As a longtime fan of the Dussek solo piano sonatas, I was delighted to discover these duo sonatas! Thanks for posting this! The music benefits greatly from the slightly unequal temperament, in my opinion. Hopefully Dussek will be championed by many more performers in the near future.
Volumes 1 and 2 are on my Christmas list. Can't wait until the release of Vol. 3. I discovered Dussek when I was in college. I was an engineering student, but I always had a love for classical music, and spent all my free time in the music library checking out scores and playing them in the practice rooms. There were two volumes of Dussek piano sonatas, musty old brown covered books, that I checked out time and time again. Dussek's work spans a massive range of quality. There are some pieces of his that are quite terrible (Op. 67 3 sonatas for four hands - I could only get my wife to play them with me once and then never again), and then there are incredible works that either are solid period style (the Messe Solemnelle) or even innovative (the scherzo from the sonata Le retour à Paris can box in the same weight class as Beethoven or his contemporaries). I love you guys for this and for the complete Ries' sonatas. Forget the idiots in the comments bitching about the fortepiano. I don't want to hear these on a too perfect Steinway with too perfect modern string instruments. I want to hear these with every imperfection, which is the soul of this beautiful pillar of our culture.

Thank you 😊
very Mozart style. Love it.
Melodic, original , beautiful.. And I never heard it before.
Why are mediocrities like Schoenberg and Webern better known than this genius?
Tudo novo para mim!

Sonata 1 Mvt 1 sounds like the Brazilian National Anthem for some reason...
yes it's identical to the introduction...
Ditch the fortepiano.
Your ignorance is quite impressive. You must be very proud.
hell no!
Tune the fortepiano!
@@HenryYeveley1 Or a honky tonk. Oh wait, that's the same instrument as the fortepiano...
