Glad I found your adventure in 2019 on main road seen the sign Darwin and where the cabin's are on hill side by the mine is a pull off area and camped out right there .NEXT day side by side came off the hill and asked where the rest of my group was. but it was only me .She said there are no trespassing signs and I said yes .But would have liked to see the mining up the hill great area .🤔⛏️
I'm heading out that way Dec 30th to Jan 3rd. I'm going to camp along that route and have another friend meet us the morning of the 31st. We will head out to Salin Valley to ring in the New Year. It should be a hoot out there! If your interested message me. I believe our group is very similar.
Love this video. I appreciate the effort and editing you put in. ( and your other video adventures too). I hope you keep documenting your overland trips.
@@advfamily That is a boiler, a very small boiler that could be moved to the remote location by wagon and mule team. The steam pressure could be used to run a compressor for pneumatic tools (jack hammers) or a generator or a small stamp mill.
Was there a grey jeep and a grey F250 truck with a shell with two dogs at Minnietta? I think I was camped there at the time. I did have some visitors who drove through. I just cant remember if it was your vehicles. BTW, most cabin campers enjoy other visitors and allow them to walk through the cabin and check it for future ref. Not sure if you are aware but there a a bunch of other cabins scattered around.
Another great video.. Love the old mines. Quick question, size and load rating on the Dura Trac tires you have on the Tacoma? They seem to work very well.
Great job showing the highlights of the area.
Thanks 👍
Love to see all theses places dotted on a map with coordinates. Watching this video suddenly had the urge to travel.
Thanks for watching!

One year ago today, awesome!
Indeed it is!
The riveted tank, in the Santa Rosa, was either for water or compressed air.
Thanks, I appreciate the info.
That metal thing at about 5:30 into the video looks like a very unique small boiler.
Thanks again!

Thanks, I can’t remember the vehicles either.
Great video! How did the Fullsize Truck do? Nothing to narrow it couldnt handle on your route?
It did great! the trails were plenty wide.
Another great video.. Love the old mines.

Thanks Ron
If you could add a little history on your stops that would be really cool.
Thanks for the feed back and i will keep that in mind.
Great videos. I had a couple of questions about your tacoma.
Do you have a lift or modified suspension and what tires you are running?
Thanks
Hi Steve, I have a 3" add- a-leaf in the back and 1 1/2" spacer lift in the front. I am currently running Wrangler Duratracs 265 75/16.
what kind of little heaters were those at the end of the video? where do you get them?
Hi Walt, They are called Mr. Heater Buddy. You can get them on Amazon and most sporting good stores. They work great!
I live in Ridgecrest and wanted to find Minnietta mine. how far up the road from Trona is it?
I don't have the specifics for the location but as I remember it is only about an hour away from Trona off of Nadeau Road
Are these trails possible to pull through a small pop up trailer?
If it can handle rocks and rough roads you should be good.
