    These people influenced my childhood incredibly as well as my mom who is an artist who told me once that when I was drawing and I made a mistake it’s just not to erase it and throw it away but the form it into something else

    What also amazes me about Rocky and Bullwinkle and that whole series fractured fairytales and everything was the sound effects they were right on those side effects right on and I never really heard anybody talk about who integrated the sound effects with the animation and of course the artist did the voices‼️

    Jay doesn't get the credit he deserves With Bill Scott he made some of the best and funniest cartoons of the 60s

    I was a little kid in the 60's, rocky and Bullwinkle we're my favorite, it was so goofy but funny, Bullwinkle is a little thick, just like myself.

    The greatest cartoon ever and its humor was the precursor to later cartoons that children and adults could both enjoy. A huge part of so many childhoods

    How about Jay Wards Cereal charctors like Capn Crunch and Quisp?

    • @steverudder3321
      @steverudder3321 2 года назад +6

      I actually have 6 boxes of Quisp Cereal! My older brother and I thoroughly enjoyed the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show from the beginning. Quisp and Quake were part of our "Nutritious Breakfasts."
      Just for nostalgic purposes, I bought a case of Quisp and gave a few boxes to him just for laughs!
      As much as we loved and watched the cartoons, mom couldn't stand the voice of the announcer..... until she found out that it was actually William Conrad!😁👍

    Very interesting video teaching me about the background of a show I loved as a child and still do at 66 years of age. Rocky and Bullwinkle was brilliant television. It appealed (and still can) to all ages. The writing had depth to it and sophistication. I think your video would be just as effective and entertaining with the extraneious sound/visual effect left out - such as the sound of booing and photo of people holding "BOO" signs when it is mentioned that NBC decides not to renew. This is unnecessary and somewhat irritating. Otherwise, and excellent video. The interview with Mr. Anderson is lovely. Thank you very much for bringing this to us. Best wishes.

    I actually went on the Dudley Do-Right ride

  • @stevensprunger3422
    @stevensprunger3422 Год назад +2

    So the animation techniques were very primitive but they were from the radio generation so it was the voices and it was the guy that did Bullwinkle‘s voice in the voice as it really made the show and then the they cleverness that made the show but could somebody correct me did Jay Ward at one point kind of have to go into an institution because he was mentally not doing too well I don’t like to spread rumors or anything but I would just like to verify that not that it really matters because a lot of creative people and people that are under pressure have to do that no judgment but I’m just curious about that

    Canadian here with a historical correction. We got Dudley Do-Right in Canada in the 60's (thank heavens) but only on CTV - CBC had stuff like Mr. Dressup and The Friendly Giant, morally instructive but kinda dull. Mr. Peabody & Sherman can confirm what I say.

    😮Strictly speaking Jay was was an intellect, but the phobias took a tool. He paid well, and put his mone i toi finance the projects. I have never seen or heard Jay speak-interviews, lecture-like his crew. He continued to work and manage his realty company in Berkeley, something to fall back on." His words.

      Kinda, its kind of like ub Iwerks and disney. Alex created the characters, but Ward made their humor and personality and put in the work to make them successful.

    So from what I understand when the rocking Bullwinkle show was going on he was a very shy kind of person and he ended up possibly going into a mental institution correct me if I’m wrong however that doesn’t really matter he was a very creative genius me and my friends about 1974 went down to Hollywood on sunset Boulevard where the Bullwinkle statue was and he had a a small studio there where you could go and buy animation stuff like cells and stuff and me and my friend Nguyen in there because we’re just an animation we’re inspired totally inspired by the rock and Bullwinkle show and all of his creative endeavors so we did buy some cells but we never did get an animation but I became a A Aa graphic artist and then later I got involved with the arts on the computer and I’m still on I am doing graphic arts
