- And it is finally SPRING and we are back ON TO IT! fishing, working, sleeping and repeat. This was an end of summer trip to remember as Lennon and I tagged along with Troy @fishingrocksnz from Auckland, who is a very knowledgeable local fisherman that we got to know through Instagram. He decided to test our stamina on a 3 hour round trip hike, determined to get to some challenging fishing spots, targeting Big Snappers off the rocks!

Just a tip….lose the sinkers when your off the stones. Your bait will have a more natural appearance to the bigger fish while drifting down and you’ll also snag up less.
lol ' i got my leader' the most important component haha hate having to retie the leader everytime the line snaps on ya. far out that big bite was epic but a shame you lost it. still great session out on the bricks and good old straylining
@BasicFishingNZ would have been nice to see the fish on the big hit. But that's why we love learning the different methods of fishing!
super trip. Reel~ 🤘
@@eprohoda Thank you, man 🤙
That big fish was 100% a shark. Tope shark. Do enough straylining and youll get used to its fight. Theres way too many of them around. Not uncommon to have a few per trip.
@redstagwith243 You could be righ 🤔 This was our first time fishing in Auckland.
Awesome vid bro ❤
@@NewZealandOceanArt I appreciate it, bro
