    Presenting the Billion Dollar Question: Why did, it require 40 days, for the Chandra yaan-3 Lunar Exploration mission to reach the Southern pole of the Moon?
    In contrast, China's Chang'e 2, launched in 2010, only took four days to cover the distance between Earth and the Moon.
    The Soviet Union's Luna-1, the pioneering unmanned mission that came close to the Moon, accomplished the journey in a mere 36 hours.
    Even Apollo 11's command module, Columbia, which carried three astronauts, reached the Moon in just slightly over four days.
    Well, the I S R O program, has a budget of just $75 million , which is the main reason they have to use the ingenious method to lower cost by implementing the gravitational pull of the moon and the earth, to get to it's destination because of it's Less powerful rockets.
    The Chinese Chang e 2 cost around $219 Million, adjusted to inflation, it's over $316 million
    The Soviet Union Luna 1 in the 1960s cost around $200 million, when adjusted to inflation.
    The estimated cost of the Soviet Union, Luna program in 1964 was , 6 to $10 billion.
    And the most Ambitious program, Apollo 11! cost a staggering $25 Billion, during the 1960s and when adjusted to present-day, inflation it’s around $200 Billion.

    • @S.Ghosh_221
      @S.Ghosh_221 Год назад +11

      Yeah. But short coming is that eventually Space organisations with bigger budget are going to improve their rocket technology and versatility of expertise far ahead of ISRO, some of them already have....Using gravitational pull to slingshot isnt a unique technique that only ISRO knows, others know too, but others are using bigger and powerful rockets to shorten time. Hope Cost cutting doesn't restrain it to mediocre missions.
      The space technology right now going on is to develop Crafts and systems which can take crew from Earth to distant planets like Mars and inhabitate them. And taking 40 days to slingshot may be potent for landing an unmanned lander on Moon but in the field of where space technology is progressing right now(sending people) it won't be useful. Eventually Govt will have to cash out to improve that technology so why not do that now itself instead of cost cutting to make laps around?

    • @S.Ghosh_221
      @S.Ghosh_221 Год назад

      Building Bigger and Powerful rockets to transport payload at much lesser time is also engineering solutions that others are undertaking....Question is if ISRO can do that in lesser cost than others or will forever be stuck with Lapping around celestial bodies to compensate for the lack of Powerful Rockets.

NASA'S apollo mission spent over 200 billion dollars adjusted to inflation just so they can beat the Soviets in the space race during the cold War. Yes, with bigger rockets we can reach the moon in less than 40 hours like the soviets did, but for ISRO it's more about passion.

    If i am not mistaken the luna 25 lander has no inbuilt rover which makes its area of operation very limited , in comparison Chandrayan 3's lander Vikram has a rover named Pragyan which increases its area of operation, though the
    operating days of Chandrayan 3 is very less than Luna 25 , in my view it has high probability of success due to its mobile Rover rather than a stationary lander.
    ISRO'S Martian mission (Mangalyan) was made in an overall estimated budget of USD 72 million dollars which was much less than than estimated cost of movie Gravity which was USD 100 million dollars.

    Many so-called developed nations that running on Indian blood and Indian money can’t even launch a single rocket from their surface. They came to lecture India that we can’t do Mars mission or Moon mission, which seems like funny. Hope for the best, keep your fingers crossed. I really appreciate ISRO and send lots of love to our scientists for everything. It is a really proud moment for us. As an Indian, I support both ISRO and ROSCOSMOS in their endeavors. I heard there were some problems with Luna, but I hope they can overcome them and achieve their goals.

  • @m-Cube1.0
    @m-Cube1.0 Год назад +1

    The missions have helped to improve India's understanding of the moon and its resources. This knowledge could be used to develop new technologies, such as lunar mining. The missions have also helped to improve India's space technology. This technology could be used to develop other space missions, such as a mission to Mars. The missions have boosted India's reputation as a leading spacefaring nation. This could help to attract foreign investment in the Indian space industry. The missions have inspired young people in India to pursue careers in science and technology. This could help to create a more skilled workforce in India. The missions have also helped to promote tourism in India. This could help to boost the Indian economy. The success of the Chandrayaan missions is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the scientists and engineers at ISRO. It is also a sign of India's growing capabilities in space exploration. The missions have had a significant impact on India, and they are likely to continue to do so in the years to come. Jai Hind. Long live ISRO.

    The good and the bad. I love the background music. But a lunar day is not 14 days, That would be far closer to one half of a lunar day. That's why you don't get a full moon every two weeks. If you want to be even more precise, consider each month the earth lunar system travels one 12th of an orbit around the Sun which is 30°
