They are also retrofitting some older planes with new entertainment systems. Right now it’s mainly on planes with older entertainment systems, but they also plan to install them on planes without such systems. Just flew on N57111, an ex-Continental B757-200, which got economy seats and all entertainment systems replaced about a year or two ago. Great system they got installed, and the B752 is a very solid airframe, albeit not the most efficient as it’s an older design. This particular unit was in phenomenal condition.
@@ecoRfan They have actually not started yet, due to supply chain on Panasonic’s end, but once Panasonic is able to make IFEs, United should start the retrofits off with their 30 MAX9s
Thanks for the great review + how you paid for the seat & upgrade. I've yet to master the skills to cheap upgrades😂. IFE screens make a pretty big difference in terms of convenience. Wonder if this will eventually get American to change their stance on it. Thanks for the info + video!
United has had a hard time implementing the seat change in their remaining domestic aircraft has indicated. American seems to do its own thing, but I would like to see them make the change.
The new seats looked great. A little more care would have caught the mess left behind. I'm guessing those sandwiches have been replaced. Overall, looked like a nice flight.
Yes, as of June 1st all flights over 800 miles on mainline aircraft returned to "regular" meals. Not at all surprising how quickly the thorough cleaning practices of the pandemic were left behind by the airlines.
@@GilbertTravels I look forward to it. Have you heard that Porter will be starting service to LAX and SFO from yyz on their e195-e2? Maybe you can try AC to Toronto, their a220-300 from Seattle or 777 from Vancouver.
I used to fly first (platinum upgrades) on Continental (now United) alot in the early 2000s. Honestly it is shocking the garbage they serve in first class now. That sandwich looks like something you'd get out of vending machine.
Thank you! Good video! Keep up the good work! :-)
Another great review!! Big fan that United is making an effort with their domestic hard product
Thanks! I would gladly fly this seat again, so I agree.

@@ecoRfan Love the 757! I flew on an ex-Continental 752 a few years ago and did a review up in front.

Was very nice and appropriate and would have asked to witness the captain pilot, chief co-pilot, and cargo mate Radio Tail operator.

Back in February, i flew one of united's 737 max 9 from Seattle to Denver in first. It was a pleasant experience. Ps: will there be new content soon?
Life has been busy but I have been traveling and filmed a few flights this year I should have time to edit this fall. Thanks for asking.

09:48 Did you get a look at row 1? Was there still IFE on that row in the bulkhead?
There is.
You flew one way.

To be fair they stopped serving those in June, not to say their current food looks like high cuisine either.
It’s all about cost cutting.
