's some older tracks, instrumental and whatnot that use the pro one on Brap. Its was used on" mind the perpetual intercourse " and" cleanse fold and manipulate "after that album," vivi sect, rabies etc. They staring using dx7 for basses and the mighty ensoniq ESQ-1 among other newer gear
So dreams do come true.... I got a pro-one for my 13th birthday in 1986 and I have always missed it since I sold it in 2003 and regretted it. But now I will have to purchase many of these.
Sounds awesome. I'm increasingly impressed with Behringer's revisions of old synths. They're on a roll at the moment, especially when you hear how close they sound to original hardware. Why would anyone buy old hardware at inflated prices is beyond me.
RJ Bush its like it went form a handful of people having the classic minimoog to thousands and thousands of people being to enjoy one in its pure analog ness. And now the same will go for all these other recreations, I keep asking myself why didn’t these other companies like moog Roland and sequential circuits realize they could do this; I don’t know but behringer can take my money.
But you know... there’s nothing quite like a bright orange Vintage Vibe 64.
@@Niven42 I bought myself a kurzweil k250 and after a few days the sounds glitched out and disappeared, it's still very useful for a midi Cntroller with it's wooden keys which you can't find anywhere these days, but it's nice having something classic that is also new and not going to break anytime soon, this adds so much value to these instruments too, that I would recommend to anyone who is interested
Really sounds good. Like my K-2, my Model D, my Neutron, my DeepMind 12D... hey! stop! I have no more room to store all these synths ! :-)
(but I really can't wait for the Roland Modular system 100m... hurry up please ! :-) )
I can gladly help you clear your room ;)
@@DarkSideofSynth And it was just the list of Behringer products.. It's a hell to keep all these things accessible and usable ! I unfortunately did not live in a castle. Should I must migrate to a old haunted Scottish castle ? (It must be cool to record some creepy noises for Dark Ambiance productions !).
And if you are not too far I have a Minibrute 2S to sell at a very good price, the same for a drumbrute impact !
Expand VERTICALLY with a nice modular wall :D
beginners.....smh
Right? I’m drooling at the thought of a system 100 from Behringer. It’s gonna be delicious!
Will somebody please make a video with all the Behringer synths daisy chained together for the first ever Behringer Symphony!
well done ! behringer
i have dreamed a pro53 hardware synth and you made it ! ! full analog !!
This is amazing, and I love you, but also- Linndrum, please! Please!
Lara8 Nope. Roger Lin still has the rights to it.
@@numanuma20 How is that going to stop them from recreating it? There is already a software recreation that was originally called VLinn but then from what I can see only had to have its named changed but same product. I'd like to see an Oberheim DX/DMX box too but all this stuff was apparently meant to be happening anyway according to a leak a few years ago...
A GARBAGE SAMPLE PLAYER, i would much rather have a sampler then using the same shitty samples all the time
synth master I think you’ll find they’re trying to emulate the EPROMs that actually give the Linn it’s punchy sound. There are many samples out there, but they can’t get the exact sound without that circuitry.
@@AllyKiss18 the eproms hold the shitty samples, its the analogue path that gives vintage sample players / samplers there punch.
i would much rather a sampler that i can sample my own sounds and a fully analogue back end to shape (env) to filter to output into a outboard chain of my choice.
you can find the linn drum eprom rips out there but i would rather avoid using those tired samples and use my own
I have a Prophet 6 and this thing sounds great.
Thanks Behringer, I absolutely love mine & I especially love my 2 polychained Wasps.
Already got it ordered from Guitar Center. Hoping it ships sooner than the expected date of 12/12 :)
my wish list just keeps getting longer and longer...
This is amazing! But I'm going to wait for the Poly One with a keybed. :)
That dirty arp alone really sells this for me. It's got such a smooth distortion to it.
Already got mine pre-ordered at Sweetwater. I'm excited for this one.
FatSynthDude did Sweetwater give you an ETA?
@@genx1144 yes
Fuuuck yeah. Been waiting what seems like two years for this
Mark Kelly from Marillon used one for his synth solos back in the 80s...check out their live album, Reel to Reel, full of rich lovely Jupiter 8 pads and Pro-1 synth solos....derivative of Tony Banks from Genesis but still a great keyboardist..
Given that they haven’t shipped yet, I find that very hard to believe 🤣🤣🤣🤣
ant1georgiou latest news I have is that shipment date is 6th Nov....
An Ambient Cyborg - I’ll have a listen to above thanks 👍
You guys are crushing it!! 👍🏻
This is - in a word - sublime.
This is great! Please please please do an OBX
Sounds fantastic - preordered. Also noticed on the site you can polychain more Pro-1s for up to 16 voices!
I really can't see the problem with the lack of preset memory. With so few controls, if you know your machine fairly well it's quicker to dial in the sound you're after on these than browsing through hundreds of presets, as indexed as they may be.
That’s my feelings too! I started discovering a Vermona Perfourmer MKII, and stubbled over this video. The price, the way it sounds and works, speak to my heart , this Pro-1 !
if only there was a pro-1 in the vermona performer format, oof that'd be wonderful
* cries in Dave Smith *
Great sounds in intro like "Yazoo".
Okay, just when I thought I didn't need another monosynth! This is now the leading candidate.
We love you Behringer.
Just got one for $200 🥳 can't wait to dig in
sounds really good. those curtis chips have some magic in them.
If it sounds like the intro track is an insta-buy for me! Behringer is really standing out !!!
The intro track we made purely with the PRO-1, the kick, hi hats, brass lead, bass sound and SFX are all done with the PRO-1. We will make a video at some point showing how we made the intro songs to these announcement videos. Cheers :)
@@behringer Is this intro sound is jamming, or from a known song?
Behringer sh-5 is my dream! Very want it! 🤩 pro 1 is great too, as other clones!
Thank you Behringer for reproducing these Analog true VCO,VCA synths. but in this day and age, mono synth is outrageous. back in the day they had to because of expense but not thee days.
Can someone please patch five of these together and make a prophet 5 already?
I wanted to grab one when they came out with the Taurus III years ago but couldn't spend $2K+ on one. Perhaps one day!
It sounds like it looks, like the runt of the Pro One litter.
I loooove this but.......what I really want is a Pro5 knobby poly please moar voiziz
Yeah need that too.
A pro 5 at this size would be awesome! I have no more room in my studio for full sized synths!
I wanna know what the “poly” switch is on this .. it’s bottom row.. right side of “arp” switch
One of those has to be coming soon.. these people are on a roll!
@@geraldgoodiii6993 In a different video they said it's for enabling paraphonic mode. That was a prototype though so not sure if the same applies to the final product.
Here are the shortcuts:
1:33 Clean Arp
2:40 Dark PWM
3:36 Dirty Arp
4:23 Filter Punk
5:09 80's Arp
7:20 Sync Industry
Sounds pretty damn fantastic!
Just that vintage intro song makes me wanna buy it...
The Pro-1 and Neutron imho are the cream of the crop. Can’t afford one now but that gives me some breathing space for the initial feeding frenzy to subside. Thanks for the epic demo!!
This is it, though I have to many synths, and eurorack modules. This sounds amazing!
Sounds so good!
Sounds bloody good. Well done Uli.
