Yeah the episode really downplays Steve as a bully when he's not in the mask and with the "symbol of love" for Carly Beth it feels more like they portray him as having some kind of a crush and not just being a bully for the fun of it
@@vhsdinosaurgo which is a BS device, especially since he and Chuck PUBLICLY HUMILIATED her in front of a LOT of people. I know this story was geared towards kids, but these two being so shameless in their pranks and making up excuses, it’s really, REALLY hard to be on side side in either the show or books.

There is a third book, but it came out way after the series ended.
And it's not an official sequel. Basically the Goosebumps Horrorland series reconned certain things
Kinda wish we saw Steve get tormented by first graders like in the boy; then again he and Chuck were MUCH worse in the books.
