But if you're new here, welcome, period! My name is Sasha and this is my space.
First off, Happy Black History Month!
Today's video is an extra special treat because you'll get to hear first hand, from Swizz Beatz himself, about he and his wife's new exhibition entitled "Giants". This collection of artwork, which Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys have been collecting over the years, is so diverse and captivating. And although their collection does include artists from all backgrounds, this particular show highlights the Black artists in their collection.
Since renewing my membership at the Brooklyn Museum, I am making it a priority this year to explore more artistic spaces. So when I saw that not only were Swizz and Alicia putting together a show, but that he would be giving a talk about his life and inspirations for the collection, I KNEW I had to be there! I am so happy I got the chance to hear how it all came together.
Luckily, I was able to film the talk, along with some of my favorites works featured in the exhibition, so I hope that you all not only enjoy this video visually, but that it inspires you to be a better artist. No matter how old or young you are, or where you are in the world, I truly believe that every single one of us holds within an artist. You've just gotta find your "medium" and show it to the world! These videos are one of my chosen mediums, and I hope my passion for creating videos for you all shows.

This was so refreshing to watch. With Andre 3000 doing a flute tracks instead of "just rapping" and Swizz Beatz showcasing his art collection instead of "just hip hop".
Hip Hop is officially out of the box....
Many artists are often multi-talented and force themselves to shine in a limited path. Shout outs to Paul Robeson....the last one to perfect so many crafts!
