Mitch was saying about coaching, it’s great. I would love to go on rides like this so having someone explain what to do and give tips is really helpful even for someone who’s not at the level to do that yet.

There was a time when that grey Suzuki Samurai was mine, and I had a lot of fun in the Mogadouro area. I love your videos exploring amazing places. Portugal is a great place to ride a bike! 👊✊✌

You guys needs to buy a little alarmed disc lock, it wont stop a bike getting stolen, but at least it will make a racket that you'll hear if the bikes not too far away at night. I use them all the time, even if wild camping in the middle of nowhere, ride safe guys.

Monimoto also a good idea or some other kind of tracker, Itchy Boots bike stolen in Iraq last week and she got it back very quickly👍

@@nikduffield5457 I agree, and have trackers on my bikes and other vehicles, but, I still believe that an alarmed disc lock is the absolute best first line of defence. Most thieves would walk away rather than risk creating a load of noise, and bringing attention to themselves, I know that professional bike thieves will take the bike whatever, but you really won't stop them ! Trackers are great, as a second line of defence, but they won't stop people taking your bike away and damaging it like they did to Noraly's.

When you arrive in Alentejo there will be large off-road dirt roads, Alentejo is the scene of many rally raids. consult gpx track in the Évora/Estremoz/Avis/Portalegre area.
    Good trip

Yes, it's a bullring. It's a small "portable" one that would be typically rented to town halls for the local yearly festival. They fight bulls in the South of France, Spain, and Portugal, as well as in many countries in Central and South America (and North America if you count Mexico as North America).

Lovely place, great view. Happy New Year and lots of adventures, Günter/Nürnberg PS: I saw a bull ring last week in Nazaré (but no monster waves) and was as sursprised as you.

Is that the Douro River? If so it comes out into the Atlantic just north of Porto which is a great city to visit...

Jimmy’s are tiny inside…..barely enough room for a sausage dog in the back and no luggage space at all. So then you need a trailer or a roof box and you still need a rooftop tent!!
    Best bet is a Defender 300tdi 110 mate😊👍

Eh eh eh … that “lake view” is actually the DOURO RIVER, and you guys have a front row view to a region recognized by UNESCO as WORLD HERITAGE, since its the birth place of the famous O’PORTO WINE
The DOURO RIVER flows through Spain and Portugal, and comes to meet the ATLANTIC Ocean int the city of PORTO (and also Gaia, on the South margin of the River, where I live and am writimg this coment from)
Hence the name “O’PORTO WINE” since the grapes grow up there, where you spent the night, but then got shipped down the river to the warehouses in PORTO and GAIA, and from there got boat-shipped across the World.
Next time you come through PORTUGAL, do spend a bit more time exploro g the PORTO District, please 🙌🏼🙏🏼🍷🍇🇵🇹
