  • The Jolana Star IX was manufactured in Krnov, Czechoslovakia, between 1969 and approximately 1975. It features a 25” scale, a Jazzmaster-like vibrato, two Alnico pickups, and a rotary tone control that works as follows: treble cut, normal tone, and bass cut. I was pleasantly surprised by how well it sounds and how well it stays in tune! This particular example has been upgraded with a Tune-o-Matic bridge and some OEM Schaller-style machine heads.
This unique little beast is pretty rare, especially one like this-a first series with Alnico pickups. It’s the lightest solid body ever, almost like holding a feather.
Recorded using the Neural DSP Morgan Suite.
