Awe, I love these videos of Martha and her mom cooking together. Her mom reminds me a little bit of my grandmother, who also taught me to cook when I when I was very young before she passed away.
I am so grateful for these videos. I got several of our family recipes from my grandmother before she passed away (pierogi, paska, etc.), but these videos have filled the gaps for the recipes I never got. Martha’s mother cooks like my grandma, so I totally trust her 💕

It is an East European recepee, cheesecakes have been in humanity long time before America
One of my favorite cheesecakes ever was the original Sara Lee strawberry cheesecake! Delish. Hard to find now in stores and the crust was great too.

I love that you guys can have so different recipe from all different backgrounds. I have tried some but I can’t think of anything better to eat than what I like every day. Some of them i tried failed 😞. Waste not want not. I will stick to what I know.

Adrian Torres Amador it makes sense now why she acts the way she acts with her guest. Maybe she doesn’t realize she’s doing it because a lot of Big Martha’s mannerisms and how she commands the space without havin while Martha cautiously tries to contribute.

ive tried this cheesecake recipe martha and her mom did with my mom for my 19th birthday in 2019 and i must let anyone thats curious to try this know that farmers cheese is essentially cheese curds that contain rennet (from stomach of animals) and bacteria, which also makes it have a real pooey and bitter flavor. as a result of this we werent v satisfied with the cheesecake we made and unfortunately had to throw it out since the taste was so intense and unsatisfying, almost rancid-ish; eventually we just made a normal cheesecake with strawberries lol. so if youre not into that flavor id recommend staying away from this recipe but for someone who enjoys that rustic and wholesome taste of farmers cheese this should be up your alley.

You either got sold some dodgy or old cheese. Farmers cheese are indeed cheese curds, but it’s made using acid not rennet from fresh milk. No bacteria cultures are used. So if yours smelled funky that means it wasn’t fresh or you bought maturing cheese. Either wouldn’t be suitable for this or any cheesecake. The reason why this is used here is because cream cheese would have been too sweet and fatty for traditional Polish baked cheesecake which this is.

Baked Polish cheesecake with or without raisins is a source of great national conflict in Poland. Looks like Martha is in the raisins in camp. 😂
