Dr. Rowe, your hip strengthening for seniors is valuable and much needed. I am so grateful I'm still mobile, though elderly in my 80's. Those in my category cannot possibly benefit from the many so-called exercise videos "for seniors" that show kneeling, split squats, etc. that require strong non-arthritic knees. Using the seated position in a sturdy chair rather than lying down on bed, floor, etc. is also such a gift. In addition, no hands-on equipment is needed. You give clear information and rep set times. You get right to it and offer us so many options for the various muscles. Wow! Though (I've used plenty 😊) there are not enough words to thank you for this video. 🎉❤
These are excellent! Very doable for an older adult. I love the way you include isometrics and show how to do these exercises on all levels with gradual difficulty. Huge thanks.
Oh I like these! I'm 36 and have REALLY bad hips that comes from my mom's side of the family. I also am into exercising, but due to the extremely limited hip movement I've reeeally had to scale back the last 2 years or so. These are great for me!!!
I found your exercises wonderful! So many elders beed to tune up their range of motion but have no idea where to start. Also these are great exercises to do for senors recouperating from surgery. Range of motion on both sides has to bevworked as we get older. Im 63 and was in construction and i found these were simple but effective.
I just Googled the psoas muscle. (Something else you've taught me.) Wow! I learned that it runs from the lumbar region, through the pelvis, to the top of the humerus bone. When I did one of the isometric exercises, resisting with my hand at the knee, I could feel that muscle fire all the way up to below the ribs.
Dear Dr Rowe I just want to thank you for giving me my first pain free day, for 3years, I’m even wondering if I actually need a hip replacement which I’m booked for at the end of this month. I only did about 20 mins. of your hip exercises!
@@DrRowe yes it really has thank you. It’s uncanny how better I’ve felt today, almost as though I’ve had the operation already! I’m just unsure if I need the hip replacement now? 😃
Great exercise set :-) What extra would you suggest for horse riders who are seated astride and must absorb movement from the horse through their lumbopelvic region? Could you do a video about strengthening the lumbopelvic region dynamically? Thank you.
I have been looking for exercises I can do at home for a very long time since I had many injuries to my back, neck, and hips many years ago. I went to a chiropractor for 30 years and it helped a lot, but 5 years ago my chiropractor was afraid to keep treating me due to pain getting worse so he referred me to a neurosurgeon where I was told I needed surgery and that I would be paralyzed in a few years due to the area where the nerves were damaged in my lower back. But I don't want surgery so I haven't done it yet. I've tried many different exercises and therapies including water therapy in a pool for a while, but so many of the exercises cause so much pain I was told not to keep doing them which made me depressed. The pain happens when I make certain movements like laying down and lifting my legs up as you do in this video. The pain is unbearable as I feel like nerves are being pinched as well as bone on bone scraping. This also happens when I stand and walk. Any movement causes this and I've been told it is due to lack of cushioning between my vertebrae which is what they would replace with surgery. I'm so discouraged at this point I'm in a pain management program and I've had spinal injections several times with little to no effect, and oral medications for pain, which doesn't give enough relief compared to the damage done by the medication. I'm at the point where I just decided this is my fate and I will be in this horrible chronic pain for the rest of my life and it is horribly depressing which only adds to my anxiety and raises my blood pressure which is not good since I've had a heart attack and emergency triple bypass and been diagnosed with heart disease and high blood pressure due to stress for more than 30 years. Anyone with similar problems who may have some advice would be appreciated much
I had spinal fusion surgery 12 years ago and still can not lay on my back. Those exercises I can't do but those others I've been doing since the operations and they help a ton.
Build into, go right before the point of discomfort and hold. On the next repetition, aim to go a little higher. If it hurts no matter what, it might be an exercise that just doesn't agree with you.
I have no pain in hips after both hip replacement 7 years ago,but I need more strength in my muscles for things like climbing stairs. Will these exercises help even with hip replacements?
Dr I’ve been following you on RUclips for some time. I live close and would like to become a patient but I live in Cass County. I work in Benton Harbor though. Any chances of becoming accepted?
Should raising the leg off the ground in the first EXERCISE hurt the back at all?. Or even just slightly.. Or does that just mean you have a weak back if that's the case
I thought the comments of people not having anything to hold onto was funny, until I found out my doors and door frames also have nothing for me to hold onto 😮😢

I came to the chiropractor's office, for some much needed inspiration!
My mum needs to watch this video. I am watching this for her - she's an older lady who has some lower back pain because of weak hips.

Hi. Is there a 10 or 15 minute routine for daily use to maintain its status. So that no problems arise in the first place ? Greetings from Germany
Strengthening exercises are the best bet, including the ones in this video.
Can you recommend something for femoral head fracture recovery?

No, you can split them up.

Does dr Rowe , has the best looking legs or what!! 😊
No 😂
Sometimes when I bend down then stand up my right hip has sharp pain and for a few minutes I can't walk until it subsides. Does this sound familiar?
