This is the latest news from the music production world. The LA-2A plugin by Universal Audio is free until the end of the month. Synplan 2 is out and has AI features. Minimal Audio releases a new synth called Current. And Sonarworks has a new add-on with virtual monitoring. Dharti and I will also unbox the new MiCreator by Austrian Audio which is a microphone and audio interface in one!

Can anyone tell me why I need another compressor plugin? I barely know how to use the ones I already have.
We as community need to react strongly against subscription models. In the long run it will always be more expensive solution
Agreed. Waves has tried it more than once! InMusic is brands is SUSPECT.. AKG etc... 🤔
I’m willing to accept subscription for a bundle of multiple plugins. Subscription for ONE plugin? Heck no!
@@afiefzaki6265 Interpretations may vary, but Current IS a bundle of multiple plugins, with effects of a quality and extent you won't find in other synths, PLUS a growing catalog of versatile, high-quality sample libraries and presets. If you've never auditioned any of their sample libraries, you really should - they're excellent in my opinion. Compared to the also great sample libraries by Glitchmachines, while lower in quantity as of now, I'd say the production quality of Minimal Audio sample libraries is a noticeable touch above.

The new Synplant update is crazy! GREAT for helping to learn sound-design, and just having general fun with changing cool sounds from sample packs!
Definitely recommend checking out the Audio Technical M50 BT2. I got them as a birthday gift to myself and absolutely love them. to be honest, I was pretty surprised at how good it sounded for casual listening and when I hardwired it to my Mac for production. Good sound all around

The free LA2A is not one of the already existing one. It is a new one build upon the Silver one with small difference. Still a really good one. The SoundID Monitor emulation is quite interesting.
As for the subscription only model, I'm not a fan of this Business model for technical tools. I mean, having subscription for entertainment purpose is ok for me. I don't really need to OWN every video game or movie I want to watch, but for my business, it is the opposite. Not only that, but I want to own my tools, not rent it every single time I need it. Specially when I use it every day.

I'm shopping for a friends bday and they're a piano player and wants to get into midi. Is there an affordable 61 weighted key controller. Don't really need a lot of features. Barebones is great.
Subscription models ruined gaming; I'm glad to see the united front against it in music. I know the trade-off is paying more up front, but I'm okay with that.

Best headphones I have ever heard are the Sennheiser HD400 Pro. Not only are they the most linear (flat) set of headphones in the market, they have very accurate imaging due to the angled drivers.
Distortion at high SPL is also extremely good.
A word of caution: Because these headphones are linear (flat) at Studio Reference Level (83-87db SPL at main listening position), if you like to listen at ear damaging levels (90dB or above) they will sound slightly harsh at the upper mid frequencies due to EQUAL LOUDNESS CONTOUR (perception of FR DEPENDS on SPL).
The accuracy of the Sennheiser HD400 Pro makes them perfect for mastering AND binaural reproduction (both of which requires and benefits from as linear of a FR as possible). In fact, the Sennheiser HD400 Pro are marketed to use with DearVR Pro (a Binaural simulation plug-in).
The MiCreator Studio sounds amazing! And the price! :-O I really don't need another mic - I barely use the ones I have! But for portability, it is amazing!
Also on the LA-2A give away plugin boutique has a good bundle on sale to go with it. Serial is way to get the discount.
Please do make an in-depth review of Synplant 2. It really needs more mainstream exposure and I’d love to hear your views.

Got it, Sanjay whats a good average setting for compressors on vocals ?
For ballads I usually do a moderate attack speed and longer release, and for faster songs, a fast attack. For the LA2A specifically I use it with very gentle compression - so raise the peak reduction until the needle is just jumping a little.

Just to let you know, synplant doesn't actually use samples and is entirely synthesized. when you load in a sample into genopatch it uses ai to create a patch that sounds like it, but in no part of the synth are samples in use

I downloaded it. Seems it's a free trial.
I downloaded it and using it does not say free trial I do have a ilok account so there's no problem.
That "free" compressor comes with a boat load of bloatware including iLok. Not worth it.
