Thank you so much for this technique! I just started watching your channel and have already learned so much. I can’t tell you how grateful I am you took the time to share these!
*mind blown* I've seen people use this technique to make custom dress forms, I never thought to use it on a doll!! I am definitely going to try this. I will use masking tape instead of duct tape because it can be murder on the fingers. lol Thank you so much for sharing!! 💙 I will have to make a video on how I make patterns so you can see my method. It is quite similar to yours but more complicated. xD
Yeah, I based it on a technique I used to use in costume making and it worked out here, too. I'm actually thinking of trying masking tape as well. Duct tape holds a good shape but the stickiness is pesky sometimes. I want to see how you make yours now! Seems everyone's methods are different. I like that.
Thanks for your videos. My project is very different, but I have learned lots of techniques from you that have been a huge help. This clingwrap/tape trick is so smart.
Thank you so much for sharing this! I use cutting the right length and then cutting holes for the limbs to go through on my smaller dolls, but for a large comission badger this will be a very helpful technique. Again, thank you for sharing these tutorials!
Thank you for sharing how you make your dolls. I just discovered your channel today :) I do pretty much exactly the same as you do to make patterns. I opted to use painters tape though lol. Now on to your other videos!
Your videos have helped me so much! Thank you! :D However, I tried this method and, well, what can I say, I sucked at this, haha. I might have to try it again. After trying this method I tried just wrapping fabric around the doll, and making holes for the legs as I go, but it resulted in there being such a small amount of fabric between the legs, and I was unable to sew it (couldn't get a good grip on the fabric, it would have just ripped). The frustration! I also heard you asking for video suggestions, and I thought about one that covers the sewing itself, that would be very helpful!
leopardcorgi creatures, thank you for sharing your tutorials. When you use the pattern do you add extra for the seams along the back, tail etc please? Thanks :)
I personally find duct tape too stiff for smaller dolls, I ended up switching to masking tape with no issues. Maybe I’ll use it for spots that need support or to be stronger
This was so unbelievably helpful. I make art dolls and my sewing is not great. This is excellent, thank you so so so much
Thank you for the great tutorials! you deserve more attention.

That's ok, everyone's different. I know a lot of people who use the fabric wrapping method and they get great results, this is just how I do it.
SUCH A SMART IDEA IM DOING THIS
Thank you thank you so much!!! Very helpful
