When listening to her sing, it is apparent that she has spent the better part of her life fine-tuning her instrument with help from several vocal coaches. Floor can sing in multiple languages and genres and is a Master vocal coach. It is incredible how she is able to take any song from any genre and make it her own. This woman is a true gift to her craft and an incredible addition to a band that has always been great until 2013 when they officially hired the undisputed Queen of Metal, Floor Jansen, making Nightwish the greatest band on the planet. You just experienced your first Floorgasm! Congratulations 😅. I must have listened at least 400 times the last few weeks ( along with "the greatest show on earth"). The weird thing is I keep getting goosebumps and tear up no matter how many times I listen to it. Should be investigated by science 😂. Floor has an incredible once in a lifetime voice, but next to that, she is able to transfer emotions like you are directly wired to her brain. And that is a rare gift. Absolutely unique. In the past mankind had more very good singers. But this lady blowes them all away. Because emotion is what music is all about. I end with sincere apologies to the other bandmembers. I did not mention you before. All of you nailed it to perfection. The composition, the drive, the perfection, the emotion...... In 400 years time your name will be written in honor in the great concert halls of this world. Deep deep deep Respect!!!

I was lucky enough to be able to attend one of their last concerts before the pandemic. It was a small venue so I was standing about 15 feet from the band, and it was an experience I'll never forget. It was a small enough venue that I'm pretty sure each band member made eye contact with me at least once 🤩

Over 82,000 in attendance. This is a song most often used to to introduce someone new to the band, showing a variety of styles, and demonstrating the amazing vocals of the Dutch Valkyrien queen, Floor, the third lead singer of the band. This band will continue to surprise you, so many different sounding songs. Some with not like the Evanescence reference, but it’s common for first-timers. Don’t worry about it. Some just hold Floor so highly, they dont like to say anyone compares. Read what General Gabriel has to send. Jukka, the drummer does use the chimes in his kit occasionally. Can’t go wrong following his advice. Stick with live performances with Floor for a little while, then expand. Maybe Storytime or Ever Dream from this same show next. I'm from outside the Minnesota Twin Cities and they randomly showed up for a concert in a smaller venue (like 4K capacity) with Sonata Arctica (a Euro power metal band) and they PACKED the place and the concert sold out almost immediately. They blew the place out of the water with stage presence, lighting, everything! It was awesome!

W.O.A is an Open Air concert in the tiny town of Wacken. Northgermany near to Hamburg with begins in the firstt week of august. for 4 days from 12 am to 2am in three escenarys bands from unknown to high weight bands make the people sing.

I saw Nightwish in 2018 in a smaller arena in Columbus Ohio. Maybe 3000 people there. It was right after Endless Forms Most Beautiful came out. It was awesome. Didn't hear thus but heard some other good ones.

Don't forget the drummer, Jukka Nevaleinen. He has been with Nightwish since its Founder Tuomas Holopainen put the band together in 1995 until 2015 when he left touring because of chronic insomnia. Dutch Dramatic Soprano Floor Jansen is the third singer who was brought into Nightwish permanently after this incredible concert. The first singer was Finnish Mezzo Soprano Tarja Turunen from 1995-2006. Pop vocalist Anette Olzon was the second singer 2006-2011.
Late to the party, but I have been to 5 Nightwish shows so far, going to Chicago show in May. They always put on an amazing show, but I have never seen a show with this caliber live. The area I am around they usually got smaller venues or clubs. They were always packed with Nightwish fans, who are amazing at the show, they make the experience so much better. Hopefully in May I get to see a more theatrical show. I have seen Tarja, Anette and Floor perform. They were all great and enjoyed everything about each one. Nightwish shows are always well performed, very energetic and just amazing. Then you add the Nightwish fans and it brings it to a whole other level and that only be experienced when you are there. I highly recommend to go see them life and experience the full atmosphere affect.
I have seen them in concert twice in the last 5 years. My wife and I love their music. Their music is ageless, as we are both in our 50's! We will miss Markko, as he left the band earlier this year.
Science and nature loving Nightwish are masters of story telling. A perfect example is their official video for NOISE (a commentary of how media has had a negative effect on us). They also have 20 minute performances (Poet and the Pendulum and Greatest Show On Earth) after which you don't want it to end. This is one rabbit hole that doesn't disappoint. Also, check out Marco (the Viking bassists cover of Pink Floyd's High Hopes and see that Floor is not the only great voice on stage.

Very specific niche, I personally consider it a subgenre of Power Metal via neoclassical influence. As the two have a lot in common with song structure and classical influence.

I was totally blow away...and that is hard to do,since I have been into hard rock/ heavy metal since I was 8 years old listening to Jimi Hendrix ( the greatest rock and roll guitar player ever ), The Doors, Black Sabbath with Ozzy Osbourne, Led Zeppelin, Nazareth....and the list goes on and on...decade after decade....and Nightwish is, in my book, the best of the best! I like to think of music as being like food. You can listen to good old tunes from the 20s and 30s and it reminds me of Chocolate. Then each type of music is a new flavor in food. Beatles song that is only 2 minutes long is like having a mint. It is cool and refreshing. Using this analogy, I find Nightwish to be a 7 course meal.

Unfortunately i haven't had the pleasure to witness her singing live, but I've been listening to Nightwish for many years now, and I can assure you this much: They never fail to amaze me. No matter how bad my day may have been, the music of Nightwish makes me smile regardless. That said, she also has collaborated with the band her husband plays the drums in: Sabaton. They are - much like Nightwish - a rabbit hole all in themselves, but also much like Nightwish well worth checking out. If I may give you a suggestion: Sabaton - Christmas Truce. And do yourself a favor and listen closely to the very end - you'll understand why. Watching till the end is in general a good idea for Sabaton's music videos and live performances - because they like to hide little easter-eggs in there.

Late to the party, but I have been to 5 Nightwish shows so far, going to Chicago show in May. They always put on an amazing show, but I have never seen a show with this caliber live. The area I am around they usually got smaller venues or clubs. They were always packed with Nightwish fans, who are amazing at the show, they make the experience so much better. Hopefully in May I get to see a more theatrical show.
I have seen Tarja, Anette and Floor perform. They were all great and enjoyed everything about each one.
Nightwish shows are always well performed, very energetic and just amazing. Then you add the Nightwish fans and it brings it to a whole other level and that only be experienced when you are there. I highly recommend to go see them life and experience the full atmosphere affect.
I have seen them in concert twice in the last 5 years. My wife and I love their music. Their music is ageless, as we are both in our 50's! We will miss Markko, as he left the band earlier this year.

I went to Wacken that year. Nightwish was the highlight by far.
Science and nature loving Nightwish are masters of story telling. A perfect example is their official video for NOISE (a commentary of how media has had a negative effect on us). They also have 20 minute performances (Poet and the Pendulum and Greatest Show On Earth) after which you don't want it to end. This is one rabbit hole that doesn't disappoint. Also, check out Marco (the Viking bassists cover of Pink Floyd's High Hopes and see that Floor is not the only great voice on stage.

You probably are Familiar with Symphonic Metal, but don't realize it. Trans Siberian Orchestra is Symphonic Metal as well as Versailles Philharmonic Quintet and it's follow on band Jupiter, also 90s metal band Savaton was Symphonic Metal as well.
Very specific niche, I personally consider it a subgenre of Power Metal via neoclassical influence. As the two have a lot in common with song structure and classical influence.

You can learn quite a bit about Nightwish from those that will post on this reaction video! I was introduced to Nightwish by watching another guy that does music reactions. I was totally blow away...and that is hard to do,since I have been into hard rock/ heavy metal since I was 8 years old listening to Jimi Hendrix ( the greatest rock and roll guitar player ever ), The Doors, Black Sabbath with Ozzy Osbourne, Led Zeppelin, Nazareth....and the list goes on and on...decade after decade....and Nightwish is, in my book, the best of the best!

And my sons run lights and sound at events near us. I think people have no idea how to classify Floor's voice. They can only think of evenessence's Amy Lee. But, Floor has an impeccable voice with a range that pound put her to shame! And she even growls!!! Nothing against Amy. But, Floor is just amazing! Private Marshall Nightwish Army reporting for duty. It's about gosh darn time TNT. There is so much more. This entire concert can be reacted to from the beginning, one song at a time. There are no bad songs and each one you hear is very different from the other. And each one will become your new favorite. That might sound ridiculous but we have seen it over and over again. This is a live band. This is a rarity that the live music is better than the engineered versions. Stick with live.
General Gabriel should arrive to give you a road map and a history to help you on this most magical of journeys. A few of my suggestions outside of this concert venue, Yours is an empty Hope, Wembley. (The cruise ship video is not as good) How's the heart, Planet Rock Acoustic version and I want my tears back, Buenos Aires Argentina.

I like to think of music as being like food. You can listen to good old tunes from the 20s and 30s and it reminds me of Chocolate. Then each type of music is a new flavor in food. Beatles song that is only 2 minutes long is like having a mint. It is cool and refreshing. Using this analogy, I find Nightwish to be a 7 course meal.

11:00 You just witnessed the "Valkyrie Queen" Floor Janssen herself - and considering your reaction afterwards, I'd say you also experienced what fans tend to call a mild "Floorgasm" - for obvious reasons. Unfortunately i haven't had the pleasure to witness her singing live, but I've been listening to Nightwish for many years now, and I can assure you this much: They never fail to amaze me. No matter how bad my day may have been, the music of Nightwish makes me smile regardless.
That said, she also has collaborated with the band her husband plays the drums in: Sabaton. They are - much like Nightwish - a rabbit hole all in themselves, but also much like Nightwish well worth checking out.
If I may give you a suggestion: Sabaton - Christmas Truce. And do yourself a favor and listen closely to the very end - you'll understand why. Watching till the end is in general a good idea for Sabaton's music videos and live performances - because they like to hide little easter-eggs in there.
