Since rh was leaving the next year drew should have stayed the " dark prince " of the buke family w/ bo being the viki to Todd's drew. It gave bo & Nora serious conflict the next year. The mistake was having this actor as drew leave ( he was much better than the recast ) & having him become a cop. Their was so much history to use since Asa married becky & was a father to drew when bo was busy w/ Delilah than didi. Bo worked much better as regretful father the next year & Asa starting choosing blood grandson drew over adopted Kevin & Joey who hated drew when he returned. Making drew some cop who started tampering w/ evidence was a bad way to go. Then everyone suddenly loved drew when Rachel came out as Georgie killer. Finally some serious conflict in the buke family w/ one of their own. Lines drawn. Asa bo & Drew's dynamic is pretty fascinating. The fact that drew wasn't some long lost kid but really was born on the show & Asa raised him til Becky walked was real history they should have used. Instead they wound up killing off drew. Instead of Nora & bo splitting cause of new pushed character Sam I can see bo not forgiving Nora for throwing drew under the bus to get bo released. The nail in the coffin was while Nora was calling drew a loser & trailer trash to bos face it was her kid Rachel that was the killer & let bo rot in jail & Nora never apologized to bo for Rachel or blaming drew & bo looked like he wanted to blow a gasket when Nora started babying Rachel & had no problem trying to run w/ Rachel leaving bo in the dust. Man Nora was written God awful in 98 & when drew died its no wonder bo pushed Nora away. She hated drew. So when bo shit Nora out she was furious & made up a baby b/c bo wanted solitude. But bo was supposed to be fine w/ Nora running w/ Rachel? Ugh.
Mel deserves what Dorian did. She came to him about drew as his gf in confidence not for him to make it a story. Viki went to jail protecting a source. She never would have told Mel if it was gonna be a story.
