    So glad i seen this, i was going to buy this when it came out not long ago, when it was £120. But decided not to as the price went up to £180, its now available in EU for £130 so iv just ordered one for here in the U.K. Seems like a really well designed plane with tons of room for long range flights

    I'd screw an undercart plate on the bottom of it Andrew...It could be quite short and stout with it being a twin...Safer than chucking such a big plane, and it means you could load it up with more Lipos as you test it's carrying capacity.

      Hard to hold the wide body but it actually takes off very easily, plenty of power

    Amazing how many of these get sent out with the wrong kit 😳 You're lucky you were only missing a part you didn't need, I was missing a wing joiner and half a nacelle! Enjoy flying it, will be like a feather compared to mine which carries a 1,300g 6S 10,000mah Lipo.

      @@AndrewNewton Cheers Andrew, glad you found it useful. One thing I had to do since that video was take a few mm off each of the main wing spars. Do you find that the first wing goes on with ease but then the second one is a bit tough? If yes it's because the spars are like mine and a bit too long, touching each other and forcing the fuselage apart slightly. After taking a few mm off the wings go on with ease now.

    Hi mate, I do have 2 of those planes and I got disapointed with it, I tried already several motor and props and battery setups and I can tell that apart from being a really good looking plane, it is not made for heavy lifting and endurance... to have endurance you can't put payload on it and the maximum I got was 1 and an half hours of flight. Like the binary, its wingspan is too short for the purpose they propose for the plane.
    If the goal is to fly for long periods of time with payload like mapping cameras or other type of sensors than I really propose something like the Pro version which has near 2 meters or the new MakeFlyEasy Fighter with 2.5m.
    The nacelles are not designed to assist the ESCs in case of damage, once glued you will not have more access to them AND they are fragile, I had the bad luck of braking one prop which originated violent vibrations and because of that the nacelle just exploded and I ended with an hang motor and ESC. I am now designing new carbon fiber nacelles to replace the new ones and, who knows, sell them as a third party parts.
    Here you can check me testing the prototypes (far from being the final model)
    ruclips.net/video/s2xZlDup88w/видео.html
    I have also made replaceable kevlar belly protections which weights only 80 grams
    Apart from these negative points, it is a nice plane, but only that
    Take care & stay safe.

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  3 года назад

      Great advice thanks, you have really tested it out

    • @nfvisuals
      @nfvisuals 3 года назад

      @@AndrewNewton Yes I did, just let me tell you more thing, with those X2212 motors you are not going far, I can see that you have plenty of hardware so try to find something like a 2814 or so, thats the PnP motor size, currently I am flying with a DYS BE4108-480kv motor with a 13x6.5 carbon prop and thats the better power to endurance ratio setup... yes, I know, it is a multicopter motor and prop, but as you might know, multicopter motors and props are the most efficient ones you can find..
      Later on I can supply you with the new nacelles (when finished) and kevlar belly protection for you to review if you have interest on it.
      Take care.

      Only issue is that I live in Singapore where fpv and long range (my thing) is justifiably forbidden, and I end up taking my planes to Australia and Brazi in the luggage to enjoy the hobby, so size and portability is an issue. But this Crosswind is indeed 0:04 a beauty to miss...

    Hello Andrew! I could not see Sunnysky X2212 1100kV motors? Could it be X2216 1100kV that you had used on this plane? I am going to build a similar lightweight setup like yours, so I appreciate any inputs about it.

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  2 года назад +1

      The 1100kv motors came from a ZOHD model. Maybe look for 1250kv or whatever is close and available. 2216 would be fine too.
