I realize Im kinda off topic but do anyone know of a good website to watch new tv shows online?
Siegfried possession scene is definitely not as horrific as it used to be in Soul Blade : the sword guard viciously gripping his hand then starting mutating him, then yelling of agony as his soul is being corrupted by the cursed sword.
Which is significant as the design of Nightmare's claw arm in SC1 is a nod to the design of Soul Edge in Soul Blade, giving the impression that Soul Edge's old hilt merged with Siegfried's hand when it grasped and mutated him into Nightmare.
How Siegfried killed his father was also more tragic and horrific in the original version of the story, too.

He ran away and became crazy, somehow convincing himself that he didn't do it and had to find the killer...
It's better than SC5 and 4 but anyone else miss the music video openings?

I was really hoping they would recreate the opening from SC1 for the sake of nostalgia. Sadly this did not happened.
Oh yeah. The music video openings are massively better.

I always appreciate the pre-fight narration in Soul Calibur games. Kinda campy, but also gives it a prestige as two mofos check check their gear as they square up. "His motivation: the thirst for power"

This time, they took the story back to where it all began.
Till today 2020, sc 3's opening and storyline, soundtrack still prevails as one of the best.
Soul Edge's opening is the best of the franchise.

@@aldiascholarofthefirstsin1051 when you have a low budget, maybe you dont try to add more than 6 characters and more than 2 game modes? They could have reduced the scope and have a small beautiful polished game, so when it sells well they expand it. Now the franchise is dead this horrible SC6 is what many will remember from it.

This game has been the best sold Soul Calibur since 2, the franchise is far from dead, it is resurrected like Cervantes himself.

you're clearly a SC fanboy while I am a SC fan. I know when the franchise i liked dropped the ball and I'm ready to call them out/boycott them for it. I liked SC2, SC3 and SC4 (my favorite) for everything new they brought. I didnt like SC5 that much but it still deserved a purchase from me. SC6 though is a lazy uncreative attempt to revive the franchise. To this day, fanboys like you refuse to admit the truth but the numbers don,t lie, the game did not meet expectations and the franchise is done.
Should have just used Soul Edge's opening.

@@hunggamerofficial3252 the game became wack in 4 and 5, 4 being slow and, 5 introduced meter mechanic and went to simplified controls. but i also think it lost its popularity coz there wasnt arcade edition after 3 not like tekken it went on till 7

I would've preferred if the intro showed us what happened, instead of telling with the pictures. That way, for new comers to the series, they'll see what happened while being curious on who the people in the intro were.

@@IamaPERSON Low budget and Namco didn't put faith and support on the Soul Calibur team during the development of the game. They straight ignored them, that is why Project Soul had to make it like this.

I feel like the Transformation from Sigfried to Nightmare went WAY to fast, should have just been him having red eyes at first, and then the story explaining that over time he became Nightmare.
I get that Nightmare is a fan favorite (I sure do) but that was skipping over details a bit too much.
Well, I guess they're paying homage to Soul Edge, but yeah, a little reworking would be nice.
Also in the original timeline he fought souledge until he wield it and became nightmare

Somehow by taking it, he accepted the deal, while not exactly knowing what he was doing so he got transformed but now he just plainly looks stupid and mentally weak.
Now, this is the opening SC1 didn't have, if it wasn't an epic, musical 1990's training montage.

I also like how every character in the game was like ten feet apart at the climax of Soul Blade, except Voldo, who was dogpaddling in circles off the coast of Sri Lanka.

Ive played Soul Calibur 2,4, 5, and lost swords and i never knew this
They are in 1 and 2, and now 6 (since it takes place at the time of 1) from then on they are different entities,there's more to it though.
Would have preferred they did a SCII style intro that actually showcases the characters.
Based on the intro, this games seems less of a sequel and more of a reboot of the first soulcalibur game

I didn't mind the context, but the exposition was a bit much. I would've liked if we had the SC2/SC3 style of opening, with the character intros sort of showing the story and letting us piece it together.

I heard this game was a reboot after Soul Edge. I never played it nor have I played 5. 4 left me a bitter taste but I heard 6 was actually good.

It's a good story piece for new comers to sum it up, but I miss the musical intro, where it also showed characters duking it out or on their journey.
Why did they change the way Siegfried obtained the sword? I don’t have a problem with the story but how it’s presented here in SC6 just takes away from the desperation and fear Siegfried had in the original game. In this one he just walks up and grabs it with all this lightning and stuff. But in the original, he walked to it picked up first and took a good look at it. Then suddenly it fiercely clutched onto his hand. He then desperately tried to get it off before surrendering to the sword and being struck by lightning ultimately transforming into Nightmare thereafter. This iteration of that event is not engaging at all. It’s kinda just slapped together and boom here it is he turns into Nightmare now move on. This is the problem that I’ve come to realize that Bandai Namco has when it comes to their story telling. Well, as far as Soul Edge/Calibur and Tekken goes. The stories start off fairly decent and somewhere in the middle it gets better/good. But for some reason or another the story takes a turn for the worst. With inconsistencies and changes in the direction of how certain characters motives and reasons for fighting are. Which ultimately has an effect on how the game is, in my opinion, enjoyed overall. At least story wise. Now there could have been any number of reason last as to why they decide to change things such as story. I know people don’t buy fighting games for story. However, a major part of why I like these 2 franchises is because of the story. In my opinion Tekken has a good story up until 6 then that aspect of Tekken just went downhill from there. Soul Edge/Calibur well the story was kinda meh but the first installment was the best one to me story wise. Every subsequent game after that as far as story is concerned was kinda hit or miss up until this point in the 6th installment. Which brings me back to the original reason why I commented in the first place. The delivery of the recap of how Siegfried obtained the sword seems very lackluster and completely unengaging. Yes I know that’s not a word I just couldn’t think of another one to use.
This game's budget was a bag of chips and a coca cola, so i can forgive they for this.

Why is not in the game?
I always thought Nightmare's origins were kind of lame. So in canon, the two ladies slew Cervantes and destroyed one of the swords, yet they left behind the main blade and Siegfried the chosen one just so happened to stumble across it and didn't notice the sword pulsating with evil? That's a little too convenient. Even in the first timeline, I thought Siegfried would have faced some sort of competition for ownership of a valuable weapon like that at least.

This game has been on sale since Sunday at bestbuy for $19.99 and it instantly sold out in every bestbuy I couldn't find it no where...I was lucky to find one for the xbox one but the ps4 nothing. Pissed me the fuck off... all week long not a single fucking copy.
