Not sure how 70% of India is obese. I see lot of skinny people in India. I do see bit of obesity in the cities but 7 out 10 people being obese in India is too far a stretch. Not sure from where these people get this statistics. 60% of India lives in villages and hardly any villager is obese. This statistics of 70% is so criminally bogus.
Exactly, only around 5-6% of Indian Adults are Obese according to the Global Obesity Observatory (ranked among one of the lowest at 180 of 200 countries. Obesity is having a BMI (Body Mass Index) higher than 30, which qualify very few Indians. It is total nonsense to say Obesity is a serious problem in India. Where do people come up with this garbage?
It said overweight not obese, you can be overweight even when you may seem not so fat. But yes 70% seem way too high, 30% around would be more reasonable.
S She is right I reduced my weight thrice in the last 15 years Every time after reduction It's not over , post reduction if we tend to eat little extra the mind ask more I gained double After lossing weight
I’m similar situation and only solution is lifetime calorie deficit diet, water and exercise. I’m starting my lifetime heathy eating and exercise journey from today.
The way is to lose weight slowly and gradually, using weight training (3-4 times a week) and cardio (2-3 times a week). Most of it is fixing up your diet and eating more protein. Sleep of atleast 7 hours every night.
To tackle obesity the best option is to do mental exercises, for which we need to deal with gaining knowledge's about secrets of nature and politics. We will then learn how to align our speech while thinking out of the box. I do this by listening to conspiracy theories, news, gossips, theosophy and alternate media.
Just don't eat more and also exercise. From sofa in front of a TV, to parking near the office, to the elevator, and to the screen in the office. This is not the original design of hunting and gathering? It is not a policy issue. We don't want the government starting to regulate what we can and cannot eat.
Palki, fat cells in our body remain constant. Intense exercise or dieting may deplete that fat, but it is always ready to be added back. People with less fat cells will always tend to be thin and those with more will tend to be obese
If you've tried so hard to loose weight or maintain your weight and you see how difficult it is you'll understand what she means about policy problem. If Obesity is seen as a disease that need to be treated like any other disease with say,Health insurance cover, most people will be able to afford the medicines and even weight reduction surgeries like partial gastrectomies to help them reduce weight. Again if food companies that sells junk foods are regulated just like narcotic substances are tightly regulated, the rate of obesity will be lowered. Also if government could fund more researches into obesity ,it will improve more and current knowledge about the problem. This is just a few example of how policy changes can go a long way to help curb the problem.
I don't think obesity impacts nor "costs" the economy as she said, "obesity" grows the economy, disease, food, insurance and mortality is money. The problem is people have a false belief that eating fat will make you fat, so they don't eat fat but yet they become fat. Those that eat more fat, are far more healthier.
Namaskaram Palki! Bilqul say bhaat janu ! Fat cell’s most certainly have memory because the data is never permanently deleted. Muscles also have tremendous memory. Excellent video!
The reason why dieticians advise against eating at maintenance calorie levels soob after leaving fat-loss diet is because body's metabolism gets slower and as a result, even the maintenance calories get treated as extra and those go to your fat cells. However, even after environmental hazards and slow metabolism issues, VAST majority of obese cases can be avoided by just cutting back or abstaining from eating junk foods, high carbohydrate diets and alcohols and sugary drinks. When you are out of fat-loss programme, just slowly add calories in your diet weekly basis till you hit the maintenance calorie mark (you need to calculate it). You will gain a LITTLE bit of fat and some water though, but that's okay as long as you maintain discipline
While calculating the calorie intake, first measure the calories from protein, which should be taken 1-1.25x gram per Kg of body weight. Next subtract the calories from ESSENTIAL dietary fats, which should be taken 0.3-0.4x g per Kg of body weight. The remainder is to be taken from carbobydrates. Just calculate those calories and find the corresponding weight of carbohydrates you need to take. Preferably take complex carbohydrates instead of simpler ones like glucose and sucrose
Obesity is NOT a disease in most cases. And NOT a policy issue. It's a personal choice. There are very few people, like lipedema patients, who are really mostly powerless against weight gain. And funny enough, THESE are the ones who are ripping their legs out to stay at least in shape as much as possible. THAT is the difference between SUFFERING from overweight as a REAL medical condition and being a fat, greedy, unreflected toddler in an oversized adult flesh sack.
Got the same issue. Been running 10 km everyday so as to slash down my excess flab. Loss 8 kg in 10 months but the stomach tenaciously refused to slim.
This would stand out as a pessimistic piece of news item ; not worthy of Palki's stature , for all said and done , obesity is not how fat are you , but how strong is your will power. Fat cells only remember whether you respected or abused your body.
I agree but if a human consistently works on he can change his fats cells memory also it's not an big deal. All about consistency life.and discipline that's it.
This sounds like old news, I learned the hard way over 10yrs ago you can't lose body fat simply by just eating less, your only starving the fat cells when you do that, the only real way to burn fat (at least if your a guy) is by lifting progressively heavier weight as you go, speaking of lifting, lifting is the best way to burn sugar and carbs, cardio and body weight exercises are useless.
@@olska9498 To some degree you're right, but if you don't build muscle and be capable of lifting at minimum your own body weight, any weight loss can easily be ruined.
@@DividendFiend Who do you think is less fat? A marathon runner who eats healthy, does cardio and doesn't lift OR... a person who eats unhealthy food, doesn't do cardio but lifts weights?

Healthy lifestyle is not a phase. It is a life long commitment. You need to eat healthy and exercise until you die.
That's kinda hectic 😂😂
Agree, I’ve experienced first hand and this morning decided to start my healthy lifetime journey!
I love this yoyo , my fat not leaving me , isn't a true love , lol 😂

True in villages, they work really hard.

I can't come to the conclusion how obesity is a policy problem, not our personal choice
Not completely personal nor completely a policy.

Another break through, but why western society is so behind, it's common knowledge for Indians that body remembers, it's part of ayurved
