Dickey Betts song, singing and playing lead. After the tragic death of Duane Allman Dickey stepped in and wrote some amazing music. Love this band, just some pure southern rock goodness.
Great rock band from the 70's that mixed blues, jazz & country music in their sound. They had lots of great songs such as "Whipping Post", "In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed", "Melissa", "Statesboro Blues", "Blue Sky" etc. One of my favorites is their instrumental "Jessica" which was written by guitarist Dickey Betts & named after his daughter.
like how all 3 of you gals had a smile on your face when Dickey Betts was into his guitar solo.., they were a great band, and put out some excellent music... southern rock at it's best... thanx for your reaction ladies!!
The Allman Brothers are known for making this song up to 20 minutes long during live shows everybody gets solos and it goes on and on and it is so great!🎉
The boys in Skynyrd had been together for 5 years when they changed their name to Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1969 - the same year the Allman Brothers were formed, also in Jacksonville, Florida.
I'm about as big an Allman Brothers Band fan as you can find but I don't ever recall seeing any video like this one of the Band with Berry Oakley playing after Duane's passing and Berry's own tragic death . Although he's never shown , bew member of the band , Chuck Leavell's Piano playing sparkles throughout . Great Video choice from who ever suggested this one to you ladies !
“Seven Turns” is one of the most under rated Allman Brothers songs..from 1990 featuring Dickey Betts on vocals and guitar with Greg Allman’s soulful vocal near the end of the song is worthy of a review...the Vevo video is awesome...
The Allman Brothers are as good as it gets when it comes to Southern Rock and bluesy rock! Try reacting to their tunes Jessica , and In Memory of Elizabeth Reed!Add my favorite too which is Whipping Post!
Before they were the Allman Brothers , they were known as the Almond Joys . You might want to give a listen to " Melissa " next . The late Duane Allman did the slide guitar work on the studio version of Layla by Derek and the Dominoes ( Eric Claptons group ) .
I don't know if you'd be willing to check out a song that won't be requested by anyone else but, the group "Cactus" .. song- "Parchman Farm" from the STUDIO album (Live versions are too diluted) should expand your horizons a little. The song is about a prison farm where inmates break rocks all day in the heat and humidity. It is classic '70's rock and roll. The singer "Rusty Day" and his daughter and brother were murdered over what is believed to be 200 dollars. The bassist "Tim Bogert" died last year. I am a 68 year old musician (Drums, piano, and a little guitar) and this song made a BIG impression on me when I was a teener. The drummer was good friends with "John Bonham" from "Led Zeppelin" and is still killing it today. Thank you for all the "Dan Vasc" vids as well. Your reaction to "Amazing Grace" is in my top 3 and I've seen over 70 reactions of that performance! Great job!
Love you guys ❤️❤️😘😘 enjoy your ride together. Sooooooo many good songs for you to feel 😊😊😊😊 may i request Dr Hook...live...soo fun... little risque but funny thing 😊😊😊😊
There will always be the debate of who was/is better, Allman Brothers or Skynyrd. For me, I've always said it depends on the song. Duane Allman and Dickey Betts are two of the most influential guitarists and musicians of early southern rock that also crossed over to other genres. These early videos of performances were not necessarily made to be videos like MTV or VH-1. They were usually recorded for or during TV shows. Kathy and Donna, you keep introducing and educating Lulu on this true classic music.

Greatest and most humble band ever.

Man, miss those days. Saw them in the late 70's outdoors on a beautiful fall day, what a great memory.
Whipping Post, Melissa, and Midnight Rider should be on your list ....they were a great band, studio and live
Back in the late 70s, we sang that song on many a band bus trip.😂
I remember when I was young I had an old ktell record with this song on it I love it.
The Allman Brothers were the first to bring Southern rock to the masses. A big influence to other bands such as Lynard Skynard.
The boys in Skynyrd had been together for 5 years when they changed their name to Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1969 - the same year the Allman Brothers were formed, also in Jacksonville, Florida.
Dickey Betts R.I.P. Thanks Allman Brothers for all the great music

Momma over there on the right enjoying the vibes 😊
Southern Rock Royalty
It's amazing how popular the Les Paul guitar was in those days among rock guitarists.

Soul shine is a really great piece of music, in my opinion one of their best ,
