How can MLB not promote this series? It should be the premier baseball game every time it's on.
Because it's not Dodgers Giants Yankees red sox or cardinals or braves. The rangers haven't been a consistent winning franchise till now.

Josh H. Smith looks like a whole new batter so far this season the new swing is cooking. Having him and Duran is also great for the team since they both can play any INF position. The depth all around is so great.
One of them has to be demoted when Jung and Lowe come back. Foscue will be sent down, but either Smith or Duran will get optioned.

@@austinewing397 We can only have 4 bench spots. Jankowski, Knizner, and Walsh have gotten them. Having a 7-man bullpen is really curious but worrisome.
@vttheary when Lowe comes back, I believe Foscue gets sent back down. If we option Walsh, there's a chance another team can steal him, not to mention, Walsh has been doing well so far.

9th game of the year for the Astros woes on offense continues. Pitching must be addressed but don't count the Astros out yet. Just win and take it a game at a time.
The fact the rangers are this strong even with Josh Jung who was hitting like a mad man out, thats scary when he gets back. They are so deep is almost unfair. if garcia, seager, and Siemen are in the lineup, rangers will be a tough team to beat on any night.
This game shows how the game is played on a knife edge. The least little error in catching or throwing can allow base movement or scoring.
Slow start by my stros I’m not worried still early in the season

Huge Rangers fan here, I was at this game! The Astros have to cut ties with Jose Abreu at 1st..He’s just an easy out and even if he gets on base, he is extremely slow. Plus they should reorder their lineup.

Can’t be a rivalry cause they’ve only been good at the same time once, which was last year. The Astros have been good for 7 years, and the Rangers have been good for about 10 minutes. Talk when the Rangers go to 7 straight ALCS’ and win 2 rings.
It could be a rivalry maybe this year, then, because neither team should be terrible.

I never said the Astros have been better long term, cause we know that isn’t true. But the last 7 years, it hasn’t been close. The Astros were far and away better.

Secondly, your logic could use some improvment if you think that a variable group of baseball players HAVE to start slow every year simply because it's just what they do. Every season is unique and you're just avoiding the issue that there's something not right with the Astros. Good try though.

@@gravitykat714 The projections (not predictions) are based on all of the information that they have available to them, including what's happened so far this season.
The projections will be adjusted as the season goes, but at this point the projections correctly show (and my point is) that it is way too early to be saying the Astros will be a bad team this season.
It is much more likely that they will strongly contend as they have been doing for many years.

First of all, your grammar needs some work. It's "lost THEIR powers" not "lost they powers". And the Astros just beat your team to split the series - so you assumed too much that the Astros are "done" just because your team won the first 2 games. So no, the Rangers haven't "broken" the Astros at all as they're alive and well and will continue to be extremely competitive for years to come.

@7:02 When the batter hits the ball to the shortstop and the ball is caught in the air, the hitter is then out and the runner from first has to tag back to the base. But would it be allowed for the infield player to intentionally drop the ball after catching it? He then would be able to step on the second base, forcing the out on the runner from first, then throw to first to get the hitter out for a double play?
The infield fly rule in baseball and softball is when an umpire declares that certain fly balls have been caught, even if the infielder doesn't catch them or drops them on purpose. The rule's purpose is to prevent the defense from making a double or triple play by intentionally missing a catch that an infielder could catch easily.

IF I was an online bettor... I would have made over $22,000 last year betting on Leclerc coming in as reliever. Using "Monopoly money", I wagered on him hitting a batter, throwing a wild pitch, walking in the tying/winning run, loading the bases.
So far this year, I am ahead $700.00 just on his first appearance and last nights games. Too bad they got rid of Chapman for all the gamblers out there.

Braves, Yankees, those teams are also 6-2 and playing lights out baseball, if you didn't witness the utter gut punches of 2010-2011, and every abysmal season after up until last year, then you would understand why people are rightfully celebrating their team finally being a potential continued juggernaut. Same as the other fan bases of those teams being loud and proud, leave people alone.
Texas Rangers are one of the only teams I can think that went on one huge FA spending spree and had it work out perfectly.
