The House at the end of the World, The Carthusian Cloistered Monastery Part 3

- The monks leave everything and live only on the essentials, and in that life they find a deep communion with all the people of the world. It may seem impossible to spend a whole life in a monastery, but it takes a whole life to enter into unity with God.

I spent the last three nights watching each segment. I was struck by the contrast between the quiet, holy lives of these men and the frequent, loud, self-absorbed RUclips ads that would interrupt this moving documentary. There is so much noise, pain, distraction, and yearning in this world to fill the hole inside ourselves, when the answer can be found in the total surrender these men have given for their faith. I sleep better at night knowing there are Carthusians in the world, praying for us all.
That is a very good observation. Somewhere along the line, many had lost what is important.
Mee tooo
Me too 🙏
This part 3 was by far my fave. Seeing their humanity made their state in life all the sweeter and more sacrificial. Absolutely beautiful.
Moved to tears watching this. Such calmness, serenity and faith. God bless all of them and also to the family whose children are both serving the Lord. ❤🙏🙏
I truly have never seen a video like this : I think it's a breakthrough . Having watched most of the Carthusian videos on utube this Stands out. First the relationship between the monks is powerful-the contact, the talks, the walks & the supportiveness. When the young monk is reading & hesitates to avoid crying is so moving for he knows God is his everything. There is so much more variety in their life in the cell -painting, sharing with other monks, etc. I'm so impressed with the older monk, who had skin cancer. His smile brightens my Heart. I wish I could do a retreat with them. Thank you.
Thank you for this! What a beautiful gift the Carthusians are to the Church!
The dedication of those brother became a monk and the sister was unbelievable.
I don’t know these men and I’ll never meet them, but they have deeply touched my heart. I’m not religious at all but I can appreciate and admire their devotion to this way of life and to each other. Their bond with one another is beautiful and pure. They are all brothers in Christ and they all care and help one another. The older ones teaching the younger monks. This is truly beautiful!
I have watched all 3 parts of this documentary series. Thanks to KBS to have pay huge effort and hearts to produce such true and meaningful recordings of the lives of Carthusian monastery. It's so touching. I was very calm and peaceful when I watched it. Thanks God for giving me chance to watch it. May God bless all the monks in the monastery and their families.
I ve been watching this many times. Beautifull men in there simplicity. Holy people! It makes me feel little as a christian but motivates me to give myself more and more to God
This video makes me feel holy and try never to sin again by the help of Our Lord.
Je prie aussi pour vous mes frères. Merci pour cette suite de reportages qui fait tellement de bien à mon âme. In +. 🙏
Our Parish Priest in Canada, is from India and has 2 nun sisters. Bless this family Lord.
Hermosa familia. Esto es lo que deben hacer los padres, enseñar a sus hijos el Amor a Dios. El Señor los bendiga 🙏🏼
This documentary is just as beautiful as Into Great Silence. The ending is extra poignant as the German priest who gives a little wave at the end, died in a fire at the monastery only three years later. May he Rest in Christ’s love.
really?! how did you come to know?!
@@ishanjoshi11it was on news
I am so sad in my heart for him and his community. They must have been devastated, even though they believe there is so much more than this earthly life. I pray that God surely has him now.
@@laerwensame here. I feel this man was a saint. The appearence on his face.....he was already united with God and the fire is a symbol of the fire of God wich was inside of him. Nevertheless, i feel sad to read this
Thank you for giving us a glimpse into the lives of these monks ..truly holy and inspiring...our world certainly needs their prayers!! The Korean family's visit with their son was so moving ..what a special family to have a nun and a monk giving their lives to serve God and His people!! ❤❤❤
I love your channel!!
More than half a century ago, when I was 15 years old and given a dispensation to make a 30-day silent Ignatian retreat, my confessor was a 90-year-old Jesuit. "You seem to be a very happy young man. Never forget, that joy is the surest sign of His existence in your life." And these men are living proof that that is so.
We live in a noisy world. These brave spiritual men live in silence detached from the din of the world. May their prayers include is equalize the noise so we could also hear God. Like Brother Moon and his Sister Sun (Monk and the Sister Nun), the balance off each other thinking of each other in the way to their perfection to their married Master.
Thank you for making this beautiful documentary and may God bless us all.
Amen
wow this video really moved me.I hope and pray that in our generation we will have more vocations for religious life and more youth will turn their back to the world and offer their life to God.The family is so lucky to have two religious.Hoping this video will have more views so it can reach and move as many hearts as it can.
This is the best in-depth video I have ever seen into the Carthusian life. Unfortunately I am too old at 69 to enter into a monastery.
You can embrace the spirit of Carthusian life into your daily life brother.
Mother Miriam of the Lamb of God accepts late vocations past age 80 into her Benedictine Monastery in Tyler, Texas. Contact her.
Thank you for sharing a moving documentary about the lives of the Carthusians in Korea. I’ve seen many times Into Great Silence about the monks in France, but it’s inspiring to see how St. Bruno’s message and love of Christ have spread to the other ends of the world.
What a moving documentary. Wish I can have the chance of living with the monks for a week.
thank you, thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
GRACIAS POR EL TIEMPO TAN BUENO QUE ME HABEIS HECHO PASAR, DIOS OS BENDIGA......DESDE BURGOS ESPAÑA.
The calm and serenity 😍
Mandatory for ALL Bishop's Conferences . . and Bishops, including Bishop of Rome.
Nothing "rigid" here. Just not hasty.
Pope Francis will be shocked watching this and see strict observance "what have you done, you want to divide the church with that carthusian rite mass???"
Billions have to watch it.
¡Tantos detalles conmovedores! Uno querría vivir como ellos y con ellos.
Absolutely stunning, A lovely documentary kudos to KDOC and the Priests
Love your channel ❤❤
There are cloistered monasteries in the Philippines such as the Carmelites cloistered nuns or monks. My aunt was a Carmelite monk nun. Families can't see theirr faces without being covered by a veil. They accept family visits like on their birthdays.
I don't think there are carthusians in the Philippines though
Beautiful! ❤
Hay un Español. Qué ilusión entender su canto. Son hombres de Dios
Sorry but they are not the only contemplative monastery in Asia. I personally have visited the Dominic nuns in Bein Hoa Vietnam and the Carmeltie nuns in Siagon (the same moastery St Therese of Liseaux speaks about in her famous autobiography). There is a very large Cistercian (Men) monastery in South Vietnam right on the ocean, bursting at the seems with vocations.
The title means the Only “Carthusian” Cloistered Monastery in Asia
Wow must be so peaceful living in a monastery! Being close to God and serving others with love. ❤️
Qué bueno escuchar a un español.... Veo que hay de todas las partes.
Thank you
I'm sure, you'll pray for your brothers and sisters in whole Asia, God bless you ❤
Mong I like it very much I also want to live like this but by serving only the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and not Maryam Amen
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Om shanti shanti shanti
I pray for Indonesia to come to holy catholic faith
A refuge
Do they not eat the vegetables they grow?
The Pope has to be with his people visiting the .Vatican, but he is holy and has set of times for prayers and work and the problems of the .Christian world he has to tackle.
These monks are holier than our Pope Francis.
I will pray for you for saying that..
thank you. Prayers are always needed @@Green0lives
