- How Rare is Your Body? #special.
Humans are all different and unique in myriad ways that extend far beyond the obvious variations in physical appearance. These differences manifest in our genetic makeup, cognitive processes, emotional responses, life experiences, and even in the microscopic communities of bacteria that live within us.
Genetically, each person carries a unique combination of DNA sequences. Even though we share over 99% of our genetic code with other humans, the small fraction of variation accounts for individual differences in traits such as susceptibility to certain diseases, physical characteristics, and even aspects of personality and behavior. These genetic differences influence how we respond to medications, how we metabolize food, and how we perceive the world around us.
Cognitively, our brains are wired in unique patterns that affect how we think, learn, and solve problems. Neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections, ensures that our cognitive pathways are shaped by our experiences, education, and environment. This leads to diverse ways of processing information, making decisions, and creating.

The unfocusing your eyes was helpful for those hidden image posters in the 90s
Its so funny that a skill that I trained myself to be able to use for Magic Eye images is apparently a "rare" trait
My mom was so uptight she couldn't relax enough to see magic eye and burst blood vessels in her eyes trying 😢
I thought everyone was able to do that!
Ikr.
Also wayy more than 50% can do it. It's rare to find someone who can't!
"only some people can unfocus their vision at will"
**slowly takes out contact lenses**
Lmfao yes!!🤣🤣
😂😂😂
Lololol that made me giggle (I'm an optometrists daughter ) 😂
Lol but like without contact lenses or is that all so counted in the experiment
*lifts glasses*
The last one 😭 i remember my mom walking into my room and I was sat on my bed, hands pressed to my eyes, told her I was “watching the cool light thing my eyes do” and tried to explain to her how it looked like I was falling thru clouds and seeing city lights below, never knew there was an actual name for it 😂
When ever it happened to me I was just scared it there was something wrong with me 😅
I have all of those, you just increased my self confidense by 100% !
Sameeeeee

You're telling me that people walk around without a voice in their head??? I bet they're the happier group of humans...
I thought, for my whole life, everyone has their own inner voices. This is new to me.
i mean i can hear my own voice as though i’m talking about things in my head, but i don’t know if that’s the same thing. it’s less like a narration and more like my thoughts are framed as though i’m having a one-sided conversation
@@user-mo5vl8gq4v Same. I can guide it into saying things and sort of predict what it would say. I can also make sound like other people and I can have a conversation in my mind for hours at a time almost like a one-man podcast.
Nah
it's a double-edged sword, the intrusive thoughts get very loud and before you know it you're fighting off an annoying voice arguing about whether a hotdog's a sandwich or benefits of suicide during jimothy's presentation on sales strategies
I always thought that focusing your eye was normal??? I would legit focus on and off a random object because I thought it was cool 😂
Dude...same
It is normal. He’s making up statistics to bait people into feeling special. They’re all normal traits.
@@sophiaavamathewsI mean he said 50%. That’s 4 billion people
I told my father that I could voluntarily unfocus my eyes and his response was "Well but isn't that the baseline? Everyone's eyes are unfocused until they voluntarily focus on something." But most people's reactions to what I say makes me think that, no, that is not the case.
yeah same
Seeing those galaxies as a kid really was cool
Me with adhd realizing I do that in class when I can’t focus😮
I have the Cupid’s bow lip and it never really occurred to me to notice that not everyone has it. 🤔
I think they just never rly make extensive enough of a research outside limited geographical sample ,many ppl i see have cupid bow...😂
Same here
Same I just assumed everyone had a similar mouth shape, different fullness but same/similar outlines.
He's wrong though. I just looked it up and the V shape upper lip is what the 5% number is actually talking about. Which is not the way all cupids bows look. Almost EVERYBODY has a cupids bow to some degree. But the v shaped one is the rarest.
Everyone I know has that lip form. Some more extrem than others but only full "round" lips i saw were overdrawn ones
Only 1 3rd of people have an inner monologue?
Yep, also, not everyone can see images in their mind. And those who can, see them in varying forms of clarity. To not have it is called Aphantasia.
@@EnderWarlock I used to be able to see things in my mind but now its just blank.
@@eggchucker1Interesting
Got to go on an antiparasite diet
I think it relates to how much self consciousness one has. It is not a biologically determined feature I think. I find my monologues diminish when I dont get much time in my man cave.
Yes! The unfocusing thing helps me when I'm doing realism, although taking a few steps back is also good
I can vibrate my iris/ eyeballs and unfocus them, it feels really special to be able to do that
The way unfocusing your vision can be helpful to artists is because it gets rid of your ability to view the details, leaving you with the basic shape and colours to build from
And how did you know, that I asked myself that? You mind reader!! 😳
I have it! :)
@@Kiyaaa_xoxo.9 So do I!
@@Nanoha5 I figured I'd say it because he didn't fully explain how it's helpful! Also I got the information from my Opi, who's also an artist!
I kind of got it? I can blur and unblur, but usually I need an object that has focus. Like an apple and a background, I can blur the apple with a crisp background or vice versa.
How do you think without talking in your brain?!
Images.
@@UwUImShioand if you can't?
@@lochiegriffiths4712 you just have a feeling that you should do something so you do it.
Look, even plants can think and run whole family networks with support systems and they do not have "a brain". 😂 There's way more possibilities between heavens and earth than our very very limited own experience.
Also, have you never experienced flow state thus far? 🤔 When you're "just present" and "just doing stuff" and thinking doesn't really audibly happen?
Or been in any emergency situation where you "just function" and later your brain kicks in and the thinking is usually what is followed by strong emotions that had no room to be processed before?
You think with pictures, feelings etc
Him: this Feature is rare af
Me: I have all these features like. Right this second.😅
I can do all of these (including eyebrow) except the last one. :) I feel special.
My adhd ass unfocusing my eyes:
Adhd folks who unfocus them and refocus them in boredom
I used to do that a lot I still do now but not dignose or anything 😂
@@100strawberries10 Well the link with being able to unfocus your eyes at will and adhd IS weak like the dude in the short/tik tok said. When he said it I remembered being able to do that and me having adhd is probably just a coincidence :)
I can to I can also vibrate my eyes to

The lights are so funny to me now. I remember my (highly spiritual) mother telling me I was special because I could “see people’s auras” 😭😭😭
Relate, my dad thought they were "spirits" and would take me on walks 🫠
@@orionking6700 No real thats the exact same as my dad 😭
I would look at them on my ceiling to help me fall asleep when i was younger
I still see them.
My mom told me they're angel lights. And depending on the color of the sparkles they were different angels. All I remember is that green was for Archangel Raphael.
Having them actually be a scientific thing makes so much more sense.
Unfocusing my eyes is so useful for me when i do art. no idea why, just is.
I must be rare asf I have all of these things. Seriously though I thought the head voice and the eye focus thing was something everyone could do.
WATCHING THE LIGHTS IN MY EYES WAS MY FAVORITE THING TO DO WHEN I WAS BORED AT SCHOOL!!! I always wondered why I can’t really see them anymore
Same😢 I remember doing that during math class when I was 7
i used to see them right before i fell asleep, and sometimes they'd be in the shape of stars and i would pretend it were a game and the more stars i collected the more points i scored 😭😭
I love unfocusing my eyes when viewing a Christmas tree.

what??? i thought everyone had an inner monologue with their own voices...i can't picture myself doing stuff, i have to literally convince myself it's time to go to the store
All I do is think, my inner monologue is on 24/7. It’s not like it’s un-peaceful though, it’s not loud or annoying, it just doesn’t shut off and is always quietly running in the background.
@@Ryan-cb1ei I have inner monologue but I can also just think with no monologue AND picture fully scenarios in 3d and everything
That sounds horrific lol
cant imagine having someone voice in your head like telling you what to do or saying random stuff😱 I thought it was only in movies
I don’t have an inner monologue. Instead, I have imagery and impressions. If I needed to go to the store I’d think the required items visually, then the store’s facade, inside the store, in the car, the item, the store, the car, etc, all wrapped up in a sense of urgency (and often time reluctance, lol).
not having a voice inside your brain seems like a lonely existence
I don’t have one and i can’t imagine having one😭😭😭 it sounds like it would get annoying😭

They are normal things.
They're normal (except for maybe the ADHD) just uncommon
@@UwUImShio ADHD is normal too.
@@lyndafjellman3315 'disorder' is literally in the name. It's a condition.
@@UwUImShio You could say that living is a condition. That is what they call it in the DSM-5. I suspect they will rename it again in the relatively near future as ADHD is studied more thoroughly. After all it has been renamed twice in my lifetime and "attention deficit" does not describe what is really happening. There are many "diseases" and "conditions" that are no longer recognized by medicine because they were flat wrong. Just one example, Asperger's is no longer a "condition" or a diagnosis.
For my inner dialog, I can actually have it be any voice I want. An actor I like, or a RUclipsr, etc. it’s pretty fun to mess around with.

For the last one, I have VSS, so I’m always seeing weird phenomena with my eyes, including visual snow lol
Cupids bow, definitely yes- the ability to focus and unfocus my eyes at will is also a definite yes- Ngl, I thought everyone had that little narration thing going on xd
Yes. The unfocusing eye one. I’ve tried finding it online and could never find other people that could do it. I use it all the time with my art instead of stepping away from my piece. It helps so much!!!
Same! I always wondered if anyone else could do it 😅
It's easier for me to do it with things up close but I can definitely do it

Same, though with the eye focus thing, I can actally take it a step further. I can actally, so some extent, dilate my eyes. It isn't much and I can't control how much I do it, but I can make my eyes dilate and constrict

I can unfocus my eyes and it makes it a lot easier to win staring contests lol😂
I saw the lights as a kid a TELL ME WHY I thought they were fairies coming out of my tinkerbell night light LOL I’m crying 😭
Being able to unfocus your eyes at will is super helpful for adjusting your eyes quickly to the dark, so instead of waiting for your eyes to adjust, you just snap them into 'position'
Everyone can unfocus their vision. Dude is pulling these out of his ass.
😮
Wait...really? I thought I could see better in the dark then a lot of people thanks to my light-coloured eyes, but now that you're telling me this....maybe I just adjusted them? IDK, I used to think everyone could unfocus their eyes at will😅

Unfocusing your eyes is sooo useful with art, i can see if the color is taking too much from what i want the focus to be on and if they look good together and stuff like that
I also use it in art a lot lol it's perfect for gauging the general shapes and amount of certain colours and the balance etc
Yes same its helpful. Its easier to paint what u see in ur mind already, after i focus and draw the details. Didnt think some others couldnt understand/focus
I can do it but but I've heard it isn't good for your eyes if you do it too often. Idk how true that is but always worth keeping that in your thoughts.
I’ve got all of what you just said, ADHD as well and 100% sure I’m also autistic. I’m 45 and can still do the push on your eyes for a cool light show . I do find that it strains my eyes a bit more than it used to but I can still do it. I didn’t know most people grow out of it
I have the Cupids bow lips, the unfocus eyes and the narrator in my head.
Is anyone else able to make your eyes shiver?
I can’t make it happen, but I has. Usually when I’m tired. Seems like it’s similar to a yawn or unfocusing.
Yup. I have to unfocus my eyes to do it though
Omg yea, my friends find that creepy, I actually have recently discovered that a guy from my class can also do it, so now we just stare at each other while having a "who can shake their eyes for longer" competition.

I can't, but it's called voluntary nystagmus, very cool and pretty rare (8% of the population can do it I think)
I genuinely assumed this was all normal
Judging by the comments section it is all normal lol…thousands of people here all saying “no way I have all of these!” (me included) 😅
I only recently found out about the voice in your head thing and that was a mind blow. Like, people just go around without a little narrator or commentator in their head all day??? Sometimes the voice isn’t even my own but someone else I like the sound of or have heard a lot of lately (or depends on the situation, like if I’m doing something I know is goofy or trying to be serious)
As someone who can voluntarily unfocus their eyes, this skill is very helpful when you zone out
Thanks for reminding me of those lights!! I miss those! I'd squeeze my eyes every day all day and could even choose what colour I wanted to see
At 20 I still have phosphenes though I also have visual snow which is most likely the cause of them continuing. Sometimes I can’t see at night because the phosphenes are too opaque and bright to see past. I love them when I’m just lying down but it can get a bit inconvenient
I'm 34 and still got them... It must be bs...
Same. Yay pretty lights and eyeball ISOs!
Me too, I'm 21 and I still got them... just a little bit
I hope it doesn't go away
I don't have mine anymore:(

I can do the eye thing!! And omg I used to love looking at the lights! 😂
I’m a blue eyed ginger and I have all of these and I bet a lot of money my friends will all be like “it’s cause you’re a ginger, Gingy”
I love unfocusing my eyes on job interviews and dates because it really helps me be able to maintain direct eye contact while speaking to someone when I'm a little bit anxious. I'm answering the video in my head, but I never just tell myself "Let's go to the store"
I have the bow, can unfocus my eyes, and the inner monologue.
My parents always told me I was special.
I'm really got at navigating and staying oriented because my brain is particularly skilled at thinking in 3D... It's like an 3D space hovering around my head, and I can overlay places im in with what's beyond the walls (if im familiar with a place) or turn imagined objects around and view them from different angles. Admittedly, it's something between an image and the vague feeling of a gesture or surface. Makes it real nice when I'm drawing perspective, too!
I also have a narrator voice, but it's less a constant stream and more exclamation "oh shite," "well dang," "lol," "nooo?", etc and while i can spell well, that's more to do with the ability to picture words with their individual letters--like seeing a word on paper. It doesn't necessarily mean I'm good at *remembering* words when I was need them though! Then i get into a mess of vague feelings and syllables
I've been lifting one eyebrow since before I could walk. I thought the photographer was acting strange while he tried to get my attention. Hillarious pic.
"Has an association with adhd" yes i can confirm I am very good at going out of focus, in more than one way 😂
