Sea fans belong to the order Alcyonacea of the subclass Octocorallia. They are closely related to corals. They are cnidarians.
Sea fans are famous for their look. They just looked like dry branches of some tree. Under the ocean, these branches creates a semblance of a jungle.
Sea fans are found in the shallow sea beds of West Indies islands and Florida. They can also be seen elsewhere in limited numbers. There are about 500 species of it today.
