  • While building a campground in Alaska, I need to extend the property toward the forest to get an access to more trees and firewood, and to let my guests to walk around safely. To do this, I first made a rough road from low-value gravel soil collected from the site, and then filled it with fine gravel.

I'm sorry, but that is not a good job of spreading. Too thick, uneven, gonna take a lot of raking unless you have a tractor with a blade

Thank you for your feedback! I intentionally laid down a thick layer of gravel to ensure proper coverage. I actually unloaded two full 12-cubic yard loads of gravel here. The road surface is elevated in the center and slopes downward on the sides, so it needed more gravel in the middle, which is why the driver focused on that area. For such a short stretch of road, a thicker layer of gravel is expected. I spread the gravel initially with a rake and later finished the job using a rented Bobcat loader. I was planning to rent the loader anyway to level a large gravel parking lot (see my other videos about it), so the exact spreading method for this section wasn't as critical.
