Thinking about doing this exact arrow build out specs are pretty much the same. Did you end up using these for hunting this year? Was wondering your thoughts on hunting with these.
At 7.1 gpi just worried about the durability
But i figure with the ethics inserts it’ll provide a little more “meat” up front. I was about 2” off from the ring for the entry for the truck at tac last year in vermont so this year want to build a good arrow for both 3D and hunting. My mission is to build a good flat trajectory arrow to hit that damn ring this year.

I mean why can’t it be sick for hunting with the Xv 250’s? I ran a 200 grain setup up front and the 250’s are durable for my crappy aim. 458 total with like 17% foc. My new favs. The ethics are not my favorite, black eagle rampage 350’s inserts with a 50 grain 8/32 zinc rod cut and glued in. Bohing shield cut 2.25inch low pro vane 6grains per. Good video, not peeing on it.

Hello have you had any of those inserts pull out on you yet?

Yes I have had a couple pull! I believe they are the last arrows couple arrows I made where the 15min epoxy started to set up so they didn't get to set and cure properly.

Enjoyed your video. Florida State Record Whitetail here. What weight did you cut your inserts down too? What was your finished arrow weight? And do you know what your finished FOC is? I am currently shooting the VAP TKO 300 Spine. Eitha 92 grain SS outsert, and a 125 gen head. I am right at 515 grains with a 20% FOC. I am shooting the new Phase 4 as well it 70 lbs. Looking to gain alittle speed and drop a build down to 460 grains ish.
Anything info is appreciate d. Thanks again. Enjoyed your video. Where are you located as well?

Hey thanks for the feedback! I cut the inserts down to the 95 grain setting, the total arrow weight for this build is 435 grains. Arrow length comes out to about 28 5/8 from the outsert end to the throat of the nock giving this setup 21% FOC, out of my 75lb phase 4 33 my calculated speed is about 296 fps. I would definitely recommend trying out a similar build, they hit harder than my previous heavier builds and I can reach out to 130 yards on my sight tape! 👍🏼 we are also out of Boston MA

How did those pro max vanes workout with the mini max?

The pro max vanes worked great! I'm getting a lot of spin and they stabilize my magnus fixed blades out to 80 yards with ease, no change in impact!

Hey, I know there are a lot of different ways to go about this, but I'm curious about something.
I get the whole idea of front end structural integrity and increased FOC for hunting scenarios, but why in the world would you need 200+ grains of point weight and such an expensive insert\outsert for 3d and TAC?
If you go with a lighter insert, your total weight is less, and for some people will get you into the next lighter spine, which further increases speed and additionally FOC goes up (not more than the heavier build of course, but enough to compensate some), all good qualities for a pure long range target arrow.
Anyway, just like to know your thoughts. I build TAC arrows differently, but there's no right answer...

I use heavier arrows for TAC because I don't have the time or the inclination to constantly be adjusting my pins and sight tape to switch between pursuits.

Very useful video. Was struggling to find a RUclips build with these arrows. Quick couple questions if i may. What's your draw length and point weight please? I only ask as you're using 300 spine with a 75lb bow. I shoot a 76lb bow at 26.5 inches (yes I'm a hobbit) and was thinking of getting 250 spines. But now im thinking the 300 spine would work just fine and of course be lighter. Subscribing was an easy decision. Greetings from the UK 🙂

Hey thanks for the feedback! I have a 28.5 draw length. I shoot 300 spine, 85 grain insert and 25 grain outsert/collar, and 100 grain point. 300 works out to be just about the perfect spine for my setup and arrow length.

If you can, send me an email Dimitrid@hangnhunt.com with your arrow of choice, point weight, arrow length from throat of nock to carbon, draw length, draw weight and your bow. I’ll punch it into my calculator and figure out your optimal spine for you. 👍🏼

The reason nobody is running the XVs is because they are so dang expensive! XD
