One of my friend sent me your video. I watched it from bismillah to khatam shud. Lahore, the cultural capital of northern India before partition. My grand father went to Lahore,in his youth, without telling his parents. The city of ghama,bholu and imam bakhsh, the city of Sikh warriors, khatri business men, the educational institutions established by sir ganga ram. The city of anarkali and mausoleum of jahangeer, the fort of moghuls, the Shahi masjid and grave of Allama Iqbal. The sweet of Lahore, the dishes of chicken and payas. Your representation is remarkable.
Mesmerising, the walled city is wonderful. Presently, there are two viable industries in Pakistan, one is marriage hall and the second is housing societies. When you lived in walled city, there was no need to move to an expansive housing society which is overburdening our utilities and eating up our fertile land. The Lahorites used to have marriage ceremonies in their homes. One thing probably, you may like to revisit again and that is mochi darwaza ground which is a hub of cricket, football, kabbaddi, and kite flying all at the same time. No politician would graduate and be taken seriously unless he delivers a fiery speech in Mochi gate jalsa ground. This was famous ground for many politicians including Bhutto (of all kinds), nawabzadas of all sorts and mullas from all schools of thought. Many were stopped because of section 144 and others by spraying water in the ground. Last I heard myself, the speech of Benazir and she became PM only few month after that, and rest we all know.
