I never knew about shirt stays and if a guy took his pants off during sexy time and had one of them on, I would seriously be thinking wtf! Something new I learnt.
For the bathroom conundrum...there are shirt stays that have a piece that wrap around your upper thigh instead of all the way down to the socks. easier to unclip from your shirt when you sit down and don't have to worry about getting all the way down to your socks and under your pants to reclip like the traditional. The only disadvantage is your socks won't be held up, but i never have this problem anyway so this is a perfect solution for me.
I did that too. But when I bent down, my female colleagues saw my shirt was tucked into my underwear and they laughed. I stopped tucking in ever since. Damn.
I've used shirt stays for awhile now and love them. They're as you said, not for everyday use, but great when looking to add that little extra something to your appearance.
Yes, the alternating tuck made sense perfectly the way you explained. Super informative video (btw, that pale blue color makes you look washed out & pale)
WOW! I always thought those were some type of weird suspenders or something for somebody's grandpa. I'm so glad I know about this now it's always been a mystery how to avoid my shirt muffin top or the scrunched socks at the ankles. This kills two birds in one stone. I am really looking fwd to trying those shirt stays! Having no control over my shirt and socks ruins the whole mood. I don't even feel clean anymore. Can't wait to try this out! Thanks!
As a custom tailor I would say , just get a shirt with a high armhole, so the shirt doesnt pull out. As well a proper pant rise will hold it in nicely. This does not suffice for good tailoring
+Steve Pelman I've never had a shirt with a high enough armhole that it completely solves this problem. Seems like it would too far into armpit territory. Don't get me wrong, I like high armholes, but why not have both?
I'm in downtown Seattle. I went to Macy's and Nordstroms. Both had older gentleman working in menswear that proceeded to look at me like I was from the future when I mentioned "shirt stays". After explaining what a "shirt stay" was the guy at Macy's was like "So...you can't really kick very well with them on eh'?" I left.
They don't look any different of course... because your pants are covering them. And you really don't feel them when you are sitting down. But as Brock said, they do take a little bit of getting used to in the beginning.
The way you have them in the video.. it seems you will be sitting on it which is not very comfortable. If they are in the front of your legs.. that's not comfortable either. If they are on the side, I can see it forming a weird elastic band in the pants that will pull my pants in an awkward way which will not look good from the side. Aghh.. I can't wrap my head around this.
I wear shirt stays every day and in my experience they really don't show enough to be noticeable. The most visible part when sitting down is the elastic causes an ever so slight bit of bunching behind the knees when sitting because the elastic is trying to contract around a 90 degree corner. Unless you are wearing very thin pants or very bulky shirt stays they will not be noticeable.
It's only funny if you pull down your pants... in public... but i couldn't agree more. "shirt stays" is by far the best way to keep your shirt tucked in. and you can just buy elastic band and safety pin (in emergency).
One crucial point you've missed out regarding KK&J shirt stays - due to their design, THEY WILL BE SEEN THROUGH YOUR TROUSERS, ESPECIALLY IF YOU BEND YOUR LEGS, THROUGH WALKING ETC OR FROM GETTING UP AND TRANSITIONING INTO WALKING, THEY WILL BE SEEN. IN ADDITION, YOUR TROUSERS CAN SNAG ON TO THE SUPPORTING LEATHER PART OF THE SHIRT STAYS, RAISING YOUR TROUSERS AS A RESULT. THE PERFECT SOLUTION IF YOURE THE TYPE OF GUY TO STAND UP STRAIGHT ALL DAY, AND BARELY BEND YOUR KNEES.
I would also recommend you get a shirt that fits right. One where the shirt along the body, comes all the way up to your arm pit. It gives your shirt less chance of continuing out
I don't unclip them, I found at least for me that when i begin to sit the garters loosen tension. So as you are sitting just slowly lift your shirt up.
They are not uncomfortable at all UNLESS YOU GET CHEAP ONES. I bought a cheap set off of amazon, I think they were about ten bucks, and the metal bits were so rough and unfinished I actually cut my leg on them. I wrapped the metal parts that were too sharp in electrical tape and it fixed the issue, but who wants to have electrical tape as part of their outfit?? Just get a decent pair and you'll be fine.
Get tips!! I think shirt stays are the way to go. Tucking into the underwear is unique. Thanks for the demo and thanks to keep that as a "PG" rating. LOL
Here's some info: www.themodestman.com/2013-fall-style-from-peter-manning-nyc/ www.themodestman.com/peter-manning-review/ I've got another post coming on the 18th to showcase their leather jacket. Stay tuned!
I’m not a fan of the slide-lock style of shirt stays. I prefer the clip style. Much easier to put on, takes no time at all to put on and I don’t have the fear that the slides are going to come undone and snap along the side of my leg.
Hi man, can you please help me with where to buy jackets from? hoodies and casual jackets for university. I'm 5"5 and the small sizes are always too long in length. And extra small is just too tight. I'd really appreciate the help
hi, thanks for responding. the only problem is I've actually checked this website. but I just want to dress simply to university. also its a bit too pricey for me atm, although i would fork out for the rigjt product, im looking for things like bomber jackets and hoodies, any other websites you know if?
Oh my bad, I just checked the website the link took me too and didn't scroll down to see the recommendation . HOWEVER, I have now check all of them and not found anything I would buy (well i found 1 sweater that i really liked however it was out of stock and also super pricey. on one website I found some jeans however the jeans were too baggy fitting. I prefer slim jeans. any more ideas where I could shop? really need to nice new jackets too, but the ones I see are always too long on me
You don't really feel them after a while. It's kind of like wearing over the calf for the first time. You're very aware of them at first, but then they kind of disappear.
I can't say for sure because I haven't used them enough. But I think you'd have to wear them a LOT with the same socks to notice any wear and tear. The clips don't really have sharp edges, so it's not very rough on your socks.
The one thing I never see mentioned anywhere, and because no one mentions it I'm wondering if I'm alone in this, but shirt tails staying tucked in. I notice that I can tuck my shirt in and it looks great on the front and the sides, but the back looks all puffy and balloons out. I notice it on so many people and it's really unflattering. But does anyone know a fix for this, can anyone actually pull off not having that? That's my biggest frustration.
The only thing that is annoying about these shirt stays is when you have to untuck and tuck them whenever you have to sit. There are shirt stays available now that offer the solution to that. They have belt like structure that you wear on your thighs and no more worrying while sitting. Maybe make a video on those Brock?
Hello, Thank you for this truly helpful video ! I would like to buy these things from KKandJay but I'm wearing skinny jeans (not spray on jeans) and I'm afraid that my jeans show the shirt stays as they are pretty tight and stretchy... Do you think it'll be visible or not ?
+willywallybangbang I think Jose from TMF did that if you want to see the results. They definitely work but if you lift your arms all the way over your head, your tuck isn't going to stay perfectly neat. I don't think anything could prevent that!
If you're reading this, you should go watch my new (and much better) version of this video --> ruclips.net/video/dVsyiVra4h4/видео.html
I have been using the combination of number two and three for more than 15 years. It is simple and works like charm.
I never knew about shirt stays and if a guy took his pants off during sexy time and had one of them on, I would seriously be thinking wtf! Something new I learnt.

Can you point me to a brand? I'm in the same boat.
Actually bought shirtstays after this video! It certainly kept my shirt tucked in. Professional look as I'm a doctor! Thank you!
Lol I've tucked my undershirt into my underwear all my life. Didn't know it was a thing.
bleukreuz I used to critisize my older brother for doing it.I feel like an idiot now.
You would love Tucked Trunks thenn
Same here, all my life without knowing it was a thing.
Me too! I am doing it all my life without even knowing that it's a good thing.
I did that too. But when I bent down, my female colleagues saw my shirt was tucked into my underwear and they laughed. I stopped tucking in ever since. Damn.

Hrk583 how they feel when you sit down, and why you have to unclip the socks?
Bought a pair of shirt stays on your recommendation and it has honestly changed the way I dress. They work amazingly well.
+Rabonour glad to hear that!
The first one is the one that I'm currently using and is the best one
Nice!
Shirt tale garters are the best, Brock. And like Dale mentioned, you do not have to unhook the garters from your socks when going to the bathroom.
Yeah, shirt tale garters and pink lipstick
I wear the shirt stays all the time. Love them. Work great
Have you seen these, i really like them :)

KK and Jay do make amazing shirt stays. I love it. I look sharp all day
Dude.. thank you for introducing shirt stays to me... life saver!
I can vouch for the shirt stays, amazing... can't believe i went through college without them.
Yes, the alternating tuck made sense perfectly the way you explained. Super informative video (btw, that pale blue color makes you look washed out & pale)
Great simple interesting advice. I am 5ft 8 but the advice given not only relates to the shorter guy but every guy. Keep going
Thanks for your time and input...FYI.. its ok to say "whitey Tighty".
recently got those shirt stays from a tmf recommendation. they're made so well, and I've never looked neater :-)
Glad to hear that!
Thank you for the best technique. It really helps me a lot.
WOW! I always thought those were some type of weird suspenders or something for somebody's grandpa. I feel like the undertuck plus the rubber grips would do the job
Damn you keep getting handsomer

Don't bother with stores. Most don't even know what shirt stays are.
I've bought a pair of shirt stays. They do their job, however they show through the trousers especially when you're bending your knee to walk or sit.
Got that Micheal mcconaughey ssss in your voice
Your friend the Kavalier did a video on Shirt Stays and he showed how it isn't necessary to unclip when taking a dump.
how does the shirtstays look and feel while sitting down?

Great video! I honestly hope he intended 3:52 to be a pun. It was "sew" funny.
I wish I could say that was intentional...

im a girl that wears dresses why am I here
Probably because you are curious about the techniques some men use to keep their shirts neatly tucked all the time.
You must buy shirts that fit correctly. They never come loose. Small arm holes allow for rotation without pulling fabric.
3 is working for me 😉
I would also recommend you get a shirt that fits right. One where the shirt along the body, comes all the way up to your arm pit. It gives your shirt less chance of continuing out
True. Lower armholes will cause the shirt to come untucked when you lift your arms. Good point!
love your socks! 💛
I don't unclip them, I found at least for me that when i begin to sit the garters loosen tension. So as you are sitting just slowly lift your shirt up.
Kk and Jay
So nice video bro thanks
I use extra long shirts. Its works well for me
thank you
Undertuck sounds good. I'll give that a try. Thanks.
Undershirt?? I'm learning so much
good tips, shirt stays look terribly uncomfortable.
+John Doe oddly enough, they're not. Wore them to a wedding a couple weeks ago. After a while you don't even know they're there.
They are not uncomfortable at all UNLESS YOU GET CHEAP ONES. Thanx bro.
How did you do your hair in this video? I like the shine and the wave..
Which belt are you using in this video brown one?
I find shirt garters to be perfectly comfortable. But taking a shit is a total chore.

I would do the Undertuck with with the shirt stays... Also you should for general dressing do the undertucking anyway...
I’m not a fan of the slide-lock style of shirt stays. I prefer the clip style. Much easier to put on, takes no time at all to put on and I don’t have the fear that the slides are going to come undone and snap along the side of my leg.

What is an undershirt? and when do you use them?
I love it
Wow 🙌🏾
Can you test "shirt lock" belt?
omg those shirt stay are ridiculous! haggar cool pro 18 pants are awesome..t ..jug ey have the rubber built in and the pants have a slimmer fit
Rubber grip tape doesn’t work nearly as well as shirt stays. Not even close.
OMG You remind me of Rafe Adler:D
I mean you guys have the same voice also
Where did you get this pant please?

I haven’t tried the sockless garters, but I’ve never had trouble sitting with traditional ones.
I use only Clothespin with bilt. It is okkkkk.
Best belts?
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but even just tucked in, my shirt is wrinkled, billowing, and muffin-topped. This was Calvin Klein slim fit too.
Have you tried the techniques in this video?
Hello,
Thank you for this truly helpful video ! I would like to buy these things from KKandJay but I'm wearing skinny jeans (not spray on jeans) and I'm afraid that my jeans show the shirt stays as they are pretty tight and stretchy... Do you think it'll be visible or not ?
I don’t think they’ll show under denim.
Alright, thank you very much. I'll give them a try and tell you what's going on, thanks for your fast reply :D
link to get the rubber bands to saw please
Another issue is that not all dress shirts are made the same way, your size for Brand X might not fit well for Brand Y.
Subscribed. 😉👌🏽
+javier Mendoza 👊🏼
Doesn't this cause wrinkles for thin fabric trousers or khakis when sitting down?
Military here...we've used shirt garters for our dress uniforms forever. You can def poop without taking them off.
Nice
Where can I get shirtstays
I bet you could do a mean Mathew McConaughey impression
Hii man,. I want your help?
i have Mena Pent belt Without pin. so how im use this?
You should have shown yourself moving your arms around while wearing the shirt stay to prove that it works!
+willywallybangbang I think Jose from TMF did that if you want to see the results. They definitely work but if you lift your arms all the way over your head, your tuck isn't going to stay perfectly neat. I don't think anything could prevent that!
where can i buy the garter belt
It suits the shirt
are the shirt stays annoying when you have to sit down, for example a nice dinner?
Nah you don't really feel them when you sit because there's no tension. I'd say the only annoyance is using the bathroom, but it's not a deal breaker.
But what if I like to sag my pants? Can I use shirts stays to keep that tucked-in sagged-pants look everyone loves?!
where can I get the shirt guarder?
+Steven Vinns link in description.
How would you wear them with no show socks?
+Omar Ali they make sockless garters that wrap around your leg below your knee.
That wouldn't happen to be an Anson belt would it?
That it is, my friend!
i ride my motorcycle to my work everyday, can i wear the shirt stays on the motorcycle??
Sure, I don't see why not.
i mean, do i have to unbuckle them from the sock while riding and then re-buckle them after i've gotten off the motorcycle?
+Keyur Deo no I don't think you would have to do that.
Cool. Thanks ton.
Hey what’s up brock
Don't buy the shirt stay which clip to your socks guys, buy the ones which clip to your thigh. Much much easier.
suspenders, and what you might think of when hearing suspenders are actually called braces. At least in traditional English.
you are killing yourself man. Keep yourself relaxed and get into restroom more often when needed

I am not sure. I am from India. I have been familiar with them all my life.
