    Are they heat resistant?

    Hi, are your experiments published? Or do you have published references for your ratios?

    Hello, love your video. Can I ask if I’m making a bio plastic made from grain rice water, what is the best ratio for this? Or can you recommend some studies for me? It would really help me a lot.

      Wish I could help but I have no experience with that.

    hi! i want to make a potato bioplastic cup using a cup mold. what recipe would you think would fit best to make the cup more stiff or solid? also would the thickness affect the drying time?

    • @giestas
      @giestas  9 месяцев назад +1

      I'm still working an a cup like object, so far I've only managed to get good results with thin film bioplastics. Once I get to something decent I'll share the recipe here.

    love your videos. do you hav an idea how to mak a plastic which is solid as plastic but doesn't lose it's volume while drying?

      Haven't figured that out yet :)

      I don't know yet, that would take a lot of trial and error I'm guessing...

    Hello, do you think it is possible that we can create bioplastic materials from this recipe? If yes, can you give us some examples and what is the ratio that we should follow?

    • @giestas

      Maybe you can start with one of these: ruclips.net/video/Uaz9Qvadyio/видео.html

      This is the simplest recipe because it doesn't have vinegar: ruclips.net/video/XBjUPxaGcZQ/видео.html

    hi, I just wondered what the effect vinegar is?

    • @giestas
      @giestas  11 месяцев назад

      The reasoning is you need an acid to break amylopectin into amylose ( see: ruclips.net/video/3A-lLOunRoE/видео.html ) but in this video ( ruclips.net/video/XBjUPxaGcZQ/видео.html ) I reproduced the recipe without vinegar and it still works, so I don't really know...

    Does it have a significant tensile strength ?

      By feel I would say so, but I don't have a way to test it accurately.

    Hi! 1) Are these edible? 2) Will you try to work with agar?

    • @giestas
      @giestas  2 года назад +1

      1) I'd guess so, but I'm not sure.
      2) Yes, I've been experimenting with agar and gelatin, but they develop mold quickly, which is a bit frustrating.

    Can we use agar in this process?

    what is the use of the glycerin please?

    • @giestas
      @giestas  Год назад +1

      It makes the bioplastic flexible.

    hi, do you think there'll be any drastic effects in the quality of the bioplastic if theres double or half the amount of starch?

    • @giestas
      @giestas  2 года назад +1

      I didn't make rigourous tests, but by feel I would say: not really.

    Hi, what is the function of vinegar?

    • @giestas
      @giestas  Год назад +2

      It breaks the molecular structure of the starch, which changes into longer chains (polymer).
