Yeah it's just being considerate of others, they also just try o do their job and if all day people hand them notes, especially 100 or 200 after few hours there's no change left and it quite complicated to get change from other shops or even a bank because banks sometimes ask for a little bit commission:( if I buy something for 2 zloty I won't give them even 20 zloty, I would feel like an ass, it helps to at least see if you have it and then say sorry because like.. It's not their fault if later on they don't have any change, it's a matter of cooperating as a community ^^
JS D The evil death stare is so real. You either have change or you get silently scolded in a passive-agressive manner. 😊 It’s basically a Polish tradition at this point. I think it’s also telling of our history. Poland regained its independence and democratic status fairly recently (30 years ago), so we haven’t yet had time to develop the „customer is always right and should be treated with deference” way of thinking most capitalist countries are known for.

Poland is amazing for people who want to live healthily, because of fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, fresh good quality meat, etc. are really cheap and at the same time high quality. The Quality of fresh produce is very high but the prices are lower than in most of Europe. Another thing is that for the price of a Large Bucket of Chicken in KFC you can eat dinner in a really nice restaurant where you'll get full service, great food and very good atmosphere. Poland is one of the best countries in the world in terms of Quality of Living VS Costs of Living.
the thing about what you mencioned with that reaction to wanting to pay with a bill... hahaha it's actually not that weird. mostly it's because there is little or no coins left in cash register (because most of the people often pay in big bills even for things that don't cost much so coins quickly disappear) and it's always problematic for a saleswoman because she gotta give change and the only thing she sees in cash register is many 50, 100 złoty bills and little 2 and 5 złoty coins etc. it can happen especially in bigger cities/popular places. sometimes in rare situations when there's really no coins left they can even ask you, if you could pay with card-telling you that in advance to not be shocked or anything :P
Maybe the title should be: Poland: An American's perspective. Greetings from Ursynów, Warsaw I'm so happy that I can see a foreigner that enjoys staying in Poland especially if it's someone from that far away:) 😄
It feels so good to hear all these nice things about my country. Usually people have negative opinions about Poland so I was a little bit surprised. And also I would definitely recommend you visiting Wroclaw ❤️ You’re such a nice and positive person I love that!!

Spent last year in Poland coaching football, I can attest to the language barrier, If youre in the big cities you can get away with speaking english, but i was in a smaller town so you really had to try hard to get it. Loved the people there glad youre getting the time to embrace it all
It's nice to hear Your opinion about Poland. Polish people usually think about them that They sad, very closed for other person or very nervous. For me It's very nice that others see us differently. Maybe Poles should believe in themselves more often? Greetings from Poland.
Such a lovely and positive video! I'm from a small town in Poland and all I've ever wanted was to be OUT! I've lived in a few countries in the past decade and each time I go back to Poland, I see how it changes, develops, how people smile more, dance more, eat vegetarian food more (and when I turned veggie 17 years ago they looked at me as if I were an alien). Poland is definitely becoming a happier and more cosmopolitan place to live, yet still mantaining its culture. It's wonderful to see foreigners falling in love with that country and spreading the word. Keep up with the positive vibes, Luke! 🤗
I love your videos and it makes me so happy that video about Poland happen to blow up on your chanel like that with so many views!!! People need to hear about beauty of Poland, not only hear about the bad thaaangs! Greetings from Krakow
Great video Luke! I have a Polish fiancé, and I also enjoyed Poland as well. I think the most shocking thing is how beautiful and clean, and super sweet the Polish people are!
Your observation about Polish cashiers showing their desperation when you don't have coins to pay for small buys is spot on. 🤓 I must say you've been pretty unlucky if it happens to you all the time.🧐 From my experience, it tends to happen in small convenience stores. Rarely so in big supermarkets. 🏬 The negative reaction may come from the fact that many people abuse the fact that those little stores always strive to please their customers, and they pay with a 200 zlotys bill for a chewing gum that costs 3 zlotys. The shop assistants feel obliged to give change but if too many people do that the till quickly runs out of coins and smaller bills to give change.💰 I think that the sigh of despair that you experienced is not directed at you, they just feel like they might not be able to serve you because of someone "robbing" them of the coins earlier on in the day.😤 The point is that most likely they don't sigh at you personally. I can see that the reaction like that can be hard to read but unless you pay with a 200 zlotys bill for chewing gum, there is no need to take it too personally. 😉
how you say "szcy" ? "exact change" - polish speciality hahahahaha I agree with the mirror remark - just be open minded, smile a lot and enjoy your stay :)
" *m i e s z c z y n a z i ę b r o w i c z* " I just want you to say that (im 99% sure you cant if your not polish i mean there are harder things ro say but thats just about as much as you will need anyways).
Respect for you dude! I'm from Poland and while we do have some problems (e.g. the politics), I genuinely feel that the country is very diverse, there's something for everyone. Places to Visit: • All the major cities (Warsaw, Kraków, Białystok e.g.) • Gdańsk - for the seaside and tourism. • 'Hel' - for watersports Note: Kraków is also beneficial as you can see 'Auschwitz', an Original Nazi Concentration camp that attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists. Very worth seeing for every person that knows anything about History. Peace✌
Hey! I'd like to adress your "concerns" about the change thing! People usually ask you for "drobne" because at the end of the day, in most work places, we are supposed to give back in smallest possible coins what we have taken at the beginning of the shift. Employers might get mad if for example you take a 100zł at the beginning of shift in coins and give back 60 in coins and 40 in bills. It's not that we like to collect the coins ;) Also, some people are super lazy and just don't want to look for the coins in their cash register
It's so great to hear that You really like Poland! I was born in Warsaw and I think it's one of the most beautiful places in the whole world. Hope to see You someday and share a high five with You!
Problem with coins comes from the most obvius reason. Most peapole pay with bill and creditcard. So most shops restaurants etc don't have too much coins. And when you pay 20zł bill for something that costs for example 6,99 they only have 2 and 5zł coins. So there is a problem to give you those 13zł back :)
Yes, there are so many tourists now! When I was a kid (I'm from Warsaw) I saw people of colour maybe once a year, not counting restaurants. Now everytime I use public transportation I do :) Really happy to see some variety in our society
Great job promoting Poland, super nice open attitude to explore beyond Ohio. Lots of giving love to be loved. I’m glad this place becomes ur home away from home, u r fully embraced here. What’s ur favorite place in Poland?
Im so happy you feel like home in Poland. Unfortunately social-media showing us as a racist and nationalist. And basically closed for any ‘news’ grumpy people. We have our tradition we want to keep and very complicated past - historically - we are made from. I’m pleased you understand that. All the best for you ☺️☺️
This video made me so happy. I’ve lived in Scotland since I was 11 years old I’m 19 now. Poland here seems to be a negative conversation starter and it made me feel kind of shy to say that I’m actually polish. I get annoyed when somebody asks me where I’m from because they always seem disappointed. Although whenever I go to Poland for summer I just get reminded how amazing Poland is, this is why I don’t understand why Poland has such a negative image. 😓
I guess the reason why u have a great time in Poland is because u give a good vibe and it comes back to you. From what I've seen many foreigners say Polish peeps are unhappy=they don't smile randomly and maybe it's true sometimes but you can bump into all different people so it depends. From what I've experienced in England a lot of people say stuff but they don't really mean it so if you see polish person smiling to you and saying how are you, it's a big chance that it's pure and honest.
almost everyone here is staring through the window when someone passes by xdd. Once i recorded my grandma looking through the gap that is beetwen the door frame and door. it was so funny haaha
It's so amazing to hear that someone likes Poland so much! There could be many great titles for your book about Poland, depending on what it would be about. 1. Poland, my second home; 2. Poland, pieróg of the world (ideal for cooking book); 3. Hard language, easy people- everything about Poland; 4. Give me all your coins! How to shop in Poland; 5. Poland- from countryside to big city.
To all English people, Try to say it fast, : Brzęczyszczykiewicz, Konstantynopolitańkiewiczówna, Kwas deoksyrybonukleinowy. - It is almost impossible to say it correctly, even for Poles xD
Also the thing with us being kind of... Stoic in public? There's no societal pressure to be happy and smiling and approachable when you're in public which honestly? I find comforting. You're not expected to smile unless someone is talking to you and for us that "blank face" is a sign of genuineness (?) I think.
Indeed. I spent most of my summer there last year. Krakow, Zakopane, Warsaw. Loved it!

karton realista it depends what city on where there’s poor people and stuff but yea without a car it’s very hard
I’m Polish and I am very thankful that you made a video about it, I think that it is a beautiful country
Omggg i’ m so happy that you saing things like this! I’m from poland, from warsow, and i feel soooo happy right now! Cause a lot of times i heread bad thing about my Country and now you said all this beautiful thing! God bless people like you! 🙏
Book title: Poland - Discovering a gem
Hazem Zahab love that!
Edim 108 the same thing everywhere its just what u prioritorize
Oooo .... You are so nice. Welcome in Poland 🇵🇱 I am glad you like my country.
the thing about what you mencioned with that reaction to wanting to pay with a bill... hahaha it's actually not that weird. mostly it's because there is little or no coins left in cash register (because most of the people often pay in big bills even for things that don't cost much so coins quickly disappear) and it's always problematic for a saleswoman because she gotta give change and the only thing she sees in cash register is many 50, 100 złoty bills and little 2 and 5 złoty coins etc. it can happen especially in bigger cities/popular places. sometimes in rare situations when there's really no coins left they can even ask you, if you could pay with card-telling you that in advance to not be shocked or anything :P
i cant tell you how many times i would get bitched at for this last year lol
Luke, it is clear you are living your best life!!!! Very cool
So excited I found this video. Going to Poland in August. So very excited 😍
Maybe the title should be: Poland: An American's perspective.
Greetings from Ursynów, Warsaw
I'm so happy that I can see a foreigner that enjoys staying in Poland especially if it's someone from that far away:)

❤️❤️❤️ That was sweet y'all always welcome in Poland :3
It feels so good to hear all these nice things about my country. Usually people have negative opinions about Poland so I was a little bit surprised. And also I would definitely recommend you visiting Wroclaw ❤️ You’re such a nice and positive person I love that!!
In a Globalist Europe where cultures & countries have been eroded, Poland is a rare magical place, where you have a unique beautiful culture & tremendous people! So much respect for Poland & the Polish!!! Epic country!! God bless Poland 🇵🇱

Very nice video. I live in Warsaw (originally from the UK), and yes you are so right about being positive - it comes naturally when you arrive here.
Wow I’m a little bit shocked because of telling that polish people are kind and nice and open and all of this positive things. I’m from Poland and I can’t see any of this, but I understand you and glad you find a place for yourself in my country. I wish you luck! 👌
Piękne słowa o Polsce 🇵🇱
Beautiful words about Poland 🇵🇱
Szkoda tylko, że nieprawdziwe.
@sham sham XD.. A może jest po prostu taki pozytywny? Tacy ludzie istnieją, dlatego też niektórzy chcą wyjeżdżać z tego kraju do np. takiej Ameryki, żeby w końcu spotkać pozytywna energie, good vibes, otwartość umysłu, a nie "kOlOroWy chcE (..) zebY idIOtki maJtkI sciagGałY..." chlopieee weź wyjdź
Hmmm................ Chyba jesteś upośledzony.
I am happy you enjoy POLAND
Thank you for kindness and some warm words about Poland.
You are more than welcome to visit any time. :)
Loved this video and hearing your perspective of Poland, hope you have many more good experiences 😁

Polish people are super clean and super sweet? hmm.
Poland is great, I love the place.
It's nice, when someone nice, talk nice about your country😁
The only reason why I like Poland it’s bcs it very clean and there’s no gangs
Gangs no but lots of mafias in small cities or villagies
We sent all of the gangs to Chicago
Its not as Clean as you think it is
@@krystianpiwowarczyk6372 its definitly clean enough by my standards

As an American living in Poland, I totally have to agree with you on how amazing it is here!!
They thing you and the comments say about my home really warms my heart
We take our shoes off everytime we come home or visit someone, that might be odd for someone from America.
W moim domu zaznaczam by nie ściągać butów - zawsze mówię: "to nie muzeum", ale jeśli ktoś usilnie chce ściągnąć, to mu nie zabraniam :)
kingstonvaliu ale jednak w większości domów ściąga się buty
Asians expect the same courtesy. Always take off your shoes when you enter an Asian's home.
I lived in warsaw for a year and i am trying to go back for good there!! I love Poland!
thank you for this video and nice words about Poland. We still have many complexes but it's getting better 🙂
Its so nice to hear so much lovely things about my Country! Greetings from Gdańsk
how you say "szcy" ?
"exact change" - polish speciality hahahahaha
I agree with the mirror remark - just be open minded, smile a lot and enjoy your stay :)
" *m i e s z c z y n a z i ę b r o w i c z* "
I just want you to say that (im 99% sure you cant if your not polish i mean there are harder things ro say but thats just about as much as you will need anyways).
Thank you for this amazing words about Poland. We all polish people appreciate it a lot. Love to you!

Martyna Dorszewska do u know how to speak polish?
I do too lmfao
Sameeee
No to chyba czas na nas, trzeba wracać !
Respect for you dude! I'm from Poland and while we do have some problems (e.g. the politics), I genuinely feel that the country is very diverse, there's something for everyone.
Places to Visit:
• All the major cities (Warsaw, Kraków, Białystok e.g.)
• Gdańsk - for the seaside and tourism.
• 'Hel' - for watersports
Note: Kraków is also beneficial as you can see 'Auschwitz', an Original Nazi Concentration camp that attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists.
Często tak jest w polsce większość płaci kartą
Have a great time in Poland we always respect people who respect our culture and heritage.
Ahh thank you!!! and yes I love it there so its always a great time :) and thank you for watching!
Thank you for your videos, I wish you have a lot of great time in Poland :)
Ahh my pleasure!!!!! Thank you for taking the time to watch!! 😊😁😁
I’m polish and I’m so happy that you like it here!! ☺️
Ahh yess I love it there!! 😁😁
Im so happy you feel like home in Poland. Unfortunately social-media showing us as a racist and nationalist. And basically closed for any ‘news’ grumpy people.
We have our tradition we want to keep and very complicated past - historically - we are made from.
I’m pleased you understand that.
All the best for you ☺️☺️
Well, look at who is ruling Poland: the extreme right wing people. What do you expect?!
It warms my heart
"Kiełbasa and History"lol
Yes No and pierogi
This video made me so happy. I’ve lived in Scotland since I was 11 years old I’m 19 now. Poland here seems to be a negative conversation starter and it made me feel kind of shy to say that I’m actually polish. I get annoyed when somebody asks me where I’m from because they always seem disappointed. Although whenever I go to Poland for summer I just get reminded how amazing Poland is, this is why I don’t understand why Poland has such a negative image. 😓
It was so funny 😁
And you know Luke that the lack an answer is also the answer 😉 🙌🏻Glad you had great time here! 🙌🏻🙃
😂😁😁😂😂
Also the thing with us being kind of... Stoic in public? There's no societal pressure to be happy and smiling and approachable when you're in public which honestly? I find comforting. You're not expected to smile unless someone is talking to you and for us that "blank face" is a sign of genuineness (?) I think.
