I'm surprised how usefull your pronounciation tips are I'm getting more and more fluent just by watching you on youtube and instagram Thanks a million Your the best English teacher i've ever had
I am used to American English, but following your channel, since last year I am love with British English. Thank you for another lesson, Eliot. Greetings from Brazil :)
I've been practicing the british pronunciation for a few days and I really love your channel.😊 Thank you for the lessons. I'm spanish native speaker and this is really usefull not just for my pronunciation, but also as listening practices.👏💙
I like accent video. Its very useful. Thanks, recently, I have been preparing TOEIC exam, I can understand more words, especially,in my country, we learn American phonics.now, I try to overcome others.
Omg... bless you... I used to pronounce it wrong, exactly in the way it's written. My life will never be the same 😂 But now I know what I'm going to work on. Very, exceedingly useful!! Thank you
I literally just discovered you and can't stop watching your videos. Hopefully i will be able to pronounce the 'ths' right with a little practice, like in 'months' or 'depths'. Ugghhh so frustrating lol. Cheers from Argentina!
Hi! thanks for this video. I've been in England twice and I love it, all the culture, the accent, everything. English is an amazing language and I really love this way for learning something different everyday.
Love your vids mate, they help me a lot to sound more British. I noticed most of the things during my stay abroad, but couldn't really pin point the actual difference.
That's very useful. I think so many people have problem with understanding natives because of this..I have good musical hearing so my problem is more grammar than listening but this is very useful and important. Thank you Elliott💕
I'm not native so for me learning to use those requiers an effort as I would pronounce the single words without assimilation/connection. But this clearify many sounds I didn't really get when listening to Native speaking. Thanks!
I really enjoy your videos Elliot!!! Thank for this assimilation video, I really learn something new every time 😊👌🏻 is it the same pronunciation with "May God bless you?" Have a wonderful week 😄👍🏻
Hi, I have a few words that I'm struggling with; Literature, misrepresent/represent, enigmatic. That's just a few, I have many more but can't remember them now. Keep up the excellent work!
Another way to improve your British accent is by listening to your favorite music and it doesn't matter if the artist you're listening too is from England you can first read the lyrics and then practice to pronounce each word with a British accent include connected speech etc, Some British artist I know are Edd Sheeran, Adele, I think Dua Lipa is from England too(by the way sorry if I'm using England and then British interchangeable, It's because I'm sure if English and British or UK are the same 😅)
That's the rocking one👌. You know, I use the structure and many others while speaking although I hadn't known there's rule for that; and this is the point. Thank you👍
Hello M8, you alright ? I like your videos very much. The Videos are really helpful for English learning people. You are an incredible English teacher. Cheers for helping us become fluent in English 😊
I didn't know about the S+Y (Like Bless you -Bleshyou-) And I guess the sounds S+SH, T+Y, D+Y happens more involuntarily/naturally, but it's interesting to know about how and when it happens
Just seen this - as a slavist it makes an interesting point; the majority of these changes have been going on for centuries. When teaching English to Russians I make the point that the Russians have an advantage that their cyrillic has letters that actually show the beginnings of the assimilation process. Like English, there is both progressive and regressive with the "iotated" vowel being influenced by both pre-tonic and post-tonic stress and position of surrounding vowels; hence sun, sugar and pleasure having three differents sounds for the letter s - in pleasure the preceding vowels (as in fusion) bearing directly on the following "sure" and changing the value of s.
Nice, I picked most of this almost accidentally. Thanks for reassuring me I'm doing the right thing! I wish there was someone doing what you do, but with the Northern accent though :D
Hi Elliot, I'm going to London the followings months, I've got a B2 english level but I'm worry about if l'll be able to understand british people or not. This video is really helpful. Thank you 😊
