- video.playbill.com Although it was announced that "Jesus Christ Superstar" was approaching the end its Broadway run, the production was still able to make a Broadway dream come true this past spring. Longtime Off-Broadway and regional performer Leo Ash Evens was cast as the Apostle Phillip in a temporary replacement role through July 1. Playbill met Evens just as he was leaving home and heading out to the Neil Simon Theatre for final rehearsal. We tagged along as Evens talked about fueling up for the long day, his love of the Upper West Side and his anticipation of his long-awaited (finally!) Broadway debut.

Susan Blake Too many successful actors, particularly in Hollywood, forget what it feels like to keep grinding and working hard, just relying on their fame. Certainly nice to see hard work and humility paying off here 🙂👍🏻
They are only down to earth because they don't have a choice haha. Because Broadway basically pays minimum wage unless you're a lead and that depends on what show and who you are.
Even just to be a backup dancer would be a dream!! The stage the energy and the city!! Its so lively!!

Joe Bott I know, and I’ve never had lessons. I do a choir at school that teaches technique too but i only did dance when I was 4 and I’ve never had acting lessons, soooo
