Great idea! Very creative thinking. And that's a big part of being a good prepper, Great Lakes. Thanks for showing us!

I'm in the same situation you were in and had to do the same thing. I didn't want to drill in the frame on the mower so I just drilled the holes on the hitch. Good video.

I had a similar hitch on my John Deere. It was really useful for moving my log splitter around. Going to order one and put it on my Cub Cadet and make my mower that much more useful. I didn't know about the extra hole behind the sticker. Thanks!

Thanks for your video. I have a 22hp Cub Cadet tractor which looks identical to yours, and a boat that needs moved less than 10-feet in my concrete floor garage. This should work perfect, and save me a lot of money (electric dolly) and from getting a sore back. Moving a boat manually doesn't get any easier as my boat and I get older. THANKS AGAIN!
UPDATE: I removed Cub Cadet hitch BEFORE trying to tow anything; due to I mow 2-acres and don't want to risk tearing up the mower. Bought a 3-point hitch (Amazon, $56 used like new) for my 33hp diesel tractor. Tractor was too big to maneuver boat in garage. Bought a 3600lb electric trailer dolly from Amazon.

Great idea! When there's no trailer on it, what height is the top of the ball at?
What are the measurements for your hole drilling, say from the center of the next hole to the center of the one drilled?

What are the specs on the mower that you put the hitch on?

How much does the boat weigh? I have an a-frame camper id like to move with my 20hp cub cadet for the same reason. To little space in my yard to navigate with my vehicle.

Even the short ones are a little too long for my lawn mower. It already has the holes, I don’t want to have to drill new holes. I think I might have to modify the bars.

Can you pull the trailer up a 7 degree elevation (13% grade)? I'm looking for a

Hi Charlie. I couldn't really say. I don't believe my mower would be able to do much of an incline. My property is quite flat, and it works fine for moving the boat around here. 25 degrees is probably much too steep for my specific mower, both in weight and power.

@@GreatLakesPreppingok thanks. I updated the comment with the actual calculated grade instead of a guesstimate. Ya the slope could be tricky

I don't like that it bolts on when there's two perfectly good hook points on each side. Huge PITA every time your swapping between the hitch and bagger. The badge comes off super easy it uses the hang points no bolts.

How many horsies does that mower have?

if only this didnt stick out so far. I have a bag system on the back of my john deere and it would block the bags from being put on

Long bolts with nuts or washers would have been easier.
