Course Outline: A DEAD SIMPLE Step-by-Step Guide

  • An effective course outline is the BACKBONE of a successful online course. This is my SUPER simple course structure-explained step-by-step.
Lessons are what courses are built of. So, the individual lesson must be engaging to watch for the learner to get through all of them.
This begins with a clear 4-step structure that consists of an intro to the lesson, the main teachings, an advanced tip, and lastly an outro that teases the next course lesson.
With a simple course outline template, you can "fill in the blanks" and adopt this structure to the subject you're teaching.
Next, the entire course needs to be structured in a way that excites the student and has an impact at the same time. How?
Start with a bang, limit yourself to 7-8 topics to cover, and then format your course lessons in a way that teases and excites. Much like RUclipsrs or content creators do.
There are many ways to do this, but I hope my course outline example give you a concrete and DEAD SIMPLE place to start.
Let me know in the comments if you have any questions. I'll read and reply to each one.

Wow. This is amazing. This is the first video I ever found and saw from you and I subbed you half way through. I don't usually sub anyone until I like at least a few of their videos. But this one hooked my vote for your channel in general. I'm not yet sure how to take what you shared here and apply it to the theme I have in mind to teach, but this is the most fabulous video I've seen on how to create a course so far. Thank you for the amazing content.

Thank you so much, and you're welcome :) Tried to make it as practical and simple as possible, so I'm super excited to hear it didn't tip over and become shallow.

Thanks! Personally I loved Skool but stayed with Kajabi after all. Too much needed to be added in on top of Skool (website, email, payment gateway, etc), so I’m still going strong on Kajabi.

Thanks, Rued! Great video! Love your work.
I have multiple educational websites and I've also been using Vyond for my educational RUclips channel for the past few years. I've been procrast ... preparing to take it to the next level with an online course, but hesitating to step outside my comfort zone. I love your step-by-step, DEAD SIMPLE approach to this. I'll be viewing and re-viewing this video (and your other videos on the topic) in the days and weeks to come.
P.S Also love your written summary in the description!
    Robert :)

Thanks for creating this video Rued! I am thinking of creating painting/illustration courses and I learned so much from this video! I’m at the very beginning of my process so I don’t know how to approach it yet but what you presented was helpful to me! Now to watch your other videos 👀

Very happy to hear that you find this information useful. I know how difficult it is in the beginning when you don’t know how to structure a course at all 🙌

Just discovered Rued. And although "some" content creators explain stuff, Rued seems more "straight-forward".
Don't know, this is my second good video. I am sure the rest are straight also.

You probably don't intend this, but this is actually a pretty good outline for game and level design and introducing mechanics to the player.

Really? I had no idea, but thanks for the input. Are you into game design?

      @jdavi6241 Год назад

@@RuedRiisCom Yes, I follow many channels on it, for example, *Game Maker's Toolkit* or better yet, *Design Doc.* But it's not just game design, but rather all facets of design heavily interest me, no matter the industry or field.
