Turret layout is more similar to the T-72A than T-72B as far as i can see.... so i guess it's a variant of T-72A... About T-84, the engine on T-80UD pushed 1.000hp, i'm not sure if the 1.200hp upgrade was already available on the T-84 or just afterwards on the T-84U
+iamhokum The T-72BU/T-90 is a great tank, anyway i agree with you the T-80 was a great tank too to be developed...... however the actual T-84 Oplot-M is a sort of continuation of it, more precisely it's a continuation of the "T-80UD with cast turret", the most modern T-80 version made by the Soviets ;)
Dude I had a cd about this years ago, if I remember correctly the name was Firepower 2000, unfortunately NOTHING came up on the internet except 4 cds on amazon 😭
kane joshua espina Unfortunately i don't know that, i've searched for ages the original film, but without much success.... anyway i may have the website of the producer, if i can find it you'll be advised! EDIT: if you refer to the location, then i can say that this is from UAE, maybe IDEX show.
kane joshua espina LOL i had already forgot to search that link..... your answer reminded me to get it XD Ok, this should be the official site of the producer, if you can find the whole show advise me! www.combatfilms.com/index.html (does the link work?)
Cheap and effective, but nothing to do against a NATO modern tank. Russians preffer having a lot of "cheap" tanks and western countries prefer having less but pricier tanks. For example, Spain has 300 leopards 2e, more or less, and Russia has like 10.000 tanks
@@halfonso_0871 That's not true. All those are Soviet tanks from the '70s and '80s. When Soviet Union had those tanks, NATO had tanks without composite armor, with 105mm gun, high profile, no reactive armor, no separate ammo compartment etc. Soviet tanks were not only more numerous, but most of the time also superior or at least on par to those of NATO. After 1991 Ukraine and Russia alone never had the money to research, develop and produce newer tanks, so of course this made them really outdated to modern NATO tanks. Current modernization are really good, but of course the basic tanks are still very old, just that. It's not a preference, neither Russia or Ukraine can get better tanks, it's not a choice.
@@RiccardoTheBeAst I agree with you totally. When I wrote that I wasn't as interested in tanks as I am now. But I have to point out one thing, I was referring to modern battle tanks. It is not that they are cheap, it is that they do not have the manufacturing capacity of the cars and their subsystems, especially in sensors (optics, IR cameras, etc.). In adittion, the average price of the Russian tank (Ukranians also) is lower than that of a modern western tank (for example the Leo 2e, that essentialy is a improved Leo 2a6 with L55 smothbore 120mm and more armor, cost 11million each euros on 2011). But he issue of price is not very important either, because each country has its own specifics, some make cheaper, others more expensive, you know.
@@halfonso_0871 Yeah, they lack thermal vision production capacity, and indeed modern tanks are on another level, i agree. Soviet Union was experimenting several tanks in the late '80s, but then they ceased to exist before anything can be built. Check out Object 477, 187, 195, 640, 490, 490A, 299 and 292 😉 Also they were the first to have hard-kill active protection systems on their tanks, first Drodz, then Arena. You're welcome ✌😁

iamhokum т.е.

Why? T-80U was designed in CCCP
