The recommended weight of an arrow is 5 grains per pound. Example, 75 (lbs bow) X 5 (grains) = 375 grains as a recommended minimum weight. This arrow is lighter than the recommended specs, but I am trying to push my bow and see what it can do. I DON'T RECOMMEND COPYING THIS. But, if I wanted to stay inside that rule, I would bump up to a 250 spine and heavier insert, getting me closer to 400 grains.
The only thing I would say about this is that you obviously have a huge platform and not everyone who watches you is an advanced archer that understands or knows about the 5 grains/lb rule. I would’ve made a point to make it very clear in the video that you do not recommend shooting arrows this light at that draw weight. Love your content man and hope this doesn’t come off the wrong way. Shoot straight at TAC brother. I’d love to see a video on how these ended up tuning for you I’ve often ran into tuning issues around 310 fps.
Before I knew any better, I shot 290grains at 88lbs, 30 in. It was in the early 90’s, and the newest bows could shoot 5gpp, (carbons arrows were just becoming available) but mine was a couple years older, and required 7 or 8gpi (I think it was 8). Surprisingly it took thousands of shots before limbs got some small cracks. The pro shop weighed my arrows and explained my mistake. He replaced the limbs under warranty anyway
Build and sell lots of these in my store. And I’ve been hunting with this arrow for two seasons and killed every deer I’ve shot at with a total pass through. And I have yet to have one break. V3X-33 & Phase4-33, 65# DW, 30” total arrow length, 75gr titanium outsert, 125gr Magnus Stinger, 445gr total arrow weight, 19.9% FOC, 279fps. Super accurate arrow, excellent for hunting and for building high FOC.
I'm running the rip xv from a 62# pse omen with 100 grain sevr 1.5" hybrids also 20 grain easton stainless collors arrows are 399-401 grains. 90% of my bow hunting is for mule deer and the occasional elk/moose.
Need some advice man, I live in the city but Ive always been attracted to hunting and fishing. My parents aren't big in either and they've always told me know to owning a pellet rifle or any firearm, and even bows. There's an archery range right by my house and for years I talk about how sick it would be to get a compound bow and take it to the range. Turning 20 this Friday and I told them if I could finally get a compound bow and surprisingly they said yes. But now that I got the okay, Ive been debating it solely because of city living. Live in socal and there aren't many bow shops near me and I am not to knowledgeable about building my own setup. I feel like I wouldn't get to utilize the bow because of my location. Thoughts?
I’ve got this arrow in 350 spine 120 gn glue in insert AAE hybrid vanes. It’s 325 gn. @ 326 fps. It’s fast but I think it may like a less aggressive cam. Basically it’s finicky and I think you’ll go back to something heavier.
Dude there amazing use a bohning wrap fletch tite platinum use a good bit let them cure for 2 days u can’t tear them off I don’t put them on without the wrap it how hard it is to get them off the 3” are big vanes in a 3 fletch u can use fixed blades or mechs they don’t slow the arrow down
Sa Weet video from the goat…just saw it this morning as was Turkey hunting in southern Oregon…got my three Turkeys….such fun…anyway great video as always Chris…I just set up a friend with those Victory XV arrows for our 3D shoots here…he loves them and we had the same results in weight and speed as your results…great overall video Chris😊
So, I wanted to research an ultra-light hunting arrow for max speed. Like a 320~350 grain arrow with a like 250 spine and use a good two blade or single befell broadhead. I was thinking like an Iron will or a Rek FXD..... I want to know how well it will work for Deer or hogs. If you can get speeds around 330Fps and use a really good broadhead it should be deadly.
Chris you just made a really good choice those arrows are going to scream make sure you look at the box it will tell you the average weight per arrow so hopefully each box is close in weight. Also with your Lift expect to see some very very impressive numbers with FPS!!! You have made an excellent decision in shooting those arrows and I do recommend you use the 50 grain steel and not the 20 grain aluminum inserts you want to get the weight up to 400-415 grains and you will have a good result in the end.
I actually have my arrow at 396 with my Hoyt alpha x 30! I wasn’t a big Hoyt fan but the draw cycle felt amazing so I picked it and it’s at 80lbs on the dot and it shoots 328 which I was very shocked with! I couldn’t imagine it with a lighter arrow
Hey Chris, I recently built some arrows similar to this but I used your x3 vanes and now my hair is growing uncontrollably into a mullet in the rear, is this normal?
Built these last year for TAC. Shoot very flat. Definitely not the toughest arrow they have ever built. Saw a lot of them explode. Not mine of course 😂
Just when I thought I had the legendary Chris Bee beat with my lift 29.5 at 29.5 inch draw, 80lbs draw weight, 445 grain arrow shooting 322 feet per second
I'm thinking on trying those arrows? I'm shooting Gold Tip Hunter Pro's 400 spine at just over 25" and weigh in at 377-389 gr Ihave a 25.25- 25.5 draw and my V3 is 300fps
Hey chris, just wondering what nocks you use? Or did i miss that? And do you have them in your store? I noticed that victory nocks are extremely short. Hunting i use nocturnals and they are twice as long. Cutting the arrows for the nocturnal length, the standard victory nock is dangerously close to the insert. Ive also notice some other nocks kinda fix lose in the victories compared to my old maxima red sd hunters for example. But just wondering what you used anyway, or a better target nock that works with the victory aarow rip tko. Thanks!
370gr rip XV killed my buck last season @35yds with a qad exodus. Total pass thru with bohning heat 4 fletch, thru the ribs on both sides and stuck 15" into the hard ground on the exit. Buck was 200# dressed so it wasn't a little guy. Only issue I have with the rip XV is they are not very durable so I already picked up a dozen rip tko's just in case but as of now I'm gonna stick with the rip XV. I shot thousands of shots with these rip XV arrows from my omnia and have had no issues with the bow. Modern bow's efficiency is much better than it was in years past so these light arrows shouldn't hurt the bow but I can only speak for elite omnia from experience. Heck my factory winners choice strings threw all the arrow's and made it thru 4,500 shots and my entire hunting season before I swapped them out and I was out 5-6 times a week for 3 months of the season with this bow.
Change to 65# mods and you’ll still be getting 307 fps. Plenty fast for Tac. But you’ll still need a custom sight tape. The UV tapes don’t get that fast.
332 with a 80 pound bow blows Mathews that is 4.375 grains per pound. IBO speed is supposed to be 348 with the 29.5 and 343 on the 30 inch lift. IBO is calculated with a 5 grain per pound spec. You were shooting a Bow at 10 pounds over what would be at most a arrow for a 70 pound Bow. That 350 grain Arrow should be going a heck of a lot faster.
Once you add weight to the front it shouldn’t raise up so much off the rest , Chris not to mention your halos might need to make a tad of space to clear 🤏 pinch 😎🏹btw Chris that’s sum kinda ✈️🛩️🚀u got there 😮
@@ChrisBeeRealI thought you were joking! Then I thought I better search and, sure enough, you guys sell speed tapes. Haha I am in between sight tape 2 and 3 on the UV slider tapes that come from the factory with the sight, with a 386gr arrow at 27.5" DL at 70lbs 302fps. I am going to hunt with a ~460-470gr arrow at either 75 or 80lbs, whichever gets me around 280fps, so I won't be needing any speed tapes. But good to know they exist for TAC type of events where I might want to go real fast!
It's not due to the arrow being light, but because the arrow is light you can see how easily the arrow can be affected by nock pinch/inconsistencies on the nock end.
@@tannerharris1483 Imagine being so doubly ignorant as to not recognize that Chris gets all of his equipment for free and doesn't have to concern himself with limb failure.
They also make that short insert in aluminum.for rip tkos it will ge them sub 400 grains depending on your arrow length the insert weighs 21 grains compared to Chris's that are 30 grains but his are also stronger pick your poison
Like your videos I just don’t know if you know about Alberta’s new rule soon to be in effect 15 minute district cities in Alberta coming soon be careful when you go there
I'm happy for the winner but it would be awsome to give someone a hunt who getting a bow like that or going on a hunt out of the country is financially not attainable in thier lifetime.

Shot that same arrow with target points at 2 TACs this year so far. Great arrow, crazy light and fast and with a respectable FOC. TAC machine. (345gn)
You should do a hunting vid using that truglo sight you did a review on last year!
We might do that!
So awesome to see you giving back! I appreciate your

I love the xv’s! With my setup I run the 350’s for TAC and 300’s for my hunting setup.

Chris let me know if you need someone to film the hunt depending on dates as I live in Canmore Alberta and happy to come on the hunt.
I just got a dozen of these I’m pretty excited to get them put together
Congrats John! Good luck in September.
Crazy how light that arrows is!!
Too light

How do you spine aline the arrow after you put the vanes on?
Do these high poundage compound bows handle lighter arrows without affecting the bow?
Just when I thought I had the legendary Chris Bee beat with my lift 29.5 at 29.5 inch draw, 80lbs draw weight, 445 grain arrow shooting 322 feet per second

Why no small 4 fletch for more clearance and less wind drift??
awesome video, i cannot find in the video where you say which make and model of arrows these are…
nevermind, stopped the video and zoomed in to find it.
I'm shooting 60lbs with a 27" draw and a 25.5" arrow weighing 307 grains getting 290 fps out of my lift 33. That's the fastest bow I've ever had.

Man, I'd appreciate it if you did a PSE carbon bow review.
ive made a 209 grain arrow that is 600 spine 29 inches which i shot with my 50#@28 turkish bow and it shot fasttt
Cool but is that enough spine? I’d have thought at 80 pounds (shoot even 70) you’d wants the 250’s
Awsome that a guy from NC won!
My rip xv came with a 21gr insert
Hey Chris what is your draw length?
I wanna know how far you will get with your pins

I'm shooting 368g @ 63#....294fps
@ChrisBeeReal I ran the xv in a 80lb pse mine were 334gn at 340 fps
Wondering what the dead head ended up scoring or did I miss it?
Of course, the guy that wins already has a lift 😂😂
Chris will you BEE tac in Indiana for the first time?
I never win stuff like this 😂 but, I'll def. keep entering!!!!!

So with the 5gn rule 350 would be the lightest I could go with a 70lb bow safely? (Not sponsored by Mathews so it’s an expensive mess up) 😂
Yea
bilingual chris made me laugh love your videos❤
350 grains at 80 lb draw weight is insufficient arrow weight according to the 5gr/lb rule. Your limbs are going to take a beating.

The arrows have been impossible to get though
Amazing 🔥😊

Showing the winners phone number prolly not a good idea :P
@chrisbee go on a alligator hunt with a bow that would be fun 800$ for a 6-6 1/2 foot one
those poor limbs lol good thing you have Mathews on speed dial
350 grain arrow at 80 lbs and the speed is still less than advertised by Mathews lol

Victory spine marks aren’t accurate unfortunately. I’ve tested them with multiple dozens and at most 3/12 will be pretty close to their spine mark.
I was wondering about that
Yes I don’t believe it either, you tell me they get it right when they silk screen the label on.🤷🏼♂️
Hi
Why would you shoot such a light arrow? That's an accident waiting to happen. You know better. What would Griv say ?
Make your d loop longer and you won’t induce as much torque
