So sorry for his older brother, he went through horrific trauma & loneliness, but he still made a good life for himself🙏 may he keep healing and stay strong.
What a sad story with a lovely meeting; best wishes to you and your brother a long, healthy relationship and happy lives going forward. So much respect for your maturity in being able to see your parents with compassion and kindness despite the impact on your own lives, generational trauma is real.

What a bittersweet but beautiful story. Not expecting to cry this much this early. Wishing Cash continued healing from his past. And wishing Tavares a wonderful future with his wife and son.
Cash, you are an inspiration. Your smile and laughter are contagious! It blessed me to see you overcome the challenges and difficulties of your childhood. Thank you for sharing your story. Praying God’s blessings for you both and your families. 💜
I’m so sorry for what you had to go through in your childhood. Generational trauma is so damaging, but seeing how you’ve been able to rise above it is incredibly admirable. I’m so happy that you were able to reconnect with your brother and meet your adorable nephew. Btw, I just wanted to say I love your name, my roommate’s online handle is Cashmere Uncle. I feel like he needs to give that handle up to you.
Wow! You can tell both these young men are amazing people despite all they've been through! What a great story of hope and resilience! Best wishes, Cash and Tavaris!
Their laughs and so many of their mannerisms are the same! This reminds me of my dads story. He was born and raised on the North Side and at 33 found out he had a big brother who was given up for adoption. Their laughs are the same, they react to things at the exact same time without missing a beat, and their love for one another is something you can’t put words to. They lived within 15 minutes of each other their whole lives and had no idea…
My stepdaughter had a younger half-brother that she lost touch with when he was 2. He was taken into care and adopted. She often talked about him and wanted to find him. Fast forward 20 years. It turns out he grew up in the neighboring town from where our school was. Stranger yet, he was VERY close with a family whose children attended our school. We had known them for years. The dad was her brother's high school track coach but also like a second father to him. She and he grew up a couple of miles apart and tangentially connected. Happily, they met, and I know it went a long way to fill a hole in her heart.
As a foster and adoptive mother, I always appreciate hearing and validating the lived experiences of adoptees and FFY - good, bad, and ugly - so I can do my best by my littles. So thanks to Tavaris and Cash. I have cultivated a relationship with the kids' father; unfortunately, it has been more challenging with their mother. But no topic is off limits, I want them to know their story.
Cash reminds me a lot of my eldest brother. I can tell he’s been through a lot in the way he expresses himself but he’s still physically very well put together with a heart of gold. I pray God bless cash both of the brothers seem so sweet. But I felt cash’s tears as if they were from my own big brother. Much love ❤️
Omg this made me cry 😭 I’m so happy that they were reunited. I’m so sorry about Cash’s experience growing up but it’s beautiful to know that he has overcome that side and he is getting to bond with his brother in ways he probably wouldn’t have imagined. They are both such great young men. I wish them the best of luck.❤❤
Cash and Tavares, I bet if you were standing in line say, for a movie. And 15 minutes went by, all the folks surrounding you, would know you were brothers. It's amazing how siblings can be raised separately, can not only look alike but their mannerisms are the same. You both seem like smart and kind men. Tavares I am glad you had a lovely adopted family. Cash God must have been watching out for you and I am so glad you listened to him. I'm sorry you have missed growing together, but You both have many years and beautiful people in your now shared lives to make memories. Best of luck and happiness all around. (BTW the baby is adorable)
It’s so beautiful to see these two find each other, thanks for sharing this family reunion! I can understand what the brothers mean about trying to understand and forgive their birth parents, because although it’s just photos, there seems to be a lot of love in that family. Parents showed up together to supervised visits, apparently multiple times. They brought him things. They kept pictures of their son. They look delighted and so do their older sons. I just hope they were able to find some measure of recovery before their respective deaths. Also, I wonder about the other brothers and hope they’re doing alright.
This happened to me too, in a way. I was messaged by a girl on FB saying that she thought I was her sister. She did her DNA and she found out that my dad's sister is her aunt and obvi my aunt. There is an uncle as well that could be her dad. Sad thing is he died from Parkinsons one year after she got ahold of my aunt and me. I did my DNA to help her. The results really did shock me. I still don't know what we are to each other. The results said there was a 90something% chance she was a first cousin and like a 5% chance as a half sibling. Still the possibility is there. She hasn't spoken to me since. Just stayed friends on FB. I don't have contact with my dad by choice. I did not tell her any of the bad stuff. I want her to have a chance to have a dad. Now I duno if my dad is her dad or if my uncle was her dad. Just sad on that whole aspect. I pray for her and love her. May peace be hers.
