Extremely informative as well as funny. Thanks for keeping it simple and for bringing humor into it.
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it and found it helpful!
I've been trying to get the rope thru the tightener for the past 45 minutes. I've watched your video 5 times now! Please send over your wife 😭😭🤣🤣
😂 Sorry it's not cooperating for you! It's definitely easier if someone (or something) else can hold it open for you while you feed the line through. Just brain storming here, but maybe you can try poking something the end of rope (like a safety pin or threading some strong floss or thread) instead of the wire trick.
For anyone else struggling, I actually found that the ball bearings on my particular tightener were seized in place, despite being brand new and in a package. I ended up having to pound a screwdriver in to get them all unstuck, then it started working as intended
Same… Your video makes it looks so easy! But I somehow got the wire through and bits of rope stuck inside the ball bearings. 😂 I may have to buy a new tightener or set up the clothesline without it.
That particular knot has been around a while. It's called the "Twist & Shout".
😂
Thanks for the help. the manufactures instructions has the rope being fed from the other direction. Goes in easy enough but pulls straight out. I’ll find a bit of wire and success will be mine. Good video as well.
You're welcome! Thanks for the compliment! And good luck!
Found one of these in Lowes yesterday. Wasn't sure how it worked. Thanks
Thanks for that self explanation because I’ve been trying to put up this clothesline for two years and you think your neighbors would see you struggling and help out. Don’t count on it.
You're welcome! Glad I could be a helpful "virtual neighbor" 🙂
Thanks! I wasn't sure how they worked. This was very helpful and a pleasure to watch!🙂🙂
Thanks! Glad it was helpful 🙂
My gosh, helped me out tremendously. My grandmother and I are trying to string our clothesline I looked at the tightener looked at the string when I think I need to watch a RUclips video super helpful thanks a lot
So glad you found the video helpful!
Thank you for the straight forward video, Super Job !
Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching!
thank you so much...my struggle was real before this vid
You're welcome! Glad the video was helpful!
Thanks. I'm installing a new rope for a customer & i didn't know how that thing worked!
You're welcome!
With energy prices where they are and on the way UP, this is most helpful. May I also ask for a breakdown of the other pieces of equipment/setup used to attach to the houses. I'm a real novice and hoping to set something like this up and sure other will be looking to do the same. Many thanks!
You're welcome, Debbie! Thanks for watching. And it looks like you already found my other video that addressed some of your questions about the other parts and set up. Best of luck!
thanks for the help!
very good instructions.
You're welcome! Glad you found the video useful. Happy clothes hanging season!
Super helpful and brief! Thank you!
You're very welcome! Glad you found it helpful 🙂
Awesome video and hilarious. Thanks for all the non-pro pro tips 👍
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Knot "The Gob Job"...but thanks for the video!
I’ve been trying to figure out how to get the line through thanks I thought I bought the wrong thing
Glad the video was helpful!
Wives are hard to get, especially a good one.
I LOVE your video ❣️ I came RUclipsing to try to figure out how in the world to use the super cheap “slide” that came with my super cheap clothes line (nobody else bothers with this garbage apparently) and though I’m comment #4, I noticed nobody else named your 🪢. As a crochet fan I love knots, so may I christen it the DoWhat Knot?😍 Great video! (Or if you’d rather, if it won’t stay, call it the DoNot Knot 😆)
Love it! So far the knot is holding up, so "DoWhat Knot" it is!
Do I have to say Voila ? or can I use an English term seeing the video is in English
"Behold!" "Whoomp - there it is!" and "Ka-ching!" are all acceptable.
Steiner knot
You’re awesome! Yes, every man should have a wife. She completes him!🤗🤗
Knuckle knot
I had it going through wrong end lol😂
Glad you got turned around!
Cool Idea!!!! Love the humour 😃Came to check how you are doing since I haven't seen your recent videos. Take care and all the best! BTW, Look at all the views this video got 👍
Thanks! Good to see you again. Yes, looks like quite a few people were as curious as I was about how to use this thing!
@@DavidSteininger 😀👍🏽
how did you get the rope to the pulley attached to your neighbors house?
Hi Venie, I just posted a quick video response that will hopefully shine a bit more light on they pulley set up. ruclips.net/video/Bg94H4ZVzqE/видео.html
I tried to follow your guide but got stuck because I dont have a wife, had to throw away this clothesline tighteners and my washing machine...
Yeah... Sorry about that. A lot of people get hung up on that step if they don't have the proper supplies.
On the bright side, if you don't have a wife, you can typically go much longer without doing laundry before anyone complains about the smell.
🤣
But how did you attach the wire?
Ah, good question. Sorry I didn't cover that more closely. I twisted the wire like a corkscrew around the clothesline a couple times. The method will likely differ based on the thickness and flexibility of the wire. Hope that helps!
@@DavidSteininger Thanks, that makes sense!
@@DavidSteininger For the complete novice like me, please do consider releasing a more detailed and extensive video on the other bits to build a proper clothesline like yours. This is exactly what I want to do but haven't quite figured out the other bits. Many thanks for your consideration!
All very distracting! Now could you make another vid to show how the gadget’s used to tighten the line, and how well it works - or doesn't
Sorry if something was unclear. Are you asking how the tightener is used with the rest of the clothesline set up? You might find this video helpful: ruclips.net/video/Bg94H4ZVzqE/видео.html
