I have said it before and I'll say it again. I appreciate the time , passion and work your self, the people at mattel who were involved and the four horsemen for creating the perfect adault reimagined masters of the univese line that was totally nastailgia from the 80s line that I had is a kid. I can't believe the amount of figures, vehicles, asseccories and your team produced. I have 95 percent of all the stuff. Yea I wish you have stayed on the project longer, maybe a new slime pit, manasour, and the other stuff you had planned in these videos. But great job and thanks again!!!
I'm really enjoying all these videos about my favorite toy line ever. I've new to your channel and am catching up on this series. Thank you so much for all you work on classics. If not for you passion for the line it most definitely would never have been as big as it was. Thank you again
sorry to be offtopic but does someone know of a method to get back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot my password. I would love any assistance you can offer me
To me, Grizzlor was one of those figures that the mini-comic made a lot cooler. The original figure itself is kind of unusual for a big bad, but as a kid, if you read the comic first, you see Grizzlor through that lens and he instantly becomes one of the most powerful villains on your shelf.
Great video! Thank you! I believe it was only the very first single-carded releases of Grizzlor that were the Dark variant. I got the vintage Dark Grizzlor when I was a kid, packed singly on his own card, and spent the best part of a year wondering why none of the ancillary media looked anything like the action figure I had, until my buddy Dave down the street got a "regular" Grizzlor. Needless to say, I bought a second MOTUC Grizzlor so I could replicate that variant in Classics someday. 😉
Grizzlor was notable in my family for being the only action figure my sister owned. We were on holiday in Wales when we were kids and we got to pick out a toy each in a store and I picked Roboto and instead of going to the My Little Pony aisle she normally went for, Grizzlor caught her eye while we were still in the MotU section and yep I reckon it had to be all that fur that made her choose him. And yeah I thought he was pretty cool too. Roboto, that I chose, was also fun. :) That Classics Grizzlor one looks fantastic too. Wonder if we'll see him in Origins and hopefully still furry too. As cool as those sculpted customs look I feel the furry look (and feel) is a huge part of the figure's appeal. Certainly was for my sister. She still had him for years after all my MotU figures got sold off :)
If I was a better customizer, I'd try to make two custom Grizzlor's, which I thought would have been awesome additions to the MOTUC Evil Horde. Grayzlor - Grizzlor, but in a gray/black color scheme, using Stratos arms, etc. The fur was the big issue I couldn't figure out, And maybe a re-tooled head. I thought of giving him the Hordak gloves, and the harness in black with the red Horde logo, just to make him a little different. The basic idea being that he is of the same species as Grizzlor, just an older, experienced warrior. Griz-noir - which would be the darker-colored parts, utilizing the 200X head sculpt, and perhaps Beast man feet, to make him look a little more 'savage' than Grizzlor. My favorite part of MOTU was always the Evil Horde. And I'm glad I was able to get my hands on Grizzlor. One of my favorites in the MOTUC line. Still working on collecting all of them, as expensive as they can get, lately.
Loving the videos as I’m only just discovering them… kind of wondering why Classics changed his “tagline?” Vintage packaging has him as the “Hairy Henchman of the Evil Horde” but you went with the “Ferocious Figure with Fur” instead which was also on the packaging but… With all the effort that goes into making these vintage accurate, I thought it was an interesting choice.
Another great installment. I'm kind of glad you screwed up. Since we were getting the armor, it only seems right that we got the other befitting head sculpt. When The Horde came out I was getting a bit older and never had any of them. It was great to grab them all in Classics. Just sucks, pun intended, that we were unable to get a Filmation Leech to complete the original Horde members.
You guys took the right decision the way you made him unlike panthelor lol amazing figure but the flock is what defined it as an extra mile cool figure. Hehe. I was never able to get that gris lot so I have to settle. With the. Sculpted one from super 7. That's pretty cool too
Grizzlor - portrayed as terrifying in the comics and as yet another dumb henchman in the cartoon. I'd love to see you do a video tackling the difference in tone between the mini-comics and the cartoons. It seems the mini-comics were aimed at kids who where 10-14 years old, while the cartoon was for 5- to 10-year-old kids. Keep up the good work!
I'm a sucker for The Evil Horde as well. I have to say I'm a fan of Mantenna, especially his original figure, and the Classics update, the Filmation version, despite nailing the legs(he's always had four legs but it was more established as a kid in the cartoon), just too goofy to me.

@Roland Arjun instablaster =)
I loved Grizzlor as a child - thanks to the minicomic! It was one I read and reread until it fell apart - Bruce Timm’s artwork still holds up today!
Isn't amazing the talent that has worked on the brand?

Yeah I wish the Filmation show made him like the mini comic!
@@spectorcreative1872 My guess is that Filmation thought that Grizzlor’s feral savageness was too dark
Yet another awesome video. So informative and fun to listen to!
Thrilled you are enjoying! Most grateful for the comment.
Grizzlor was always my favorite character from MOTU and I love the classics version
I think he may be the most popular of he Horde. That fur adds a lot!

That might make more sense considering the image of the 2 pack I used shows the standard one!
This was arguably my favorite figure back in the day! Loved the mini-comic since it made him out to be almost sasquatch - like.
The Legends Lives!

I do wonder how he might look in Origins. He seems one of those toys that NEEDS to be with fur. But I guess time will tell.
Really liked this one, really informative.
Well thank you. I do love fur on my figs!
@@spectorcreative1872 who doesn't? wrong people, that's who! :D
The sort of "body sock" thing was a really clever way to do the fur on this character.
Thanks! That was all Bill and Terri from design
Just found your channel! I remember the Matty days and the WSOD...I hope Stinkor is next.
I'm going in release order, so not that far off.
I remember you from a Toy Hunter episode. Greets from Belgium
That was a fun show to be on! Welcome.

Love the secrets of series have you done mossman by chance?
Yup. I am going in release order.
I loved this figure and horde woulld like one now. all them weapons he like leach was great in the comics
He clearly was ready for any battle
@@spectorcreative1872 you got just the right ballance ...but panthor hmm
Do you have a pic of the body sock, off of the figure? Looks great, thanks.
No, i've never pulled one off myself
Grizzlor reminds me of Karg. I'm bummed I missed out on both for retail.
Well maybe they will be in Origins?
Love this series. What was the impetus for the idea to give Grizzlor the new bonus weapons?
Meaning all the swords and knives? That was totally the 4HM!

I wish Leech could have had bigger legs too. But we couldn't afford the new part
At any point did you consider just making armor that clipped on to the existing face?
No, it wouldn't have worked.
@@spectorcreative1872 can you kindly elaborate as to why?

I'll address the flocking and non flocking of panthor in his video soon!
@@spectorcreative1872 awesome be waiting for it 💜💜💜
Fast Forward to 2022 we have Both the light and dark Grizzlor 😅
best grizzlor ever
So I've recently found Origins....Panther isn't flocked now. I LOVED my fuzzy purple Panthor, and now he's just plastic.
Flocking is hard on articultion

Oh, the Classics version of Mantenna is amazing. Easily one of the best figures in the line.
The Mantenna Classics figure is a work of art!
Wonder if we will ever see a DB figure with real hair
Like human hair?
