Also, I’d like to say that I have disabilities that cause me to have to “over-consume” certain things that I happily utilize for my health needs, but very unhappily know that these products will not break down for a very long time, and cause microplastics to proliferate. I have to trade being a small part of microplastic pollution for some of my comfort, function, and ability to keep my body working everyday, and sometimes it really gets to me that I am not ‘healthy’ ‘enough’ to not use plastics and one use products. This helped me relax a little bit into my own skin again. Thank you.
Same. I'm an active climate change warrior - but I still have to do certain things that I wish I didn't have to do, because as a disabled person it makes my life liveable. I no longer feel any guilt about that

And also I really want to stress, it is INSANE to me that huge companies and whole industries make us individuals who try to simply do their best believe, they are the cause for all of the worlds pollution. While at the same time those very same companies are the reason why our climate goes south!
I think that person is saying you can create rather than consume which i think is an important message in sustainability and protecting cultural knowlege outside of consumerism. I hear what you're saying about accessibility, and that's important, but many of us have lost out on many types of skills based in convenience and because its easier to pay someone when there are alot of multidimensional benefits of doing things ourselves/sharing in communities
Literally talked about that video in therapy 😭 my concern on top of the "need for all this time and energy and skills to reuse" is "in some people this can become hoarding very easily." I'm not saying that's what is happening in the original video, but there is that potential for it to develop in others.

absolutely! I would never say that's not true, I just don't want to overcomplicate a trend that is doing good for many people
