- In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 2006 Buick Rendezvous CXL. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of the Rendezvous while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this crossover designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
I love that color. It's actually called cappuccino frost metallic. It was also available on the Impala and Monte Carlo
I didn’t know that thank you so much !!!! 🥰
I liked this car so much when I bought it 5 years ago that I bought another Rendezvous! I love the handling, the high seating position and the 7 passenger capacity. I love the big wheels. I have never seen these cars overly rusted even here in salt-infested wintry Canada. None of my 2 Rendesvouz were rusted, this is the reason I bought this car again. Good product Buick!
Did you have any issues with the a.b.s.
@@fyreghost4714 Nope I have not had ANY issues with ABS with neither of my 2 Rendezvous.
My parents just bought this car last November and it runs nicely! We had my aunt’s old old one from even earlier before and it started having troubles so we had to get rid of it and had a silver Chevy mini van for a while, then it got the same problems and we got this Rendezvous and it’s the best car we’ve had in a while!
I’ve had my 06 rendezvous for about 6 years now and now has 211k on the dash. Been in the family since 08. Such a good vehicle for hauling stuff for ebay and all that jazz. The cargo space for even having the second row up is incredible still runs and drives great. I’ll keep it going until she gives out!
still far better looking than many of today's crossover products. I always thought the Buick Rendezvous was pretty.
Hakeem Mulholland it is indeed , even in 2017
Hakeem Mulholland I like the interior!
Hakeem M I agree
Hakeem M better looking than it's sister, The god-awful Pontiac Aztek.
It sucks tho mine needs something new every month since I’ve gotten it for a year and a half. It’s not slow but needs maintenance like crazy
I owned an 04, one of the best vehicles I have owned. Very comfortable, smooth ride, amazingly peppy for a V6 SUV, surprising fuel economy for a SUV and just all around a great vehicle. I loved that thing lol.
Looked classy for an SUV of it's age. Damn, the last year I owned it I beat the crap out of it and it never failed me.
I have on 07 with factory navigation and the overhead dvd entertainment. very rare to find that. my buick has 243k on it and still looks and drives mint.
CerebralAssassin1977 still?
CerebralAssassin1977 is the car still running?
@@shellybelle6781 yes I still have it. Runs perfect with 305,000kloms on it. Had a slight electrical problem but that has since been corrected. Other than that still looks near mint.
CerebralAssassin1977 one is for sale it has 159k miles on it and I’m thinking it’s too many miles. How long that will last. I’m a little scared to not get a new car. And I normally get a Honda or Toyota. What cha think?
@@shellybelle6781 all depends on how well it was maintained and taken care of etc. I find these model years are more durable and better made then newer vehicles. Newer vehicles are cheaply made. Look at how many owners on it and overall condition of vehicle. The cost etc.
Underrated car, this thing is beautiful! Love the Column Shifted Buicks!
Still feel the same?
@@acking1502
Yes
The rendezvous is ugly asf
The Rendezvous is the same as the Aztek, yet, somehow, this looks almost entirely like a different car.
Now that's how you "rebadge" a vehicle.
Isn’t it also the same as a Chevy Trail Blazer (Frail Blazer)? I know it’s the same as the Aztek
Its not the same as a trailblazer which uses a body on frame design. This car rides on a modified platform of the GM U-body chassis like the related pontiac aztek. But the uplander, pontiac montana SV6, venture, oldsmobile silhouette and the pontiac transport (97-99 only) are all U-body minivans.
@@jacobfountain5986 oops I thinking about the Buick Rainer that was based on the Trail Blazer
@@Djevan41598 It's all good. They do look similar in some aspects lol.
@@jacobfountain5986 the Saab 97x, Isuzu Ascender, Buick Rainer, GMC Envoy, and Oldsmobile Bravada are all the same car
I just got me an 06 rendezvous, I like it, it's roomy and I got a great deal on it
Michael Avery are you still pleased and what about the head gaskets?
Steve Warren only if he has the 3.4
Who is fluffy? I hear the 3.6 has a ton of issues. My brother did, anyway. Leaks coolant + loads of electrical issues = thousands of dollars in repairs
Lincolnator wouldn’t know I have only had an 06 3.5 and it runs very nice
He probably died because his steering wheel malfunctioned lol
I have owned my 2006 Rendezvous CXL since 2009. It has 120k miles on it and no problems right now. I had the fuel pump replaced this spring and have replaced the starter, alternator, water pump, all the spark plug coils, and all the spark plugs. I get 15 mpg cit driving.
1:13 that start-up sounds good
I was a over the road truck driver for 35 yrs, Got the car 2006. It has 30,000 miles on it. All ways parked. Still like a new car to me. Dusting off the cob webs
How much did you pay for?
Call me crazy, but I like it!
BladeEdge1221 BOY double comment much
your crazy 😂😂
@@univ3rs372 me 2
Wow these are more impressive than I thought!
That was the best car our family ever had...we had the ultra model...we loved it
My neighbors have a rendezvous that is the exact same as this but also has traction control
It's the relative who was ashamed of the aztek so I played dress up at the family gathering at the last minute
Hahahah
FINALLY! A review on something I can actually afford! ;)
An SUV I noticed a lot of in my childhood. Probably a bit radical for its time before the SUV craze really started to ramp up, if Buick introduced this today it would been a lot more popular I reckon. Still the Enclave, Envision & Encore all seem to be doing quite well.
We bought a used 2004 cxl Rendezvous,at 100,000 miles we had to replace a hub and shorted out wheel bearing sensor.I added a bug guard and window flares, and it really improves the look.t rides very smooth ,has nav, system and chrome wheels(16").I would give it a 4 star if you have extended warranty and some TLC.Again it rides nice ,like a Buick large sedan.
Check out my review on my gma's 04 Rendezvous. Might the be one similar to yours.
After all these years.... I finally found you
This is my dream SUV! Awesome job bro.
Bro I thought you wanted a Jeep Cherokee
Atleast it looks better than the Pontiac Aztek.
@@AnieshaWhitt hahahahahah
Looks like a better Version not it
Says who?
Both are awful
I love the Aztec
5:50 nothing like blasting REO Speedwagon in a Buick Rendezvous.
The interior looks fantastic.
Mine has 194,000 miles. Original engine and transmission.
My daughter had one of those. With 125, 000 miles on it, it started overheating badly. I am a mechanic, and I already had a pretty good idea what was wrong with it. I checked the radiator and found it plugged up with DEXKILL. I went ahead and pulled the front head, and my worst fears were confirmed. The entire engine, including the water jackets around the cylinders was completely plugged up with solidified DEXKILL. The cost of a new engine was more than what the vehicle was worth, so it got sold for scrap. Do not buy a GM vehicle made after 1995. They started using DEXKILL in 1996, they know what it does, and continue to use it anyway. Since they do know about it, the only thing I can think of is they want it to destroy their engines at low mileage. This is a major scandal, and I don't understand why so many people don't know about it. Most mechanics know about it, other than the ones unable to think for themselves, the ones who are not mechanically inclined, who went to school to become mechanics/technicians, and insist on following the book word for word, even when it is wrong, which it is a good part of the time with newer cars.
These cars have the best large side mirrors and back window offer great visibility. Very safe car
I just bought one. Pretty nice.
the engine on the 2002-2007 Buick Rendezvous
Engine
3.4 L LA1 V6
3.5 L LX9 V6
3.6 L LY7 V6
I rode in two Rendezvous's in my lifetime, and I'd recommend one to anyone! :-)
Thanks getting one as a gift looks good
Thanks everyone I'm not going to make the mistake of purchasing one!
I have an 03 CXL with only 95K miles on it. Shits only 6 years younger than me but it hasn't caused me any issues, it being a Florida car was definitely a positive
I like it.....and is considering this for my first car
I have an 03 that's my first car, great for hauling people, things, and it's easy on gas
i just got a 2004, 3.4 v6, fwd, it gets 24 mpg if i eggshell the gas pedal, half city half highway! just as good as honda crv 4 cylinder
Kaela Pierce no hold out for a car that's going to respect you and maybe hung bigger that first time only happens once!
Kaela Pierce Did u get one yet???
My mom almost bought an Aztek, this is much nicer! The hatch looks like it's a lot easier to get into LOL...great video as always Kyle!
the 2002-2007 Buick Rendezvous was assembled in
Ramos Arizpe, Mexico
I'm proud to say my 2004 Rendezvous CX 3.4l AWD has 178,200 miles and climbing. This is my first vehicle. My mom's friend got a new car and we bought her old one. It had been sitting for a year. We changed the oil, new battery, changed the transmission fluid, put on new tires, new rotors and brake pads, new wipers, and new window regulators. We are also putting on new struts and shocks. My only complaint is it doesn't have seat warmers.
Lol 😂wonder hows it doing now. Looking to buy one w/ 100k miles.
I love how the Aztec looks :)
It’s a fair buick identity. The designers didn’t just rebadge it, they made it more curvy. Like how Lincoln Town Car is more sinuous than Ford Crown Victoria.
Your nuts
I've had one since 2007, it's a good car for a car that was designed in 2002. Very roomy and smooth ride. Takes a lot of gasoline tho
better on gas than other cars around the same size/weight. 4,250+ lbs., heavy as a ford crown victoria interceptor and the crown vic has a full-frame bumper to bumper.
Yes and mines awd it gets like 19 mpg no matter what lol
Finally some real honesty about the gas guzzler, 🤔
Always loved it.
This car is dope!!!
just bought this same model but a little more miles preety ok i enjoy it
I can certainly comment on the 2006 CXL as it's been a pretty good car. The interior is very comfortable and its very comfortable on the road. Is 21 MPG good enough these days? No - I'd like to have more, but this car is not light and is not small. The little cars that get great mileage but scary in a crash. The big 3 German cars are generally well built. They are now getting better mileage - but they have always been very safe. Something thats much more important than mileage.
Not bad at all! GM really did a great job in trying to compete with the Lexus RX330 and Acura MDX! Of course, I was a fan of GM up to 2007 before the bailout but even then, I would still go with Lexus and even Acura before GM.
2006 Buick Rendezvous CXL, 85,647 miles
Nice clean car
Mom used to have this! Kinda miss it.
Hey can you take a look at a Pontiac Aztec
I just traded in my 2004 Rendezvous for a 2013 Toyota Tacoma. It had 190,000 miles on it. haha It was the best car I've ever owned.
I heard that the Aztecs were reliable even though they were funky looking. I'm imagining the same can be said for the rendezvous. They nice enough, nothing jaw dropping but seems like decent a to b.
I like this better than the Enclave.
I like grand national better than that old junk
It's probably a good city car though easy to park good view of the road
I'm honestly not seeing why this is being called ugly, it's a mid-sized SUV, and looks like one. It looks a million times better than it's brother, the Aztek.
The Buick Rendezvous was built in Ramos Arizpe (near Satillo), Coahuila, Mexico.
my opinion on the Rendezvous is a 7/10
I say 4/10. It's reliable, and pretty good on gas for the most part. But Leg room is a disappointed for it to be a 3rd row suv. It has No trunk space with 3rd row in use, styling is bland for a premium built car of that year. All around it's a good car but lacks all the major characteristics of a premium, 7 passenger, family suv. However, It definitely is a car to consider for a used 3rd row suv for around $5k more or less.
Kyle why always the cars you review have nearly no fuel ?
The Rendezvous' styling was too old for the time in which it was built.
That's why I like it
I feel like that's what all Buicks were at the time
I disagree. I think the Rendezvous aged very well.
I currently drive a platinum 2003 Buick Rendezvous CX, which hit 80K last December. I inherited it from my late grandmother (had about 65K on it when she died). It's been so far so good, yet it recently gave me a SERVICE TRACTION SYSTEM message. Subsequently, it started making a grinding noise when I accelerate. Could that be linked to the ABS/traction system? Will be serviced soon.
Can someone explain to me how do you count how many speeds/gears a car has?
My 2004 rendezvous has 6, but every review or ad says this car is 4-speed car??? I don't get it?
Very cool!
How do the fuel economy figures adjust under two wheel drive configuration? Any noticeable gain?
i've been requesting this for a while now.any chance if you find one you could do a review on an Chevrolet Captiva the 7 seater one.Holden Captiva Series II captiva 7.in America is is known as the Chevrolet Captiva SS 2011-2012 i believe.
Отличный автомобиль!!!
It does if you move the middle seats up. But then the people in the middle have no room. It really only works for children or a short family. I'm 6'5'', my wife is 5'11'', my son is 6'5'', and my 13 year old daughter is 5'9''. We had no use for the 3rd row when we owned it. It was a very good car. It had 190,000 miles on it before we traded it off for a 2013 Ford Explorer.
yet another job well done kyle. as always. ive not seen a bad one yet. and i doubt i will. even if you did do one not up to par, it would still be loads better than the clone reviewers out there. whotry to mimic you. youve set the example my friend. BTW the make a wish foundation video is your best one EVER.
In 2006 all GM could squeeze out of a 3.5 V6 was 195HP/215TQ? The Nissan VQ35 was producing 265HP/246TQ since 2004.
Great car
That will definitely be my car when I get into 10th grade
@saabkyle04 how about the Chevrolet Captiva SS 7 seater.i believe that is in the states.
Time to get back to Buick.
Huh... I have a friend that just got the new Jetta TDI. I think it's a nice looking car. I have a 2012 Chevrolet Impala and a 2013 Toyota Highlander. I really like both of them!
Hey Kyle, how much was that particular one going for? i want it lol
Hey, Kyle i just subscribed i am wondering do you have a job or do you just do this all the time?. I know this is personnal so you do not have to answer. Nice videos
I owned an 04, very very hideous, but I liked it. So comfortable, and peppy for an SUV(although top speed is slow as shit) I beat the living crap out of that thing and it kept going. It went threw 3 accidents, and my girlfriend driving it like a ferrari, no maintenance at all and every mechanic told me it was trouble-free by the time I sold it, pains me to say it but I loved it. decent fuel economy for the size of the vehicle and never once failed me no matter how hard we beat it!
Can you do a review on a Toyota fj cruiser before they go off the market
I do have a buick rendezvous 2007. I 'M LOOKING FOR another buick
@holdencommstra Try looking up Saturn Vue. I don't think Kyle has a review for that but I think that would be the closest vehicle to the Captiva in the US. Chevy doesn't sell anything with the Captiva name in the US.
The guy who searched “randevu” has entered the chat.
finnaly a buick
I want to buy one btwn 16-18 years old. I love the interior and exterior!
You should do a review of a 2000 deawoo longonza
will do thank you
I'm only here to see how the name is pronounced
hahahaha 😂
Ron-day-voo
I have no idea why, but I pronounced it with a z in there :/
It's French for liaison.... Secret date or discreet ...no hooker...rhon day voo I worked at a French restaurant called Le Rondevoux Famous for the Cheatoubraon with Bearnaise sauce braised table side with triple sec flaming ...no not me the fuckin presentation! With escargo as an appetizer.... To die for!
Rondayvoo (not Rendeezvoos)
i assume the buick enclave was the successor to the rendevous?
Yes
Glad buick has change their design.
I think the enclave was made to replace this
Much bigger, heavier, and lower mileage. I don't know why they discontinued the Rendezvous.
will you do the range rover evoque?
@Joseph9536 Mine had a 3.4 v6, but that was an 04 year. Always had mechanics telling me how reliable they are, intact a mechanic actually bought mine off me when I upgraded to something newer/higher end!
I believe it's a older engine than the one in the Impala, it's a little more fuel efficient/lightweight than the one in the Buick.
That thing was easy to work on lol.
think I might buy one
can you do a tour of a new sienna xle...like a 11 or 12
the transmission on the 2002-2007 Buick Rendezvous
Transmission
4-speed automatic
Guys let me tell u a fact the Pontiac Aztec isn't actually a Aztec it's a Pontiac Montana but GM designed it as a SUV
Call some thing ugly,This is the real deal
Hey you know buick terraza cxl is so awesome like a buick rendezvous
@willy2madre thats only on the cars that are have them a lot of his videos dont have them if you look
I drive a tow truck and let me just say I've towed my fair share of these, and most cases which ever repair shop I bring them to the mechanics don't have much good to say about this vehicle. They all say it's junk.
Robert 3400 V6 head gasket failure?
We'll usually it's a situation where it's one problem after another. The similar thing about when I tow one of these they are all very poorly taken care of, lots of garbage inside the car and very dirty so maybe it has to do with the owner not doing preventive maintenance or caring for the vehicle which could attribute to the problem.
Robert is the Pontiac aztec just as bad
Robert you should know...what's a good car?
That's because the engine in these, the way the engine is it's built like a minivan. You can't access hardly anything in the engine bay 🤣 without taking the motor mounts out and tilting the engine. That's the only way you can do a tune up! Smart thinking on GM's part. It costs at least $1,000 to do a tune up.
this car came out before the bucik enclave.
That’s a good car for high school
